President Biden said Friday he plans to request additional funding from Congress for the development of a new COVID-19 vaccine, adding he may require everyone to take it whether they previously received a vaccine or not.

Biden, who is vacationing in the Lake Tahoe area, was asked by a reporter on Friday if he could say anything about the uptick of COVID cases and a new variant.

"Yes, I can," the president said. "I signed off this morning on a proposal we have to present to Congress a request for additional funding for a new vaccine that is necessary, that works."He added, "Tentatively it is recommended that it will likely be recommended everybody get it no matter whether they’ve gotten it before or not."

A $40 million funding request to Congress from the White House on Aug. 11 did not mention coronavirus money, but included money for Ukraine, U.S. federal disaster funds, and funds to bolster the enforcement along the U.S.-Mexico border to slow the flow of fentanyl into the U.S.

In 2022, the Biden administration requested $9.25 billion to fight the virus, but congressional lawmakers refused the request.

The Associated Press said officials are expecting an updated COVID-19 vaccine containing one version of the omicron strain called XBB.1.5.

The new vaccine is a change from today’s combination shots, which mix the original coronavirus strain with last year’s most common omicron variants.

As coronavirus continues to mutate, there will always be a need to update vaccines.

Next month, people will begin to receive the annual fall COVID-19 shot, as Pfizer, Moderna and Novavax are working on doses of the XBB update.

Still, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will need to sign off on each vaccine, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention must issue recommendations for their use.

The new booster program would come nearly a year after Biden declared the COVID-19 pandemic "over" in September 2022, though he said, "We're still doing a lot of work on it."

It should be noted that the CPC will serve another purpose to an embattled Administration - "diversion" of media spotlight AWAY from the Administrative malfeasance.

Enforced HARD and repeatedly, the social upset this will create will effectively "mask" further and additional insults to human spirit.

Not to say they won't try to mandate it, but the headline is clickbait. Tentatively recommended and required are two very different things.

To be fair, though, "recommend" can turn into "require" pretty fast. I have no problem with them "recommending" things, but when they start "requiring", I've got issues with that.

There is a big big big difference between enforced mandatory vaccinations and then with totally recommending everyone take the new vaccine. Then if they go with enforced mandatory vaccinations, then just how how will it be enforced do ask? Plus how many people still have their guns and know how to use them. Do not think it has the force of law if only from some action of FJB. And am thinking it might not pass thru the Republican House for all of the Conservative Rebels that are there at the moment. If it does become mandatory then it will surely be appealed to the Supreme Court guaranteed. Then there is all this about the US dollar and BRICS with all in an election year to boot. There is going to be some big big fireworks going on do think.

Maybe a good time to live in the wilderness away from it all!

So politicians typically try to avoid upsetting the retired on SS because they are a large voting block.

If the neo cons insist on "vaccine shots" to keep getting SS payments, they are going to have a lot of very angry people to deal with.

ETA: the neo-cons/Leftists/Globalist just keep on pushing the envelope. It's almost like they want to start the festivities. Somewhere, at some point, they will find the tipping point. They must be confident that they control the situation to their favor.

The problem with fedgov recommending it is that the recommendation becomes a green light for corporations and other organizations to mandate it same as last time.

Come on man, no one is going to force you to take the jab, but you won't be able to keep your job or shop stores or eat at restaurants or enter public buildings or attend school or seek medical care... but no one made you take it.

This is true. So many of the Wall Street Types have adopted the "assured return" of a Chinese financial underpinning - they don't see the danger to themselves in the money they earn - but only do their master's bidding.

AND - every government "petty tyrant" graduated from a college of "Marxist Thought" with a minor in political expediency - and they are determined to follow where their drover's blinders tell them where to go.

The Marxist take-over is well established.

And we (I eat too) have done it to ourselves.

Why bother to conquer a country militarily - it's so messy. When you can buy a country from a willing seller?
