TRANS Boeing 757-200 forced to divert to Denver after a chunk of the wing came off mid-flight.

Whatever that part is it must be an easy repair, the plane was back int eh air 2.5 hours latter.
Got a source for that? It might take that to replace the slat, but it's a way bigger job to repair the damage underneath. I'm skeptical.

Go to my post 12 and git the flight aware link and you can see it leaving Denver.
May have been on its way to a maintenance facility, crew only. The damage to the wing was not fixed in a couple hours. Or maybe they put it back in service like that. Not a comforting thought.

I had a friend who flew in WWII. He said it is amazing how much can be shot off of a plane, an engine, a flap, part of a wing, a horizontal stabilizer on one side, part of the vertical stab and holes all over what have you. And the planes make it back and land.

Pride comes before the fall.....Pride month ended.
I'd say bird strike at some point that likely deteriorated further over time. Not bad, as such things go. Seemed the aluminum behind it was crinkled a bit as well.
