CORONA CDC Director Says Vaccines 'Can't Prevent Transmission'; Fauci Says 'Too Early To Tell' On Holiday Gatherings

The narrative is in an utter shambles right now.

Except for Fauci. He's still a dick.

A couple choice tweets at the OP, too, including a couple small pointers about how Fauci wants to hold our holidays over our heads but Obama can have 900 unmasked guests at a birthday party.

Fair use cited so on and so forth.

CDC Director Says Vaccines 'Can't Prevent Transmission'; Fauci Says 'Too Early To Tell' On Holiday Gatherings

CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said last week that Covid vaccines 'can't prevent transmission' anymore despite working "exceptionally well."
"Our vaccines are working exceptionally well. They continue to work well for Delta with regard to severe illness and death - they prevent it, but what they can't do anymore is prevent transmission," she told CNN's Wolf Blitzer. "So if you’re going home to someone who is not vaccinated…I would suggest you wear a mask in public indoor settings," she continued.

That said, Walensky may have actually undersold the vaccines. According to a preprint study by British scientists at the University of Oxford, people who have taken AstraAeneca's Covid-19 vaccine and contract the virus are just as likely to spread it as the unvaccinated after 90 days, while the Pfizer vaccine's ability to reduce transmission is "substantially" reduced over the same period, according to the records of nearly 150,000 contacts that were traced from approximately 100,000 initial cases.

As NBC News reports, "The samples included people who were fully or partially vaccinated with either the Pfizer-BioNTech (BNT162b2) or the AstraZeneca (ChAd0x1) vaccines, as well as people who were unvaccinated. The researchers then looked at how the vaccines affected the spread of the virus if a person had a breakthrough infection with either the alpha variant or the highly contagious delta variant." Of note, both vaccines were more effective against the Alpha variant.

Initially, both vaccines reduced transmission from a fully vaccinated person to a given contact. Specifically, if a vaccinated individual is infected with the Delta variant, a given contact was 65% less likely to test positive if the infected had two doses of the Pfizer vaccine, and 36% less likely with AstraZeneca.

Yet, buried in the 14th paragraph of the report, NBC News notes:
The new study showed that protection against transmission seemed to wane over time, however. After three months, people who had breakthrough infections after being vaccinated with AstraZeneca were just as likely to spread the delta variant as the unvaccinated. While protection against transmission decreased in people who had received the Pfizer vaccine, there was still a benefit when compared with people who were unvaccinated.
In the words of the researchers, the Pfizer vaccine's ability to reduce transmission was 'substantially' lower by week 12.

They also found that while the Pfizer vaccine was superior in reducing transmission to contacts, protection against Covid-19 in the first place waned faster vs. AstraZeneca.

As for where people are coming into contact with the infected - the study found that 70% occurred within households, 10% from household visitors, 10% at 'events and activities,' and 10% at work or school.

What does this mean for the holidays? According to Dr. Anthony Fauci, it's 'too soon to tell' whether people can safely gather together for Christmas this year.

And why aren't US officials acknowledging naturally acquired immunity?

With all the mixed messaging, is anyone really shocked at the widespread 'vaccine hesitancy' among healthcare professionals?

Neither here nor there.
there was something like 80K fans at the Iowa State/Kansas game yesterday, we drove past the stadium and witnessed thousands of spectators hanging around tail gating and not nary a mask in sight. And no social distancing either. I think most americans have hit a wall and they're going to tell the dwarf, the sniffer and the ho, what to do with their turkey for the holidays!

The narrative has failed. The PTB knew they had only so much time. Most countries went all in and full suppression, but it didn't work here. There won't be any more vax campaigns that amount to anything.

Stand by for the next attack on reality. They will strive to keep the herd off balance.

LDS are still pushing the narrative.
SALT LAKE CITY -- The president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints urged members Saturday to listen to the faith's leaders when they seek “pure truth” and expressed gratitude for those who have followed church guidance during the pandemic, which has been to get vaccinated against the coronavirus.

President Russell M. Nelson acknowledged at a church conference that the world is “still dealing with the ravages of COVID-19 and its variants.” And while he didn't mention vaccines specifically, he thanked members for following the advice of church leaders, medical experts and government officials.

So let me see if I understand. Take shots that can kill, give you heart attacks or blood clots, and wear off to no protection from the virus in six months, or wash my hands, wear a mask indoors, and avoid large crowds indoors and limit contact outdoors, and 22 months after the great pandemic still haven't had this nasty stuff. Odds are I'll die of a car wreck caused by a cell phone driver quicker than the China virus. Of course I don't watch main stream media or the view. I have taken the weekend off from all news and I survived.

Or don't wear a mask at all because they're useless. That works too.

Pres Nelson said...... and government officials "in the places you live" - here is Canada we are almost locked down and dividing classes into vaxed and unvaxed with passports. A couple of months ago we were almost open..... and our .gov officials don't seem to be inclined to ease up on the restrictions. So if you want to go to the Temple, you have to wear a mask.

