I just started looking for one to replace my 15 year old one.
Neither Lowes or Home Depot seem to have any in my size.
I'll be checking the moms and pops

Check with you local butcher, if not caught on yet they rent freezer space. I don't know prices now. But used to be fairly reasonable.

Yeah, Dennis had a whole thread on the problem a few days ago. Crazy times. Apparently, al9ng with huge demand, even though freezers are made in the US, st least one critical part is made in China.

Same down this way in East Central Texas. We tried to help a friend find one for her family - none anywhere at all. This was months ago.

Look for homemade kegerators. A lot of them are made out of freezers with a separate temp controller. Also look for restaurant/store closing sales.

Also check Facebook Marketplace. I just checked around me and there are several uprights and commercial display freezers for sale. THe display ones would need a blanket or sometihng over them to improve efficiency.

My 20-year-old 20 cubic foot freezer went belly up this week. We went looking and there are none to be found. I spoke with on local appliance place (few and far between) and he said all freezer, especially the larger are on backorder until at least mid-August.

I was able to call a buddy and get ours fixed. The power surge we had fried one of the components even though it is on a surge protector. :/

Thankfully it is now up and running!

They're all over the place in SE La..from 3.6-24 cu. ft models.

But we already have a spare in the shed :)

Have you tried HomeDepot and Lowes?

yes, pretty much out of stock or extremely expensive. Its not a need but a nice to have. I want it for freezer meals. I have four already and they are full, one is a large upright.
