I don't know about power, but I like Hamilton Beach because they are easy to clean, easy to find at Target, and not overly pricey if there's a sale. I mostly use it for smoothies, though. I'd probably make hummus in an actual food processor, not a blender.

(I have hummus about 1 - 2 times a year -- I buy it pre-made at Hyvee since I eat it so rarely.)

This. All of the this. The Ninja works quickly, goes through anything, and mine has lasted for YEARS.

Cleaning is also super easy. You can fill it with dish soap and hot water, and run it. Then it's clean. Or you can wash it straight; it's roughly the size of a regular drinking glass.

Ninja, hands down. Mine has the blender, food processor and smoothie cups. 15 years and still going. And it gets used a lot.

I've had a ninja for a few years. Can't say anything bad about it. But I don't use it that much.

I have a smaller Kitchen Aid Food processor. That thing is awesome. It has two settings on, chop and puree. I use it to mostly chopped up the foods for The Hubs. It doesn't take up a bunch of counter space as it's only a 3.5 cup which I can get a lot in it. It's reasonably priced at $49 from Amazon. Easy to handle and clean up.
