I also like that fact that China has a ancestral enemy right next door - Japan!

Never forget the Japanese are very warlike and have beaten China like a drum over the centuries, so if/ when anything pops, I’d bet China won’t take Japan lightly!

Wealthy, prideful, war-like, hated by the Chinese…the Japs will be ready and also South Korea…both have money and power…

Lots of guys (grown men) along with the women, whining in their "I was bullied in junior high" 5 minute public service announcements and how terrible it was ( not serious physical bullying) just picking on you, making fun, or ignoring you. All of them considered suicide because they were so unhappy. They now have a COVID LIKE PUBLIC/MEDIA PROGRAM TO STOP BULLYING IN JAPANESE SCHOOLS.
GEE, I think every kid was picked on at one time or another.

it seems like half of them (young adults) are really into "anime" which is like "Hello Kitty " YOUNG ADULTS DRESSING AND ACTING like small CHILD stuff.

Even the older guys are totally tamed, I think it was a result of losing WW2. I've watched hundreds of interviews with all kinds and classes of people and never saw a guy who would fight for anything.

They also have a segment of (men) that live in their moms / parents house and basically stay in their closet.

No way, it isn't nearly as pervasive in China as it is in Japan. Not even close. Many Japanese men (who shouldn't even be called men) got feminized big time. Nothing else like it anywhere. It's amazing how fast the culture totally flip flopped following WWII.

That's true and I wonder how much of that is due to the internet / gaming etc? We didn't have those when I grew up so we were outside or at the gym being active on a daily basis. Kids and young adults not so much anymore.

flying in enough solders here will be a major effort filled with lots of planes downed.
getting them here by ship, would be just as dangerous. Lots of sunken ships.
landing covertly in other countries north or south of us isn’t going to happen.

I would agree with this - it was always surprising to me how feminine men Japanese men are these days. Not all of them of course, but many. And I do think that it was because the flower of Japanese manhood was essentially killed during WW2. There are some fighters left though - some can be seen in the martial arts community. Some are also in the Self Defense Forces. I remember a story about JSDF army types in Iraq celebrating over a slain insurgent- the first enemy killed by the Japanese since WW2.

As for Anime it does seems like they push the "soy boy" body type these days. Some of it is cutsey stuff.. Not all is like that though; if you don't believe me check out "Berserk" ;)

Imagine a large portion of the military-age men staying at home, single, and their only love interest is their waifu (sp?). Then imagine a similar number of similar aged women either fully focused on a career or becoming an “influencer” by dressing up like an 8-year-old school girl, wearing pig tails, and talking in a high-pitched voice. Quite a lot of the youth in Japan, and South Korea for that matter, seem to live in a near-constant fantasy land.
