GUNS/RLTD Dianne Feinstein Pushes Ban on 205 Commonly Owned Semiautomatic Guns

The 10/22 carbine is notable for not ejecting the brass. I had an off the shelf carbine that went back to Ruger a few times until they called and said they couldn't fix it. Offered me a deal.....they would trade it for my choice of any other 10/22 that they make......lol.
I opted for a bull barrel, target model in blued steel with a gorgeous wood stock which one of their gunsmith's put together for me one weekend. No plastic parts on it either.
That gun is a tack driver. With bulk ammo by Federal it's favorite. Not as dirty to shoot either as the other brands. I tried a lot of different brands looking for a reliable round. The Fed 510 was the best off a bench rest setup.

IF you don't have a 10/22 yet, go for the target model. With that bull barrel on it, it's awesome. Yeah it's a bit heavier to carry but accurate and mine at least doesn't jam anymore. At least not with the cleaner ammo. Who wants to have to stop and clean your gun after you fire 20 rounds? And watch out for plastic parts. They do make the better models in all steel parts.

I wanted a rifle that I could hit what I was shooting at. NO it doesn't have sights on it. I have a scope on it. But then I use if for distance shooting. I have a pistol/pistols for up close stuff.......

DH has a bolt 22 that he can shoot the shorts out of. I like my rifle better. I am not a bolt type shooter. Dianne can stuff her "wants" in a dark place. She is not getting my semi's.....

It is a simple fact that the smaller bullets of shorts and longs are not as accurate as the larger bullets of the long rifle ammo. This is because the rifling twist of all modern 22 barrels are made to shoot the larger bullets more accurately. The difference might not be huge but it is there. Not that it really matters any. Just giving all of you a tidbit of worthless information that some of you likely already know about anyway.

Really? I’m shocked. I haven’t seen new .22 shorts in 20 years. Seriously.

LOL you need to get out more LOL.

I only mentioned Walmart, but we was in Academy the other day, and they had a shelf full of 'em. AND it's something you have to look for. If all you was doing is looking for 9mm or 5.56 you wouldn't notice 'em.

A lever action requires you to break your sight picture to chamber every round.

And the .22 short and .22 long are very old cartridges, and have been out of favor for decades.

Sadly yes the shorts have fallen out of favor and it all because they have been told they need the little bit of extra power the long rifle round produces to slay squirrels and raccoons and the .22 shorts are quite capable of doing.
The leaver actions will get the job done and may keep you from burning up piles of ammo thats all to easy to do with a autoloader.
I own a 10/22 and like it, but I'm known for putting down autoloaders as being high speed ammo digesters.

I have a Savage Model 24C .22/20ga that I hunt rabbits and squirrels with. In the .22 barrel I still use .22 shorts for squirrels, I still have around 10 boxes of shorts "squirreled" away, so to speak.

Ban on 205 Different ‘Assault Weapons’ Introduced by Sen. Feinstein

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) on Thursday introduced a ban on more than 200 “assault weapons” after the House passed two gun-control measures pertaining to background checks.

Her bill (pdf), called the “Assault Weapons Ban of 2021,” is co-sponsored by 34 Senate Democrats and would ban ammunition magazines that hold more than 10 rounds—similar to the bans on magazines in New York state and California.

According to the legislation, which was also introduced in the House by Rep. David Cicilline (D-R.I.), the ban would encompass more than 205 rifles. Feinstein’s bill would allow current owners of the guns to retain possession of them. If that gun is transferred, a person has to undergo an FBI background check before getting the firearm.

The bill also bans any weapon that has the capacity to use a magazine that isn’t a fixed ammunition magazine and has one or more characteristics such as a pistol grip, forward grip, a threaded barrel, a folding or telescoping stock, or a barrel shroud.

The bill “requires that grandfathered assault weapons are stored using a secure gun storage or safety device like a trigger lock” and prohibits the transfer of high-capacity ammunition magazines while banning “bump-fire stocks and other devices that allow semi-automatic weapons to fire at fully automatic rates,” according to a news release from Feinstein’s office. Bump-fire stocks were made illegal in March 2019.

“It’s been 17 years since the original Assault Weapons Ban expired, and the plague of gun violence continues to grow in this country. To be clear, this bill saves lives. When it was in place from 1994-2004, gun massacres declined by 37 percent compared with the decade before. After the ban expired, the number of massacres rose by 183 percent,” Feinstein said in a statement Thursday.

There are more than 20 million modern sporting rifles owned by private citizens, according to the National Shooting Sports Foundation, as reported by pro-Second Amendment website Bearingarms.com.

Republicans and gun-rights groups have said proposals from Feinstein, who has long advocated for gun control, are unconstitutional and won’t prevent firearms from getting in the hands of criminals.

“Law-abiding Americans use them for every type of lawful purpose, including personal and home defense, hunting, marksmanship competitions, and recreational target practice,” stated the National Rifle Association (NRA) when Feinstein attempted to introduce the bill in 2019. “Needless to say, however, the modern criminal element will not be playing by the antiquated rules that Feinstein hopes to apply to the rest of us,” the group asserted.

On Thursday, the House passed two Democratic-backed gun control measures, including one would that would expand background checks to those purchasing weapons over the internet, at gun shows, and through certain private transactions. Only eight Republicans joined the Democrats in backing the bill.

The second bill, passed 219-210 with only two Republicans supporting it, would give authorities 10 business days for federal background checks to be completed before a gun sale can be licensed.

Fineswine: evil Jew.
I just looked and you are correct.
The jews scream "never again" when they refer to the events that transpired during what is called the holocaust.

Schumer is also jewish as is Bloomberg.

All of the above and countless others like them are strong proponents of banning the only thing that stands between them and a repeat of the events that occurred in WW2 that, by their count, exterminated around 6 million of them.

They appear to not only be stiff necked but also mindless fools that would eliminate their only defense against annihilation.

I feel like I failed. I used to make a full 10% of the brands named and banned under the NY assault rifle ban, I only made five of the brands listed by the new federal version of the ban.

I have clearly failed.

Hmmm, by the definition provided in the synopsis of the bill, it appears that the trusty old Garand may not be in their target range.

As far as a discussion on the 10/22, I've never had mine jam. Ever. It's an off-the-shelf WalMart variety one from about 20 years ago.

Anyone whose name ends in “Stein” is Jewish. As old as you are, you didn’t know that??

Not necessarily in every case. Many Juden adopt a more common name when they relocate to fit in with the local population.

In German "stein" simply means stone or rock. Nothing inherently religious or sinsister in the word.

Or they simply translate their name to the English equivalent.

Zuckerberg would become "sweet hill" for example.

At a certain point of this cascade of laws, regulations and E.O.s , we all become criminals and it is not worth it to comply. Besides, unconstitutional laws are a nullity.

There is a PDE out there with the language in it. A 10/22 is a prohibited gun any model made! Supposed to list every gun prohibited in it. I heard it lists what you can have

Bingo! As our pretender President Biden (CCP) would say.

Ayn Rand explained all this her novel, Atlas Shrugged. It's no accident but rather how tyranny evolves.

Incidentally, Rand was a Judin. She also changed her name when coming to America. Her original name was Alisa Zinovyena Rosebaum ("rose tree").
