Food Coffee Sale & Mason Jars

I've been hoping for a coupon, or some sale in ground coffee to grab another big batch of it, and just noticed today that several retailers have the Seattle's Best brand on pretty hefty sale.

Typically it is a few dollars more per 12oz bag than the HEB store brand that I buy by default when nothing is on sale. This week it is a couple of dollars less per bag. I noticed that Walmart online has it on sale from the normal $12.99 (over priced) on sale for $4.99 for a 12oz bag (not all flavors). So I'm planning on buying quite a bit, and wanted to mention it to you other coffee drinkers out there.

Also, question: Does anyone vacuum seal their ground coffee in mason jars? And if so, have you noticed if it extends the shelf life?

We do the same but have gotten from Costco. I’d like to get a few more. There’s always more to keep adding to the list …. Lol

I always date the jugs when I get them home. The last jug I opened had a date of 3-2019. It was still fresh. That was my last jug for 2019, though. I've figured 1 jug a month for 2 years, and have thrown in some extras just in case. That gives me at least a 2 year supply. I haven't counted them, lately, but at last count, I had 30 jugs.

I have them arranged by expiration. A jug lasts us a little over a month (because we blend some chocolate flavored coffee in with it). I think I have about 10 jugs worth. Just like the coffee filter and tp thread, this is pushing me to get a few more.;)

I started out prepping on a year basis. Once I reached that goal, I started on a 2 year supply. I kept up with how much coffee, TP, laundry detergent, pasta, etc. we used on a monthly basis, and calculated from there. Of course, I can't do that with everything, but with coffee, I could. Our coffee drinking habits are pretty stable.

That’s been my goal and to increase items we commonly use (and I could get cheaply) to two years. I think I have a two year supply on most of our toiletries, medical and cleaning supplies. I’m still replacing with two items when I use one. I keep running lists on my phone and when I stop in a dollar general or tree, try to pick up a few more items to build. I keep reading here and double checking lists. I then check storage space because it’s also important to me to live in an organized space. (That is definitely a work in progress!)

Organized space? Yeah, me, too. I'm OCD about it. I don't mind things being in view, but I can't stand messy and unorganized.

Same here, we buy ours from Costco and we just recently finished our 2019 jugs. Tasted normal, no signs or tastes of problems. Ours is Maxwell House, but we don't go through one a month near as I can tell...maybe two months or so.

We have a spare bedroom that we have put a few shelves that we use as a pantry. It is a catch all room which has some of my crafts too. I need to organize it all. The shelves are currently overflowing which makes it harder for me to know what I have (And need).

We live in a 2 bedroom house. When our last son moved out, we emptied their bedroom out completely. Cary set up floor to ceiling shelves 2ft deep along each wall, under the window, and around the door. That is my pantry room. It's full, and now, I've started filling our bedroom. I told Cary that as long as we could get to our closets and bed, I was good (just kidding). It's still organized, though, and stacked neatly. That's not taking into consideration my mini storage barn or laundry room.
