China will nuke Japan in a ‘full-scale’ war – new video threatens

Jonathan TalbotDeputy Editor3 min readJuly 19, 2021 - 12:42PM

A new video circulated among Chinese Communist Party channels has warned China will destroy Japan with nuclear weapons in a "full-scale war" if Tokyo interferes militarily in Taiwan.
The new video singles out Japan threatening it will be the “exception” to China’s stated policy to not use nuclear weapons against non-nuclear powers.

“We will use nuclear bombs first. We will use nuclear bombs continuously. We will do this until Japan declares unconditional surrender for the second time,” the video said.
“When we liberate Taiwan, if Japan dares to intervene by force – even if it only deploys one soldier, one plane or one ship – we will not only return fire but also wage full-scale war against Japan itself.”
The video ends by stating: "There will be no peace talks."
The tensions between Tokyo and Beijing have soared recently after Japanese politicians doubled down publicly on Japan’s commitment to Taiwanese sovereignty.

“We must defend Taiwan, under our alliance with the US,” Deputy Prime Minister Taro Aso said.
Defence Minister Yasuhide Nakayama added Japan and the US must “protect Taiwan as a democratic country”.
Japan’s release of the Defence of Japan 2021 white paper last week - in which it referred to the importance of Taiwanese stability - also angered China.
China Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Zhao Lijian urged Japan to adjust its “mentality” in comments last week.
”We once again urge Japan to approach the relevant issues with the right mentality, and show its respect for China's sovereignty and sincerity in upholding regional peace and stability.”
“I must stress that, Taiwan is part of China and the Taiwan question is purely China's internal affair. China never allows interference in the Taiwan question in any form by any country.”

“China must and will be reunified. A complete reunification of China is most beneficial to regional peace and stability.”
The video – appearing on a channel approved by the CCP and with close ties to the People’s Liberation Army – dropped any diplomatic niceties or ambiguity in its response, however.
It asked that Beijing abandon its ‘no first use’ nuclear weapons policy.
“In 1964, when our first atomic bomb was successfully detonated, we promised the world that we would not use atomic weapons against non-nuclear countries, and we would not be the first to use them,” the narrator states.

“Nearly 60 years have passed. Now the international situation has changed dramatically. Our country is in the midst of a major change. And all political policies, tactics and strategies must be adjusted to protect the peaceful rise of our country.
“It is necessary to make limited adjustments to our nuclear policy.”
The five-minute video, now taken down, which had attracted millions of views is not the first officially sanctioned video threatening to attack the west.
The PLA released a military recruitment video last year showing a H-6K bomber simulating a strike on the US territory of Quam.
Speaking to news.com.au, Professor Stephan Fruhling of the Australian National University’s Strategic and Defence Studies Centre believes the sentiments expressed in the clip are unlikely to be echoed by Beijing’s more powerful political cadres.

“My sense though is that they will squash this kind of rhetoric insofar as it is only likely to strengthen the case for the US to rely more heavily on nuclear weapons in the Indo-Pacific as well,” he told news.com.au.
However, Professor Fruhling added that the possibility China would use a nuclear weapon against Japan or the US to solve the ‘Taiwan question’ is “very real”.
“The possibility that (Beijing) would use nuclear weapons against Japan or the US if they thought it would make the difference between victory and defeat in a war over Taiwan is, in my view, very real,” says Professor Fruhling.

A #Chinese #military channel claims that if #Japan dares to intervene in the #CCP's 'liberation' of #Taiwan, the CCP will abandon its prior commitment of refraining from initiating the use of #nuclearweapons. They argue that this is an outdated promise.
Instead, the CCP threatens to launch continuous nuclear attacks on Japan until it surrenders unconditionally.
While these threats may lack military rationale, they shed light on the CCP's mindset.

Idiots. So they've now stated that any attack upon Taiwan will include nuclear weapons. That means the moment they start something US boomers will be cocked and locked to nuke the mainland if not in kind then proactively.

That doesn't even get into Japan, South Korea and Taiwan putting their "golden screwdrivers" to work.

I believe Japan could have their own nukes in about a month.

It would be easy to blockage China from crude oil, raw materials, and food.

Maybe they do not have a month.

Then they sink every Chinese flagged ship and starve Bejing out.

China doesn't produce enough food for their population and are utterly dependent on imports.

The Japanese are among the few countries to have deep water fleets.

All of China's imports and exports have to transit naval choke points, which makes attacking China very easy.

OF COURSE the CCP says this now.

