Is it possible to set up another forum that would be available just for images?

Each thread could be about the type of images, like

Maps: Middle East
Maps: Asia
Our Pets
Our Families
Videos: 2008 Elections
Videos: Econ
Videos: Stupid People Tricks
Videos: Crime

etc? I know a lot of people post their images on the threads to which they apply, but I think it'd be really helpful going into the late summer and fall to have a forum for specific images.

It would make finding a specific map much easier & all the other stuff too. Doing a forum search on words isn't going to be very helpful when we're looking for an image...

Just a thought. I have no idea how much work it would be.

and maybe put videos in there too......lots of people on dial-up who maybe have problems with large files slowing their loading down?

Then you have all your maps, charts in one place for reference.....e.g. Oil charts, Economics, Hurricanes & earthquakes, Disasters.

And a place for personal type photos......is this possible to do without too much trouble.

property this thing would take up. I'm thinking long might not work so good because long usually mean bigger.

And I wouldn't know how to put any kind of brake on uploading something too big... Admin?

Also, the file is not going to be any faster to download here than from anywhere else if you're on a dial-up, Laurane.

If a person is on dialup.....

they can choose to not go to the place the graphic/videos are stored - then the main page would be faster loading? That is what I meant.....I am not computer-literate, obviously.

I think I see what you mean. I think we're talking about two different things.

Yes, the main page loads faster if there aren't a lot of graphics on it.

What I was talking about is that downloading space-intensive graphics from anywhere on the internet is going to take just as long for a dialup. I think, lol. I've certainly been wrong about computer stuff.
