Such panic and blame. Can't there be less of this on this board and more logical examination. Six of 18 children in my grandchild's room were out last week due to #68. Whose fault is that? Everyone I know adult or child is coming down with this respiratory virus. Whose fault. You do not know if something is going viral until after the fact.

Many questions should be examined when looking at Ebola. I have neither heard of read anything about what is happening in the countries of Europe. Or India, or China who has many many workers in Africa. So...where are the cases there? Has anyone on this board not expected to see cases here in US. The most cases of non Africans are coming in health care personnel.

We are having dangerous rises in children with whooping cough, and now measles, and #68.

Obama cannot stop a virus, a cold, a flu, whooping cough or measles. Get real.

Well of course not...but he can stop people in the affected nations from being allowed entrance to our country!

True, but HE at worst created this problem and at best is not doing anything to stop it (like stopping people from Ebola ravaged countries coming here and creating a viable southern border).

One point O's voters/DEMS will come to regret in response to the govt action/inaction is that a virus does not distinguish between people (as opposed to his punish my enemies and reward my friends style of govt).

# 1: i take it you approve of (coughretch) "President" Obama, so therefore any question of what he does regarding allowing immigration of persons potentially carrying a deadly and incurable virus is not to be allowed.

#2: How you can compare Ebola to Whooping Cough and Measles----this tells me you have read NOTHING of the MANY MANY LONG threads here that talk about WHAT ebola IS and how DIFFERENT and DEADLY it is. You need to READ those threads and EDUCATE yourself before you comment further.

#3: How on earth does it MATTER what the governments of European nations, India, or China are doing about ebola? It is US, and OUR citizens HERE, and OUR families, that we are concerned about.

To be "logical," you must speak from FACT, not emotion.

What we have BEEN expressing is FACT (which you will see is true if you DO the research) and our amazement that those FACTS are being IGNORED by those in power who are charged with PROTECTING us. THAT is NOT "panic"--though yes it IS "blame"--and BLAME WELL DESERVED.

I can, I'd bet all were brought in to the USA due to O/DEM open border policy to change our demographics.
Heck, I know I read a former British Labor govt member recently has admitted their open border policies were meant to create a new populace--same thing here.

For the record, Ebola is 100% preventable. It can be prevented by disallowing contact. It was not a virus in the wild in north america.
He specifically rescinded the CDC quarantine protocols - which were specific for Ebola - in 2010.
He refused to implement vigorous immigration enforcement.
This is documented. It is logical.
As far as D68, this is a virus common to central america where the illegal immigrant children are coming from.
Once again, geography is no longer a barrier since Barak Hussain Obama IS encouraging, aiding and abetting these little criminal disease factories.

As to panic, blame, emotion and logic, where is yours? Where is you logic?
emotion. 6 0f 18 were out last week.
this is Barak Obama's fault.
You do not know if something is going viral until after the fact.
Incorrect. You know if something is viral if it contains virus. No one tested. They were hidden away and distributed in secret to every nook and cranny in the country.

Obama can stop this virus. By quarantining West Africa. What is cheaper, making someone from a quarantine region stay in isolation in the quarantine for 21 days
or
letting anyone come here and then try to sort out who has and has not been exposed.

GREAT POST, RAVEN. My DH and I are sitting up here in the wilds of PNW Canada thinking the obvious: you can't randomly introduce significant amounts of third world people into our world without consequences. That's what medical vetting through legal immigration is all about. What has been, and is being, done as we watch in stunned amazement amounts to dangerously reckless behaviour by our officials. The fact that this is so obvious is frightening. It's as though our reasonably safe environment is being destroyed before our eyes - including our financial stability which is being put in even greater jeopardy than it already is. It seems we are being hit from multiple directions all at once. I've never seen such a disturbing set circumstances in my lifetime, and I've been around for awhile.