Why do ya think that we have had fun with the whole "Golden Screw driver" stuff???

If Japan has ANY thinking people in charge, their Gold Screw drivers have been hard at work for MONTHS!

South Korea and Taiwan as well.

SOMEONE in the CCP just screwed up LARGE!!!

In world politics, there are always two distinct conversations regarding any topic of world interest……

1. The “conversation” that is publicized, either “quietly” or overtly, for the purpose of tiddly-winking the typical world citizen;

2. The real conversation between the “sovereigns” directly involved…..which typically take place over scotch and cigars or, if the weather is fitting, a game of horseshoes.

Floods have wiped out their crops.

China is done for if they cant get food for their people.

Unless killing off most of their population is the goal?

With such statement as fuel, I expect those golden screwdrivers are being used at this very moment.

From articles I read back in the 90s, Japan could have their "build-a-bomb kits" assembled by dinnertime tomorrow. Everything was said to be ready for final assembly, just send the order for all the subassemblies to be brought to the assembly facility and have the boys start screwing them together.

I believe that is commonly accepted. What's actually of interest is how the political winds are changing in Japan wrt these issues.
In the past few years as China has grown more openly threatening towards Japan, Japanese leadership has become open about removing the nuclear weapons restriction from their constitution. Meanwhile their "nuclear research projects" stockpile has grown to a rumored 100+ "projects" ready to assemble and put to use.

Then I would suggest very strongly that Japan start building nukes like now. I think that war will happen without very little advance warning.

What's the 'Rumor' on their throw-weight and boosters available to their 'projects'?

Take out the Three Gorges dam and resulting flood wipes out millions. It's Taiwan's ultimate deterrent.

I wouldn't be terribly surprised if the Rulers of that nation were concerned more about infrastructure than a few million lives.

Kinda like some other places.

The level of dao rattling is IMHO directly proportional to the internal instability of the CCP.

This doesn't bode well at all and someone in DC needs to make it abundantly clear that if things "go there" the CCP/PLA leadership are at the top of the targeting list. I know with the current cast of characters it won't come from official sources but it needs to come from somewhere that has some providence.

Thats the easiest way to state it. "If you F* with china, you're going to be seeing how reunification plays out from a first class seat in hell." War should ALWAYS target the leadership first. Solve shit quick, easy and relatively "peaceful."

I would expect China to be shrewd enough to cut a deal with Japan to help them get rid of the WWII occupiers that still occupy their land and run their government. I would also expect a modern day version of the Zimmerman Deal that was declined in WWII by Mexico.

China would also be prudent if they approached a few Native American tribes and offered a full return of their ancestral lands... the Navajo Nation had a massive bust within the past few years of Chinese nationals growing Marijuana on reservation lands near Farmington, NM. got busted because Chinese nationals were selling guns in town and someone dropped a dime!

Considering how things are "working out" in Tibet and with the Uygers I wouldn't be too sure of that.

Look at their space program. They have launched satellites themselves using derivatives of our Delta launch rocket (Delta 9 heavy). The Delta was derived from our late '50's Thor IRBM.

The Japanese aerospace program is as good as ours. Look what they did with technology from the F-16. The Mitsubishi F2 was the result.

The Japanese are like the ROC's/Taiwanese. What nuclear weapons? What advanced missile technology? Huh? :)

Back then they were intended to be aircraft-delivered by Japanese F-4 Phantoms. These days it would be F-35 carrying them. But after 30 years of advancements in Japan's space program, a missile warhead version probably exists.

I recall coming across an essay from the Air War College in the stacks at SJSU that was from the late 60s early 70s that was F-104J/B28 equivalent based. The number of alert aircraft suggested in the paper was IIRC around 15 to 20 with another 30 to 40 for spares, training and maintenance.

Yeah, agree about that.
On a separate, sort of related note. If any nuclear shit flies and Taiwan gets caught in the middle, just go to your nearest supermarket/Walmart and buy a few extra cheap smartphones, laptops, 50-lb bags of rice, water, and whatnot, cuz we be going into supply shortages of anything with a chip. COVID-19 logistics problem will be nothing compared to IC chips basically disappearing from production facilities in Japan and Taiwan (and maybe South Korea). Anyway..... carry on....

The latest Japanese satellite launcher, the Epsilon, is solid fueled and in the same class as the old US LGM-118 Peacemaker.

Also the Japanese have run successful probe/sample return missions to the asteroids.

yup think it's got the shortest/best nuclear latency out there
