Buy is CLOSED--All Stock Spoken For

At this point, I am closing this buy, as all available stock is at least tentatively spoken for, based on promises to pay.

I was just offered a special allotment of surplus government-contract Pork Chops made by Mountain House in 2003. Mountain House only makes the freeze dried pork chops for the US Government, so it is rare when they are made available to the public.

The shelf life of this 2003 product remains well over 20 years. Each case weighs about 15 pounds and has 168 pork chops.

To prepare these chops, place in a pan, cover with warm water, and soak for 20-30 minutes. Then cook like any other pork chop.

I am offering these limited number of cases, first-come, first serve ... The price is below the normal WHOLESALE cost ... and you get FREE SHIPPING ... the special discounted TB2K price is $169/case.

Let me know if you want in now ... when they are gone, that's it.

(No delay on this, by the way.)

Added detail for a bulk buy: If you want 7 of these cases, I can take $42 off the total purchase.

Sounds like a great deal. Are all 200 porkchops in one container? How soon must they be used when open?

For a two person family, if all 200 are in one container, should they be used within a week? This sounds great for really big families. I couldn't eat a 100 pork chops within a week though.

Maybe I could share with my muslim friends????

Note correction--there are actually 168 pork chops in a case, not 200. Six cans in a case. So 28 chops per can. Once you open a can, you want to treat it like any other food (the cans come with plastic recloseable lids) ... the recommendation is to use it up within about three weeks.

Wow! Sounds great. PROTEIN!

Cashier's check & money orders again? I am afraid of Pay pal, heard lots of stories. Do you have good luck with pay-pal?

I have no problems with Paypal. It's really geared toward protecting the buyer (and at skewering the seller for a big cut of the action--but that's business).

That reminds me that I do need to add a Paypal fee on this buy--of $7 per case

Paypal to jcrefuge@safecastle.net

Money order/cashiers check made out to Safecastle LLC

Send to ...
Safecastle LLC
PO Box 623
Prior Lake, MN 55372

Before sending payment, do let me know the number of cases you want to be sure I don't oversell the limited quantity.

JC, just pay-pal'd $176.00 for one case.

I'm still mad at myself for not getting in the last buy - but I am such a low carb type of person that the thought of all the high carb meals freak me out.

Pork chops, well, that's a different story.

I did try the beef stroganoff (test buy to try out) and it was wonderful.

Thanks,

dd

JCR,

Put us down for one case. I'll get the MO in the mail tomorrow, too late today...

Tried PMing you, but your permissions are turned off, I guess. You need to let me know your name so your order is properly credited. I expect that by the time your payment arrives, all the available cases will be spoken for.

What's the usual going rate for something like this? How much are we saving? Hope I am not offending.....don't mean too but the person that will go half with me wants to know. Thanks.

PLEASE NOTE CORRECTION:

There are actually 168 pork chops in a case, 28 chops per can. A serving size is 2 chops per serving. Sorry for originally misstating the total.

Put me down for one case. I will do Paypal again.

How is MH doing on shipping the special? I was hoping part of it would have come by now.

I need to know who you are before I can try to answer your question specifically. You can email or PM me.

Generally, as stated in the other current/recent thread, there are no changes in shipping expectations. Mountain House is working overtime to restock their inventory and respond to a continuing deluge of orders. It may be that they will try to ship all or most of your order at once rather than in dribs and drabs. They still expect to have all of the food procuced and shipping by as late as mid-May.

There is not an MSRP on these cans as it is government contract stuff. However, if I follow the standard formula for wholesale/retail, I would expect that IF these were retailed, they would go for almost $60/can, new.

Boneless or bone-in ?

What's the serving size in ounces ?

I don't know if it's boneless or not, but my guess is not. Each chop before being rehydrated is less than one ounce.

2 cases here! :ld: Paypal'd you already JC.

These deals are great and exactly what we need as its become hard to continue to lengthen our preps with our 3 teenagers growing appetites. A few weeks back I realized our preps won't go as far as I thought because of their increased eating thats consuming food about 33% quicker than just a few months ago. So the pantry not only empties quicker, you have to buy more just to hold a line. Not to mention also doing college funds.

Can't think of much worse than seeing a major SHTF crisis where a family goes hungry.

I need to drift the thread here just a little.......sorry.

Have all of you folks who are using paypal given bank information and been verified? I somehow get all queasy at the thought of doing that...... I guess I just want to know if you ladies and gentlemen have done so.......

It is a safety thing. :D

I would like to use paypal.......just gutless to do so. :D

Yeah, that's right, I want you all to tell me it is okay. :D

Thanks

I am verified but this account is only used for paypal transactions and I don't keep much in there.

dreamseer, I had a guy burn me on ebay for $125.00. I filed a complaint, we went thru the complaint process, and paypal reimbursed me a large percent of my $125.00, and took on the burden of dealing with the thief to try to recoup the loss, plus he was banned from ebay and paypal..

The only real annoyance is you will get people fishing and sending you emails trying to get your personal info to break into your acccount. As long as you don't get nailed by sales scammers, and never respond to emails fishing for personal information and keep your business on the site only, you should be safe.

JC's obviously trustworthy and reliable. Banks and credit card companies themselves have serious security problems that to me seem like a bigger threat than paypal when its used in a secure and safe conscientous fashion. Their whole business relys on having a high standard of user saftey and not having their customers victimized - verification helps do that for both buyer and seller and prevents bogus accounts.

Thank you for your detailed information on your experience.....it is much appreciated.

I would like to pay for this group purchase with paypal but I am not set up at this moment.

I think tomorrow I will go put some money into my other account and just keep that one for doing online business.

Paypal gets there to the seller in a much more efficient way and timewise.....

that is the reason I did a little thread drift.

Thanks to all.

JC.....I will let you know tomorrow in a PM the method of payment.......if I change it....otherwise it stays they way we agreed.

You'll be at the top of the list, Bigfeet.

If anyone else wants to stand in line for cases that come available due to failure to pay, take a number right here in this thread.
