Have or are you planning on topping off your vehicle, machinery, or spare containers with gasoline?

ETA: Have been slacking here in recent times. Truck has been mostly full for last 14 months. Not a lot of driving. Actually let it get down to half a tank since I had last filled up in April. Topped off Friday and kept it topped off all weekend due to driving to visit for the holiday. Did it again this morning and filled two 5 gal cans. Got a couple smaller ones I may fill later today.

No gas required here. My EV will be charged as long as the grid doesn't also go down. I only re-charge when it gets down to 25% remaining which is every 2-3 weeks based on how much or little I drive during that time.

We are usually topped off with 5+ gallons set aside for the mowers that can be used for the vehicles if needed.

So we are waiting for the weekend to see if they get things fixed. Then we will fill all of the 5 gallon containers.

The vehicles have not been allowed to go below half a tank as a general rule. As it would take us about half a tank to get anywhere safe when counting for traffic.

Being partial rural means safety from Hurricanes is at least a 60 mile drive if not more.

Still have two five-gallons from back before winter. Always keep a supply on hand for lawn mowing and snow blowing. Only needed to blow snow once this whole winter--back in mid-February, which was a surprise--and only just started mowing grass two weeks ago, so I still have plenty left. Should get some though; maybe tonight. Michigan's prices don't seem to have shifted a lot--checked GasBuddy last night--so things should still be all right.

I’m with the majority vote above, “vehicle is topped off regularly.” I also keep extra gas, just in case.

But what I have added is more food. I don’t see the ability to operate a vehicle as one’s primary threat if the pipeline stays down. Sure, it’ll be the first impact, but the potential cascading impacts, such as food and medicine distribution, would be more troublesome, and we know that the governmental response will be, shall we say, inefficient?

My normal "rule" is 1/2 is empty, doesn't always work that way as, desert_fox said "wife likes to live dangerously..."

Last April we had a 3 day power outage from a tornado, during which I added and additional 5 gallon fuel can to the stocks along with another 5 gallon can for diesel (even thought tractor is only thing that runs on it) I treat the gas with stabil (can't seem to find pri-g locally anymore) and I rotate at least one can once a month so nothing is older than 6 months.

I top off at 1/2 a tank Don't like to go below that, the kids on the other hand like to live dangerously. Our dd in Georgia is supposed to be coming up next weekend. I'm hoping that is still possible.

Just got my spring fuel delivery on saturday...300 gallons. I will use that in either an emergency, or wait until October and burn it...then deliver again, burn in April.... so, 2 months per year I'm "at risk". I burn about 15 gallons per day on average. I work 5 states, 2 states most every week in the midwest.

I also keep 200 miles of gas in the rear of the service van, which saved my ass earlier this year....

As of yesterday afternoon, no fuel disruptions in the Indy area that I noticed.

Yesterday, local price was $2.77, topped off the truck, and filled 4 ea 5 gal cans. Used Speedy Rewards, and got $ .50 off per gal. Had to go back to town last night, they had dropped price to $ 2.71. Guess I should have waited

Been chatting with a couple old Process Engineers. When i mention "Back online by the end of the week" I get chased out of the conversation with flying stir sticks and napkins!!

The consensus is that there is NFWJ they get back online before the end of --- oh---- 3rd week in May even if the Gods ALL smile on them and Mr. Murphy takes a month off.

So we are topped off (every other day henceforth) AND we have a few cans in play.
We get most of our fuel from Findlay and Detroit so it's mostly from West of the Miss, and Canada...

I bought more gas in the last five days than I have for months - but only because I was on a road trip.
I did just get a metal 55 gallon drum that I plan on using for gas storage (mainly for generator) as soon as I get it set up.

Not if you want to measure changes in behavior. Some folks might not top up regularly (but why?), but still be making an exception this time.
I’m not going to argue with a third party. Please leave it alone. I want to talk to greysage, not you.

Even when we had little money, my deceased husband said when it gets to 1/2 fill it up! He always said the last half goes faster then the first half. Probably not lols, but I made it a habit. I’m surprised how many people let it get next to empty!

He was right though. Fuel gauges aren’t displaying linear but logarithmically. Takes forever to move from full to a tick less, and once the needle is past half, it goes quickly.

During the good times with Trump, we got in the bad habit of not keeping them full. I regret that today. My husband said Ingles was out of gas completely, and had to go elsewhere. He paid 75 to fill the truck up at 2.799 and told me to go to the local store (big mistake), and fill up the van. They only had 93 octane and it was 3.690. Took me 59.16 to fill a Honda van up. I knew better than to let them get low, but just slipped up. Stupid should hurt, and it did.

I top off the vehicle. The best place to store gas is in the gas tank. I have a couple metal cans, but don't keep them filled--storing gasoline during our thermonuclear-hot Phoenix summers is a challenge.

The next vehicle--I should live so long and be so rich--will be solar-charged electric. Or woman-charged bike. I've never regarded the dino juice supply as stable or reliable.

I never knew for sure but he gave me good advice that I still follow!

Don’t let the Piss Ants get you down…
I usually fill the truck every two weeks, which is around a half tank (18 gallons) and I filled up per routine on Sunday.

I’ll remind HQ6 to keep her car topped up. JIK.
