When i was ten years of age i performed my own circumcision. I saved the foreskin and and had it made into a billfold. If you stroke it just right it will turn into luggage.

I am not inclined to challenge the wisdom of God. In the Old Testament He required it as an outward sign of HIS PEOPLE.
In the New Testament He no longer required it of the Gentile believers.

When the missus and I were planning to have children (before we found out we couldn't have them) that and what religion they would be raised up in were things we disagreed on. i wanted no circumcision and raised Baptist. the missus wanted circumcision and Catholic.

As it were, no children. But I can see where it could raise some arguments. TBear ended up Methodist anyway

I don’t know the answer to this question, but it is a fact that Jewish males are commanded to be circumscised.

Take it from someone who's been circumcised twice.. The second out of loving rededication..

It's not as bad as getting a tattoo.. something I removed.. (also painful) because I was a lowly sinner.. Circumcision and the bondservant piercing are the only body modifications allowed by God.

WHY would anyone choose to be circumcised?

Because you will NOT be allowed into God's Passover if you are not circumcised, according to Exodus 12:48-49. Specifically the Passover celebration God keeps in His heavenly temple.

Why would any human choose to be left out of a heavenly celebration?

Because THAT is what is being discussed in this thread. Your choice to exclude yourself from the things of God. EVEN if you've received eternal life through Yeshua..

Don't confuse salvation with storing up treasures in heaven. Salvation gets you through the Pearly Gates. It doesn't hand you everything on a silver platter.

In order to lay up treasure in heaven, you must do so via righteous deeds on earth. Works based inheritance.. rather than works based salvation.

Not quite, as i read it.
Your works, If I read it correctly, should be tin the spirit and to the glory of Jesus Christ,, not yourself, as an especially loving person, without reference to Christ.

Anyone that will be making this decision will hopefully be motivated to find the research that shows that circumcision is not a good idea. Circumcision has a profound effect on the ability of sexual partners to forge a deeper bond.

What does that even mean?