So they put these two in isolation, including the father, in his own hasmat attire, BUT let everybody else on the plane off with a "buh bye"? I must be losing my friggin mind here. If if has been absolutely proven by the authorities that ebola has been ruled out, then WHY are they being isolated at the hospital. (and for the record, how did some asshat at cdc come on the plane, look at this guy and say "oh yeah, it's not ebola, no problem" the guy must have friggin superpowers or something. Geeze this crap gets crazier as the days go by.

Is Ebola now just 10 miles from New York? CDC officials rush to Newark Airport in full hazmat suits to meet Liberian passenger flying from Brussels who 'showed symptoms of the disease'

CDC officials have rushed to Newark Liberty International Airport after a passenger believed to be from Liberia showed symptoms of Ebola. The man traveling with his daughter on a United Airlines flight from Brussels was reported vomiting as they landed in New Jersey. They were both removed from the plane by a CDC crew in full Hazmat attire, ABC reported. Other passengers were told to remain on the aircraft as the pair were taken away. Welsh passenger Paul Chard tweeted a picture of immigration officials on board the plane (left), adding: 'Drama on the flight from BRU, pax taken off by CDC, we are stuck on the plane, Immigration staff now on!' The man is believed to have flown from Liberia via Brussels, Belgium - the same route taken by Thomas Eric Duncan, the first person to be diagnosed with Ebola in the United States. Duncan is now being treated for the disease in Dallas, Texas, and 10 people linked to him have been classed as 'high risk'.

CDC officials have rushed to Newark Liberty International Airport after a passenger believed to be from Liberia showed symptoms of Ebola.
The man, said to be 35 years old, traveling with his daughter, reported to be around 10, on a United Airlines flight from Brussels was vomiting as they landed in New Jersey at 1.50pm today.
They were both removed from the plane by a CDC crew wearing full Hazmat attire and taken to University Hospital in Newark, airport officials said.
It comes as the Ebola patient in Texas is said to have deteriorated to a 'critical' condition.

The remaining passengers have now been allowed to leave after being forced to stay on the plane then wait in immigration.
One man - who got through customs and almost out of the airport before officials changed their minds and told him to stay - spoke of the confused response from the airport and health officials which left he and his fellow passengers in the dark.
Despite reports claiming the passenger was found to be noncontagious after initial examinations, the New York and New Jersey Port Authority told MailOnline the passenger was not cleared at the airport and has since been taken to hospital.
He has since been seen arriving at University Hospital in a wheelchair wearing protective overalls, gloves and a surgical mask.

Texas patient: Thomas Duncan became the first person to be diagnosed with the disease in the United States

The man is believed to have flown from Liberia via Brussels, Belgium - the same route taken by Thomas Eric Duncan, the first person to be diagnosed with Ebola in the United States.
Duncan's condition has today been classed as 'critical' as he is treated for the disease in Dallas, Texas. Ten people linked to him have been classed as 'high risk'.
Today's possible case brought chaos and confusion to the airport - to the bewilderment of waiting passengers, who were not told about that the emergency was linked to Ebola for more than an hour.
Rich Burchett, a passenger on the flight who was sitting close to the potential Ebola victim, told how the man's face was covered with a mask and he was rushed to the back of the plane when flight attendants found he came from Liberia.
He said: 'Once they found out he was from Liberia they put a mask on him and his daughter, then they got him out of his seat and took him to somewhere at the back of the plane.'
Mr Burchett, who said he was 'very nervous' for his own health when he heard there was a risk of Ebola risk, told CNN that he was moved away from the area into another part of the plane after the man had been taken away.

He added that he did not see the man vomit while on board the plane - though officials were clear that this did occur at some point.
However he said after the CDC had boarded the plane and taken the man away, he and the other passengers were at first allowed to go - but then called back.
He said: 'After we got in the airport I went right through customs, I was in baggage maybe 10 minutes'.
Then he said an announcement was made in the airport telling staff to stop anybody who had been on the plane from leaving - which led to Mr Burchett and others being held for hours.
CDC representatives said the passengers were being held because of 'an abundance of caution'. They took passenger contact details then let them continue - some to onward flights.
Mr Burchett characterized the airport response as chaotic, adding that it raised questions about how a more contagious disease could be handled.
He said the situation was 'very uncoordinated inside the airport. Lots of people were giving directions - sometimes they were conflicting'.
An official statement from airport authorities referred only to an 'ill customer'.

