CME Update
August 6, 2023 @ 12:10 UTC

The X1.6 solar flare around AR 3386 was responsible for the second of two halo CMEs on Saturday (image below).

The first CME was the result of a long duration M-Flare/Filament eruption earlier in the day. Both appear to have an Earth directed component with glancing blows possible beginning August 8th. The combination could generate minor (G1) to moderate (G2) storming at higher latitudes. Aurora sky watchers should be alert beginning Tuesday.

UPDATE: The latest NOAA/SWPC update is reporting that the second CME (X1.6 Flare) will be a miss. Even with that forecast, I still believe that the eastern flank could still graze past Earth.

Mid 80s this afternoon when the sun broke threw. Rain and a northern wind. It was/is great to be alive!

I'm back to teaching online, so am using YT as one of my video platforms. I have noticed an uptick, bordering on the absurd, of thumbnails of people with their mouths wide open and supposed shocked looks on their faces. It's right up there with the whole duck lip pout look that trended hard about ten years ago. That one was stupid, and the open mouth look is even more stupid!

I'm not butt hurt at all, but you might want to get caught up on actual climate events, mostly caused by the Sun and volcanic activity... SuspiciousObservers over at YouTube if you want to know if your area is going to be under water and soon. Ben has a play list that's almost two hours long that's worth watching... cause the Sun IS currently in a micro nova event.

Doom doom doom...... I was 'doom' when doom wasn't cool.......(I still like Barbara Mandrell)

but it REALLY is getting tiresome having done this for years now for our passion to be fed to the masses to promote fear..... the problem is it is working..... and it wont change. Now even with reliable sources you have to be picky about the news you ingest.

For the record..... I loved U2 when they were starving musicians..... after they went global..... not so much.

Today (Monday 08/07/23), a local AM radio station had at least 15 minutes dead-air time. IHeart Radio station a 50 KW day signal, 44 KW @ night on 1150 AM, is AKA as Patriot Radio out of Burbank CA, with a call sign of K(EIB) as a tribute to Excellence In Broadcasting and Rush Limbaugh.

ETA @ 15:40 hours PST, my debit card would not run through the vendors machine. My purchase was completed with ready-teller’s. A old friend PE Andrew Jackson helped me complete the transaction.

Well, that we had already. Don't forget Reagan's "naptimes" and most of Jimmuh Carter.

I'm thinking more along the lines of UFO sightings and, of course, the idea that the federal government could declare us all prisoners in our own homes for several weeks, and then the states could take over to go however much longer they pleased.
