Attention Swingers! :P

The one and only...
Last year, I wrote, simply for fun, a daily serial here on TimeBomb called "The Swing." After I wrapped up the story, since it weighed in at over 110k words, I rewrote it completely, start to finish, as a much more cohesive novel. Then I continued to polish and tweak it for close to a year, although I wasn't really sure what I would do with it.

Along comes a start up company called "Grit City," who was looking for edgy SERIALS to make into 'Emotobooks.' These are serialized fiction e-books that are illustrated with abstracts at strong emotional points in the book. A completely new and interesting concept. Without thinking anything would come of it, I sent them a copy of 'Swing Zone,'since it sort of fit the description of what they were looking for. To my absolute surprise, out of dozens of respondants, they accepted it as their very first endeavor. (Outside of the company owner's story.)

From there, working with an editor, I had to completely break the novel BACK down into a serial. Ten issues at 6-9k words each, which will span an issue a month for ten months, for two seasons. (Twenty months total) This required a MASS of new content and a rewrite of quite a bit of the old. A lot of things have changed from the original to fit the 'emotobook' style, but the premise remains the same.

I invite you all to check out the first issue of the serial, which goes on sale April 1!! Swingers and new readers alike should find it an exciting ride! I'll mention it on the main page after it goes live, but I wanted to give you guys a heads up! And THANK YOU to everyone on TimeBomb who gave the story so much love to start with. I'm really excited!

The link won't bring you to the book's page until April 1...it's not available for sale before then, so he linked his own book in the meantime. It's formatted for and will be available to every form of e-reader there is.

Ok, whew! after I posted that, I started to think about the available date. lol! thanks

but I was hoping for a hard copy, no e-reader except for the Kindle for PC and amazon won't let me buy stuff for it without a credit card. which is strange because they take my check for everything else...lol! But I plan on trying!!!

and this better not be an April Fools Day joke!!! ;)

I don't have an e-reader either, honestly. I download ebooks to my computer and read them in pdf form.

Way to go Kritter. That was a fun story to read and it was fun the way you interacted with all of us as you were writing it. I just know it's going to be a smashing success.
Congratulations

Congratulations, Kritter! I thoroughly enjoyed your story and wish you the best with this new venture! I don't have any e-book whatevers either and sure didn't know, until this thread, that you can download e-books onto the pc. Have no idea how to do that, but I'll see if one of my kids can tell or show me how.

amazon has a kindle for PC which is incredibly easy to download...like literally one click, lol! ok maybe two. I've downloaded over two hundred free books from Amazon. Whatever you do ...do NOT sign up for any "program" or member thing...that costs and you do not get to "keep" your downloaded books. :) I even changed PC's and when I downloaded the Kindle for my new one, all my books were there!!! :)

once you get it downloaded, let me know and I'll give you a title or two to look for that is free. Then sometimes the recommendations below that are also free.