Quarantined: Ten people have been assessed as 'high risk' and evacuated for Hazmat to sanitize the area

It said: 'Upon arrival at Newark Airport from Brussels, medical professionals instructed that customers and crew of United flight 988 remain on board until they could assist an ill customer.'
'We are working with authorities and will accommodate our customers as quickly as we can.'
Welsh passenger Paul Chard tweeted a picture of immigration officials on board the plane, adding: 'Drama on the flight from BRU, pax taken off by CDC, we are stuck on the plane, Immigration staff now on!'
The 261 passengers were then handed leaflets titled, 'Possible Exposure: Ebola. What you need to do'.
It read: 'You are being given this card because a sick person who might have been exposed to Ebola sat near you on a plane OR had contact with you in an airport.
'Spread of Ebola on a plane or in an airport is NOT likely. However, CDC is being extra careful to ensure you safety.
'In the next few days, a public health official will let you know if the sick person has Ebola or not.
'If the person has Ebola, you will be evaluated and given additional instructions.
'If the person does NOT have Ebola, no further action is needed.'
It goes on to explain that 'Ebola is a severe, often fatal disease that spreads through direct contact with an infected person'.
At the bottom of the leaflet there is a note for passengers to hand to their doctors, explaining the situation and advising that they be examined.
The incident comes just a day after the government conceded that its handling of the crisis has so far been 'rocky' as Thomas Duncan is treated for the disease in Texas and 10 people are now classed as 'high risk'.
The handling of the Dallas case in the early stages of Duncan's illness has raised questions about how prepared local and national health officials were to handle that case and whether people were unnecessarily exposed.
CDC head: First priority is protecting Americans from Ebola
video-undefined-21F29CA300000578-220_636x358.jpg

Dr Anthony Fauci, a director at the National Institutes of Health, insisted to reporters at the White House that although it 'may be entirely conceivable' that there would be another Ebola case in the United States, the strength of the healthcare infrastructure 'would make it extraordinarily unlikely that we would have an outbreak.'
Authorities have narrowed their focus to about 50 people who had direct or indirect contact with the infected Liberian visitor, including 10 at high risk who are being checked twice daily for symptoms.
Dr Fauci said contact tracing is 'now' going on, five days after Duncan was hospitalized.
Officials were asked at a news conference why the patient was able to get past screening in his journey from Liberia on September 19 and then be sent home after telling a Dallas hospital a few days later about his travel to a country where there had been an Ebola outbreak.
The case has put authorities and the public on alert over concerns that the worst epidemic of Ebola on record could spread from West Africa, where it began in March. The World Health Organization on Friday updated its death toll to at least 3,439 out of 7,492 suspected, probable and confirmed cases. The epidemic has hit hardest in impoverished Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea.
At Friday's news conference, White House adviser Lisa Monaco was asked whether she would recommend to President Barack Obama that he impose a travel ban on West Africa, as some public officials have called for.
'Right now we believe those types of steps actually impede the response,' Monaco said.

There's been plenty of posts about Europe, India and China in the big Ebola threads, you might want to start reading them,
I don't see any panic in the Ebola threads just a whole lot of anger at the failure of your government to take the necessary steps to prevent an out break and protect its citizens,

Below (taken from BorderGuard's Post 63) about says it all.================================>

“It’s a concern not only for me but for every one of us,” Liberian Jah Zauyan, 44, said as he waited for three friends, who are also Liberian, to deplane.

“We don’t want this virus to spread … You hope it’s nothing. We don’t know how long they will keep them or where they will bring them. This is scary for the sick one,” Zauyan added.

“Someone comes to a strange land and they have to grab them and take them somewhere.”

Better here than in Africa, noted Liberian native Joshua Brown, as he waited for friends at Gate 53. By 4 p.m., he was still waiting — and indication that passengers whose flights had originated in Liberia were being held longer.

