I apologize - between work, grandkids, and the holiday, I didn't have time to start this thread until now.
Do take a look at last week's thread; Ivan the Russian had an interesting post about trapping!
Got one grandson a set of walkie talkies for Christmas and discovered that they had quite the range lol! The boys spent some time talking with several folks in town (monitored, of course!) and daughter is working out a 'house channel'. I forsee some of their friends across town getting walkie talkies as presents during their upcoming birthday parties Good prep item, as well as lots of fun!
Hubby and I usually do not exchange gifts (maybe some ammo for birthdays, etc...) but this year the shop where he works got in a small Kawasaki Mule as a trade in, so he swapped an older bike he'd rebuilt for the Mule, and sent me a text with a photo and 'Merry Christmas!' I will get to go by the shop and visit it in a week or so; he's cleaning it up, doing some minor repairs and a tune up on it during his down time at work. I will be so happy not to have to hitch the trailer up to the lawn tractor to haul small loads of this or that across the farm
I'm off to a basketball tournament/cheer competition with daughter and the grands later this morning; with only one other quick stop planned at the thrift store to find a dress shirt for Hubby to wear to a wedding later this week - he has one dress shirt, but it is the same color as the bridesmaids dresses, so he will need a different one.
While I'm at the game, Hubby - who has the day off as well - will be going the other direction to take the ham his boss gave him for Christmas to his Mama, and to stop by the shop to work on the Mule a bit while no one is there to bug him. He'll stop on the way home to pick up some suet for my birds, plus a new 10 or 12 foot step ladder - we're getting to an age where teetering on the top of the ladder to do chores around the place has lost it's appeal - well, that; plus I break easily when I fall nowadays, so would rather have something a little more sturdy under me than our old ladders that are even older than me
We are supposed to get more snow on Friday and Saturday, so I need to go down to the basement storeroom and dig out the snow boots I bought on clearance last year for $5/pair - at that price, I bought an assortment of sizes so not only have them for all three grandkids, but also a new pair for ME as well! And best of all - the pair in my size are neon green, so they'll be able to find me if I end up head first in a snowbank
Hmmm.... somehow my coffee cup has turned up empty - guess that means it's time to grab a refill before I go find my purple sweatshirt and head out to warm up the van; it's 8*F BRRRRR!!
Take care all; have a wonderful week!
