My youngest goes to school there. The stories... skank OD passing out on horn in car below his dorm window getting all combative when the cops narcan her. Gun battles between cars racing down the street with at least one in the wrong lane. Non-stop sirens. Murder at closest pizza joint 1/8 mile from dorm. Bullet holes found in random spaces.

Can't wait for him to graduate and GTFO of there.

I live about 40 minutes from Hartford, and haven't been there in about 30 years. North Hartford has been lost to the drug culture since the 80s. Basically, if you were white and nobody knew you, you didn't go there. Black and brown only.

In 40 years, I don't know if who is controlling the streets has changed. The mayor and police certainly had/have zero control. If the armed citizens interrupt street profits, someone might be made an example of.

The moment one of them has to use their gun, all hell is going to break loose, and the shooter(s) will end up on trial for their lives. You can’t do something like this in a communist enclave. You'll be made an example of.

Absolutely! Kyle Rittenhouse was a fluke. Few, if any, will be as lucky as he was.

Summer of 2004, flew into Hartford with my husband, our destination was the Berkshires to collect our daughter who had been working at a summer camp in Massachusett. We rented a car and left the airport and got lost. I have to say that I have never been so terrified in my life as I was while we were lost in a low-income residential area of Hartford. It was honestly a ghetto. It was terrifying and we were very naive. We also stopped at a gas station in the area to get coffee and use the bathroom, I swear to God the walls of the bathroom were covered with blood in places. I did not see any other white people and my husband and I got the strangest looks, it took us a while, but not too, too long, to clue in that we were absolutely out of place. As we were trying to get out of the area we were stopped at a roadblock and officers asked us where we were trying to go. We told them we were lost and they gave us directions to get out of the area, adding that we should get out of the area as soon as possible because we did not belong there. The officers looked concerned for us, which heightened our fear.

Hartford is a shit pit these days and this is what it has come to, armed citizens taking care of their own. Now we'll see if the asshole mayor starts having them harrassed by the PD for being armed on the street. CT is no longer an open carry state (not that it's done anything to stop violence), so they need to make sure they are totally concealed carry. There are some areas in the north end of hartford that are truly "no go" zones and have been that way for years.