“I’m not worried for them,” Brown told The Post of his friends. ‘Because they are coming from Africa, and America is a better place to be” if you have Ebola, he noted.

All the people brought here are cured from Ebola, but there they die. America is a great country.”

However he said after the CDC had boarded the plane and taken the man away, he and the other passengers were at first allowed to go - but then called back.

He said: 'After we got in the airport I went right through customs, I was in baggage maybe 10 minutes'.

The reason Mr. Duncan got into the USA, after knowing he had been exposed to Ebola, was he used our wide open border system to do so. The fact the borders in the USA are wide open to illegal immigrants, terrorists, and Ebola infected people is due to the political decisions made by Obama and his cronies. It is due to the corporations who want cheap labor. It is due to the Democrats who want illegals as voters. Since Obama, his Democrats, the Corporations are directly responsible for the open border situation, which in turn is directly responsible for Mr. Duncan being in Dallas and infecting people with Ebola, there is a direct link between the looming Ebola epidemic and President Barack Obama, his Democrat open border crowd.

It will take a while, but Obama is going to be impeached for treason since he did nothing to seal our borders, or restrict air travel from West Africa.

I think obamas plan is to use this as much as posable to cancel the November midterm elections.
So its to his advantage and spread as much disease around as quickly posable.

VERY disturbing situation!

I got pissed at Fox News yakking that the patient didn't have Ebola...after one hour? I thought those tests took something on the order of three days.

Sure...apologists and excuse makers will say it could be flu, malaria or a bunch of other maladies. That may well be true in some cases but a crowded airplane on the ground in a busy international airport is not the time or place to make that judgement.

Enough is enough! Close the damn borders AND temporarily invalidate all passports from Africa. Political correctness has obliterated common sense and most of us are not prepared for the consequences thereof.

Here's the rub, and I've written about this in other threads here: NO amount or sophistication of ANY "healthcare infrastructure" can prevent the outbreak of a pandemic. This is patently false, because "healthcare infrastructures" are REACTIVE. The RESPOND to people coming to them with symptoms. The presence of a hospital or clinic in a certain location DOES NOT somehow repel a contagious disease. In fact the case can well be made that centralized points of care, under the right circumstances, can actually SPREAD disease.

This guy deserves to be in prison for impersonating a competent professional, and for directly lying to the public to the publics harm.

What are you talking about?

The news feed is saying that the CDC stated the man on the flight did not have Ebola. Statement was made after 1 hour of involvement. In order to make that kind of statement as a fact you would have to have some kind of "test" which was instantaneous and 100% accurate. CG is being sarcastic.

Dear God in Heaven please protect the young and innocent. Protect your children both young and old. Please put some intellegent people in charge of this instead of these stupid pc people.
Have mercy on us.
Amen

I can't believe they let all those passengers off that plane and allowed them to go on to wherever...
We are in so much trouble.
I was thinking exactly the same thing...they let them ALL GO HOME?????????

Folks watching this on the TV have little gears turning in the backs of their brains. The gears are saying "Gee, the flu is something you get in a situation like this, isn't it?" and "If this Ebola thing is worse than the flu and this guy was throwing up ... what about all the other people on the plane?" and their guts are gonna feel a little funny as they listen to the rest of the reporting about how the "authorities" are sure he doesn
t have Ebola and all the people on the plane are being released to go their seperate ways...and then they are going to look over at their kids...

Anyone who thinks that "they" are going to start telling the truth, is dead wrong. The media has let zero and his admin get away with lying for years now, and nothing is going to change that. Besides, even if they did start pointing out the lies, who would believe them?

Here's some more rub...the Daily Mail is a British borderline TABLOID...and thus far...the only source for these details. I'm scrutinizing this carefully.

Sick passenger investigated for Ebola at Newark airport

http://nypost.com/2014/10/04/sick-passenger-investigated-for-ebola-at-newark-airport/

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention officials scrambled to meet a United Airlines flight from Brussels at Newark Airport on Saturday afternoon, after a passenger believed to be from Ebola-wracked Liberia exhibited signs of the deadly virus.

