topped off yesterday but I was getting down below half anyway. Added the two, five gallon cans to the fillup so I'm good for now. No issues in my part of CT but

DH is not of the same mind set as I am, since I live in the woods I always topped off whenever I went to town. And I kept several cans full of gas. Only problem with the gas cans was I could not lift them to put the gas in the vehicle. So along comes DH, he promptly burned all of my 6 gallon gas cans, he did have several of his own. A few months ago I ordered 4 new ones. I guess we have 12 cans all together, he filled 11 of them on May 5. We cycle the gas in the cans through our vehicles. He's more inclined to wait until they are all empty before refilling them. If I can manage to fill what's empty when i go to town we will be in better shape.

Split the difference and fill them when 1/2 of the cans are empty...

But, keep the vehicles topped. :D

We rotate our gas through our vehicles, its stays fresh that way. I need to go to town tomorrow and will fill up my van and any empty gas cans.

I have not read the thread yet. Listening to radio last week news said tn average gas price was 2.65 or 2.69 and I do forget which. They said a year ago it was 1.15 less.

Obviously prices are up compared to last week but honestly this sort of thing shows you should just keep things decently topped up and rotate as needed. I don't have every single thing topped off right now cause I have some old gas cans of the plastic sort that are fine for getting some mower gas and using up quickly. They really should just be thrown out and I will look at the gaskets and debate rebuilding them in a day or three.

Should I have done that already, yup.

Do I ignore my own advice, often.

But if you got a few voices in your head and they give conflicting advice someone is going to have to just be wrong now and again. :D

I keep the Blazer and the Suzuki full-drive everyday for work and whatever vehicle I drive gets topped off before going home. Wife buys gas on post when she gets to 1/2 tank (once a week essentially). Today the post gas station/class six is OUT of gas. No gas, no diesel.

I've always topped off my tank whenever it reaches half, I learned my lesson when I ran out of gas when my gauge said I had a quarter left, never again.
