Prep Genrl Dads got spares

So my daughter came in for working in the garden. She had broken the handle of the rake. I could tell it was not deliberate but she was clearly thinking that her chores were now done as it was broken. The look of joy was completely absent from her face as I grabbed a spare handle, put it on and sent her on her way to finish up.

I think my DH is beginning to see the light about spares. He usually has one, although I encourage him to have more. Last summer or fall he bought two electric chain saws (the pull cord kind are too hard for him to pull anymore, he's 76). The plastic sproket wore down in one and it stopped working, he checked the sproket in the other one and its starting to wear. He's uses the chain saws far more than they are meant for, he cuts a lot of fire wood. He ordered two and he said if the come in (from china) he will order 4 more, cheaper than replacing the saw.

Those electric chain saws are fantastic. I have a small 14in that I have had for over a decade. It has never failed me. I got it for $14 at a Lowes store opening with a $25 coupon. Best buy I ever made.

I also have a small generator to go with it.

If yours is over a decade old its better made than the crap out now.