The queasy passenger — who a law enforcement source said had been vomiting — and his daughter, who appeared to be about 10 years old, were fitted with surgical masks and were walked off United Airlines Flight 998 by CDC personnel in white hazmat uniforms.

The father and daughter, whose names were not released, remained in quarantine last night at University Hospital in Newark, the law enforcement source said.

The father had been outfitted from neck to toe in his own hazmat suit, his face still masked, by the time he was wheeled into the hospital’s trauma center
.
The CDC and the hospital were releasing no information on the father’s condition as of early Saturday evening.

The remaining passengers aboard the United Airlines flight 998 were held on the Boeing 777-200 twin engine jet for about two hours, then were taken off and questioned for another couple of hours before being allowed through customs, multiple fliers told The Post.

“Two or three hours before we were supposed to land, it was announced that there was a medical emergency,” recalled passenger Dane West, of New Jersey.

“They didn’t say it could be Ebola. We really didn’t know what was wrong. When the guy walked off he didn’t look ill at all to me. He was wearing a face mask. Apparently he was sleeping and he woke up and felt air sick.”
Mark Wells, 42, of Randolf, NJ, said he and fellow passengers were puzzled at why a sick passenger was being kept on the plane.

“Then the CDC came on board in hazmat suits and they escorted him off,” Wells said of the yet-named passenger. “He looked sick, a little wobbly. The girl with him seemed fairly calm. They never said Ebola on the plane.”

Passengers described a chaotic scene of worry, disorganization and bizarre priorities. While no one mentioned Ebola, crew was specific about one thing: No photographs were to be taken.

“There was an announcement not to take any pictures,” said passenger Kengo Tomida, 30, an astrophysicist from Princeton, NJ.

Meanwhile, “I got upset on the plane,” he recalled of the 90 minute wait for CDC officials to board the plane.

“If it was Ebola or something serious, 90 minutes is too long to wait to take [the sick passenger] off the plane,” he said.

“Then when we got off the plane we had to fill out a long form with out contact information, name and address. No doctor examined us… it was not organized,” he said.

Airport officials eventually told them they were not at risk, passengers said.

“We were told it was nothing infectious,” said Tomida.

“The message they gave us was it wasn’t contagious,” said passenger Wells.

It is unclear how many Liberians had been on the plane. Brussels airlines had a Friday night flight out of Monrovia, Liberia’s capital; that flight connected to United Airlines, according to online records.

“The crew reported (during the flight) that a person was vomiting, and that Liberians were aboard the plane,” a law enforcement source told The Post.

“The person throwing up is believed to be Liberian,” the source said.

The jet had just completed a seven-hour flight across the Atlantic, and as it sat at Gate 53, Terminal B, the five-hour wait once the plane landed seemed to be an eternity to family members at the airport.

“It’s a concern not only for me but for every one of us,” Liberian Jah Zauyan, 44, said as he waited for three friends, who are also Liberian, to deplane.

“You hope it’s nothing. This is scary for the sick one,” Zauyan added.

“Someone comes to a strange land and they have to grab them and take them somewhere.”

Better here than in Africa, noted Liberian native Joshua Brown, as he waited for friends at Gate 53.

“I’m not worried for them,” he told The Post. ‘Because they are coming from Africa, and America is a better place to be” if you have Ebola, he noted.
“All the people brought here are cured from Ebola but there they die. America is a great country.”

Meanwhile, the first Ebola patient diagnosed in the US took a turn for the worse at a Dallas hospital Saturday, slipping from serious to critical condistion. Nine other people, including family members and health care workers, remain under isolation due to having had close contact with the patient, who caught ill in Liberia.

I just want to say a big thank you to all you superbly skilled members for keeping us all informed.
I haven't been commenting because for once my tongue is tied at the horrendous stupidity of our country's officials.
Thanks again. You know who you are.
