I don't think I'll be making any powders. There is one thing I don't have, and that is a blender. I don't want to buy another appliance right now. I just spent a whole lot on my canner and dehydrator. I need to save a bit, before buying anything else. It's good to know how to do it, though.
I pick up blenders at garage sales and thrift stores for a couple of dollars. The older ones seem to be better built. And you can use a regular-mouth canning jar instead of the blender container for smaller batches. I like doing my smoothies this way.

I have a question about dehydrated summer squash. If I dehydrate it, then reconstitute it, will it be like fresh squash that I can pan fry? We love battered and pan fried fresh squash from the garden, and it would be great to have it all winter long.

If you have a coffee grinder, that will do small batches with no problem. I make lemon powder, chai, etc with one.

I need to get a coffee grinder. I have one, but it's very, very old. It was Cary's mom's that she brought over with her from Germany years ago. I don't use it for anything. It's just a keepsake. I'll see what I can come up with.

Southern Breeze -- I was not happy with the sliced summer squash or the canned summer squash. The shredded is good to use in various ways because it pretty much disappears when cooked. It makes a nice addition to winter soups. I'd suggest experimenting with small batches to decide what works for you. I think if I cut the canned into smaller chunks it would work better in soups. The big chunks not so much. Again, it's a matter of personal taste so enjoy your experiments. .