Odds are most folks have already been exposed, and that the only ones at risk for reinfection are the "vaccinated."
I know for fact I was exposed August 20th, as the person told me he had covid and that he got covid after his shots. Neither of us wore a mask and I got to within 6 feet of him. My risk factors include being over 65 and heart disease. Thus far, no symptoms. Now this is a known exposure, I betcha I've been exposed before without knowing it.

I think my experience proves the point you are making.

Not exactly the quote, unless you are referring to something else outside of conference. He thanked LDS for following "OUR counsel" AND "the advice of local medical experts and government officials in your own communities". The counsel the church has given is to get the vaccine.
We thank you for following our counsel and the advice of medical experts and government officials in your own communities.
and...
I can assure you that what you will hear today and tomorrow constitutes pure truth, pure doctrine and pure revelation.
Nelson, a former heart surgeon, and the faith’s top brass consistently have urged members to be vaccinated against COVID-19, assuring them that the shots have proved “safe and effective.”

Thank goodness you don't have symptoms. Hopefully, you won't get it. However, a friend of mine didn't even know he had covid until he got a test. He had zero symptoms. False positive? Maybe.

Kind of diverging...but did you catch Holland's address to the BYU staff, in August? Outstanding one. I was surprised he said such but glad he did. His name is a hiss and by word now to many...even at BYU. He talked about "friendly fire". I think it's Satanic fire and not "friendly fire". I guess he was being diplomatic.

I did not know I had covid until I got the test. I had no symptoms. About 12 weeks later I tested positive for antibodies. Also my entire family of 15 got covid at the same time with varying degrees of symptoms or none at all.

I heard from a few people this same exact thing...but most haven't had an antibody test. NATURAL immunity.

MARANTHA!! Even so, come LORD JESUS!!!
I have been REPEATEDLY exposed and also in enclosed areas with patients who got COVID just days after being with me in my office>>>>for prolonged periods of time>>>sessions run 45 minutes to an hour. For a time, I allowed them to take off their masks, but had to stop doing that after a bit, as the bureaucrats came down on everyone AGAIN!!

I have worked hard at improving my immune system and taken supplements on a daily basis, including Quercetin, Vitamins D and C>>>the C in doses of 3000 mg daily, and also an immune builder as well as several others. I have used Ivermectin only 3 times throughout. I intend to add Cod Liver oil also and have already included Selenium and Biotin.

I actually feel great physically, in spite of being almost 69 and having a rotted back (4 ruptured discs that have never been fused or physically operated on at all) and both knees clearly documented via MRI"s and the fact that the bones in my calf area are, at times, moving around, above and below each other>>>> and NOT in the way they are intended to do>>>>>but I have a MASSIVE tolerance for pain!!

There’s many who have been jabbed, that don’t fall for the continued mush coming from demon Fauci’s soup cooler. If the government thinks they have been successful controlling those already jabbed, they’re dumber than a box of rocks. The jabbed might fight harder than those not.

As I stated above, I had a known exposure August 20th. To add to that, I have had two medical appointments since. Both asked me covid questions before proceeding to the exam room, which included asking if I had been exposed to covid.

Being a senior citizen subject to bouts of forgetfulness, I just forgot the exposure and told them "no". My fear was being tested and having to go through a whole bunch of hoops filled with threats that I best get the shots, getting the test, that I have covid, etc. Point to be made here is I fear the government bullshit, not the virus itself.

With covid incubation being 2 - 14 days, I'm out of the woods, no symptoms. Give it one more week and I will feel as though I beat the bastards.

This has turned into a complete sh*t show.

The narrative has changed more times than I can keep track. All the while, with each twist and turn, the public confidence and belief in TPTB has dropped.

Now, they’re in a panic because nobody (sane) believes their nonsense.

I was in dozens of homes where one or more people had COVID (or flu- the Amish don't get tested unless hospitalized), hubby has had it for sure twice... I've never had symptoms. I did have a mild sniffle/head cold in fall of 2020 when hubby was pretty sick with it. At that time, they were saying COVID didn't produce any cold symptoms...

Yes they said the jab wouldn't stop the spread from the beginning, just supposed to keep you from dying or severe symptoms. So he's using a known fact to alter the naratve in order to control the masses. Typical communist tactic.

A control freak in a lab coat has no say when it comes to my family plans over the holidays.

Judging by the size of football and baseball crowds lately, it looks like a whole lot of people have told him to pound sand.

And, who would listen to this little creep and NOT have a Holiday gathering?

The list of potential Covid symptoms was always ridiculous. Remember "Covid Toes"?

I had an unusually bad cold back in November last year. We ended up calling off Thanksgiving due to it and my aunt's tour of the South; it was unusual for me because most of my colds are head-focused. Sinuses especially. But this one was down in my chest. That was out of the ordinary enough to make us reconsider.
