CORONA Daughter denied entry to U.S.

So today my oldest daughter was denied entry to the U.S. from Canada. They asked why she was coming over and what will she be doing etc. Since she is on a border city, she said she was going to get gas (yes, it is still cheaper in U.S. from Canada) and maybe spend some money at the casino. Next question was “ Are you Vaxxed” and she replied “ I would rather not reveal personal medical information “. They told her to come inside and they printed out a form that she was denied entry due to being unable to show proof of vaccination. I a little concerned, I’ve seen numerous videos of people who have gone to the U.S. and came back to Canada showing how they denied the Canadian border guards proof of the arrivecan app to show vax status and are allowed to proceed without fallout. Does anyone know the true policy of allowing Unvaccinated from Canada into U.S.? How can these videos show Canadians go over the border without issue into U.S. but being questioned coming back into their own country if the U.S. will not allow unvaccinated into U.S.?
My one thought was that these videos are fake as they are vaxxed and go visit then only record coming back to Canada with attitude while recording, they post video shows them allowed to pass but they really are vaxxed, with it all a show.

I thought I heard where the Canadian government was going to eliminate the vax requirement to cross a border? Or is this just for Americans to go north?

Wife and I are not vaxed, we used to go to Manitoba, which is just 9 miles away, but with this covid crap we let our passports expire. No desire to deal with the political crap.

Interesting how times change, as a kids in the 60's we'd go to Canada by boat to buy McIntosh Toffee. If the constable caught us, he'd just chew us out and make us leave. About 10 years ago the daughter and husband were hunting in the back country on dirt trails. They found a paved road, and realized it had Manitoba road signs.

All air travel into the USA for non-citizen and legal residents require vaccine. I didn't think that applied to land crossings, perhaps I am wrong..

But, in any case, CBP can and will deny entry because the don't like your color of eye shadow. Or maybe their wife yelled at them this morning. Or the dog peed in their shoes Or just cause they are sad people who hate their life.

I played with one once. She asked me if I had any guns, and I said not with me. She threw a fit, questioned the hell out of me. I thought I was going to be searched, but she let me go. I wanted to give her my concealed license instead of a passport, but that would have been too much, she would have stroked out.

A few years back we were camping up here, and I visited with a camping neighbor, who was a Canadian trucker. He said they searched his cab on reentry and found a spent 22 casing. That resulted in a 100% search of the whole truck.

Hahaha...if she told them she was running across the border to buy cheap(er) gas, well...that might be what turned them a bit snitty. But yeah..it pays to check the current regs before attempting to dive in. She must not cross over very often.

These border guards ( both sides) have a lot of discretion, and if they sniff a little attitude or anything off in the mix, you are gonna get the business, ranging from a refusal to a detailed search of your vehicle and person.

Canada dropped their COVID requirements (ARRIVEcan) just after we visited the end of Sept. Had we gone one week earlier...

Ironically, my husband got COVID from that trip, which he gave to my mom. I didn't get it. I must have a kick ass immune system.

We never got COVID in the US (not even in NYC) in almost 3 years, but one lil trip to Niagara Falls...
