CORONA Covid tests...why?

It's coming up on ragweed season. I'm going to refuse to get tested or will lie about it if my seasonal job
decides to require it. I told the head honcho that we'd be better off with "Don't ask, don't tell." He laughed.
The only way I will get tested is if I'm also running a high fever, and testing is free.

Otherwise, it's allergies, and there are going to be about 2-3 weeks that my eyes will be red and itchy and I'll have a cough. That's just how it is, no matter what I take.

that is me all year long with certain times punctuated with a higher amount. if we tested every time that happened, we would always be there. no thank you.

suppose you tell them NO cv test?

It's been our experience that you can always tell them no. It's just that if you come into the clinic with symptoms, they automatically want to check you for Covid. Now, if you came in with a broken leg, I don't think they would. You might get your temp checked, and asked a few questions, though.

Case in point, 6 weeks ago, my DDIL got very sick with a sinus infection and a terrible cough. She went to the clinic, and the first thing they wanted to check was for Covid. I don't think they would have refused to treat her if she had refused. They also checked her for the Flu. She had neither.

Some were some were overweight some were normal.

Not true. I had zero symptoms. I gave it to my whole family. Some without symptoms but mostly had symptoms. My wife was quite ill. All came down with it after I was tested. I got a negative test within a week of my first test. Had to stay out of work until I got a second neg test, I then subsequently tested positive for the antibodies from an entirely different outfit and then tested negative for antibody 6 months after we all had gotten covid.

My immune system did not create antibodies for no reason. And btw I have had no illness at all with symptoms since a flu march 2020.
Agreed…. My son tested positive 2 days after me. He had a dry cough, fatigue & a headache.
I had every symptom except loss of taste & smell. I was vomiting & had days of fever, dry heaves & extreme fatigue, cough & congestion. He was sick & out of work 10 days. I was sick & out of work 3 weeks. I just went back to work yesterday and the fatigue is relentless.

I am glad you are on the road to recovery though. I've been hoping you were going to be alright since your OP

Husband wasn't feeling well at the beginning of the week. He's vaccinated, but we have been places recently, and could easily have been exposed to something. He was mostly tired, a little sniffy, achy...I was tired. We took naps. But we did not get tested. We took our herbs and napped, and feel better.

I think testing is helpful when you are sick because then you know. Its your choice what to do after you know but speed is essential in getting the right therapeutics started. I never answered any questions concerning contact tracing. Testing give you the control. I think in the days to come it will be important to know that you had it and then you can count on the antibodies. Testing is free if you do not have insurance.
