I was looking for a movie and 2 steps later found this 324 file collection of older Backwoods Home articles and magazines. Enjoy.

The articles can be read on the site. You don't have to download, but this collection went straight to my electronic library; about 260MB for the .pdf version.

Main page showing individual titles: Backwoods Home : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive

There are several different download otpions including single articles, but these 3 seem to be what most would be interested in:

download link for all in .pdf: https://archive.org/compress/Backwoods_Home/formats=TEXT PDF,PDF&file=/Backwoods_Home.zip

download link for all in .epub format: https://archive.org/compress/Backwoods_Home/formats=EPUB&file=/Backwoods_Home.zip

download link for all in .mobi (kindle) format: https://archive.org/compress/Backwoods_Home/formats=KINDLE&file=/Backwoods_Home.zip

I always enjoyed reading BWH when Owner had his subscription. He is not one to keep a lot of hard-copy, but the magazine would last a couple of months in a pile outside my stall, and I'm not averse to leaning over to pick the pile.

"Dobbin - I don't mind you read the magazines but can't you be more careful and put the pile back standing when you're done?"

yea, yea.

Pass it forward...
We subscribe to the print editions of Backwoods Home and Self Reliance. It will be very handy to put these articles on our ebook readers. Thanks!

Thanks for the good comments. I thought some here would be interested.
I just did a date check on a random selection of the articles.
The article and complete magazine dates seem to all be within 1995 to 2005.

Thank you! We had a subscription for years. Now I wish we would have kept the issues.

had it until I didn't.

Always enjoyed reading it even going to the little stand to buy magazines from humans.

My brother heard me hollering kurt saxon back in the early 70's and anything I could read I accumulated back then.

Still find mel tabbapn on survival and his other works valuable.

Sent the link to my brother trying to play catchup survivalist and grabbed copy for myself.

THank you.

I have their anthologies, but this is really a cool add on. As always, I'm in your debt! Thanks!

Great articles in BH. I have several anthologies from early years and a few single copies.

I accidentally found it when library mistakenly put 2 issues on magazine rack. I was hooked.

The other day I ordered their all in one of all of their anthologies DVD. I use to buy the anthologies every year, but lost some due to poor storage, can't blame this loss on katrina, although I did lose back issues due to her.

If you are getting all of the files, they are downloaded in a single .zip file which you open on your device to extract the files.
For a kindle, I think you want the .mobi versions of the files.

You can get individual files directly in .mobi, .epub, or .pdf format.

Thanks. Now if you could find a site like that for "Mother Earth News" I and a lot of others would be very happy.
There are some mother earth news related items at this link. It's not in a nice neat package like the backwoods home articles though. You'll have to do some work to open and save individual items. I saw some magazines, a 12-part guide on raising chickens, and there is probably more. If you find something good, post about it.
