I have slowly been purchasing items to round out a full set of body armor, and a helmet was the last piece of equipment that I needed. Everywhere I'd looked lately was backordered months out, so it wasn't useful to order from any of the companies I'd found so far.
Today I got lucky, and ironically it was thanks to FaceBorg...I got an ad for Cold Dead Hands, an outfit that sells a wide variety of field gear. I was able to order a level IIIA modern ballistic helmet with light/nvg attachment points, etc. at a decent price, and the best part was that I should have it in hand within a couple of weeks (currently shipping within 10-12 days)! I'll update this once I've got my helmet in hand and let you know how it all went.
