Just wondering if anyone switched their cell phones from AT&T to Sprint?

If so satisfied?

Pros/Cons

We have three cell phones on AT&T currently, cost seems high. $240 mo

I'm doing three phones on ATT for $175/mo. Your bill sounds high...
But I'd switch to a lower plan easy, if I could find one. I've looked, and unless it was prepaid, couldn't find one significantly lower.
If I'm wrong, someone please correct me. Cell phone cost is ridiculous.

Sprint has much worse coverage and data speed overall. I had a Sprint-based phone for awhile. Not at all happy.

I've had Sprint since 2011.....I'm south of Portland Oregon and I've never had a problem...not once, and I travel the whole metro area.

My bill is $85 a month, unlimited. I had AT&T back in 2009 and 2010...too expensive and unreliable.

I switched from ATT to sprint, stayed with sprint for two whole months due to the 4GB limit on data, went to t-mobile, they paid my early cancellation fees I now have two brand new phones and pay the same rate for unlimited data

I used to have at&t, now my bill for phone, computer and tv are less than what that one at&t bill was. My phone bill is $30 a month unlimited local and long distance.

I have hughesnet for my computer service. A couple of years ago I bought their phone hook up. I am very pleased with it except when a storm rolls through I loose my computer and phone service when we have heavy rain.

Thanks everyone! I noticed ATT blocks the radio tuner built into the cell phone, Sprint allows access.

You also can't do anything that's real-time interactive. And you had better not go over your alloted usage quota OR ELSE.

I think both AT&T and Verizon block the tuner. I think I've heard that you may be able to get it turned on but I don't know what steps you have to take to do so. I don't think I would want mine turned on since it would be another thing to drain my cell battery.

A good friend of mine has Sprint. And even though there is a cell tower practically in her backyard, she has to sometimes go outside to make or receive a call!

Around these parts, Sprint is very spotty. Verizon seems to have the largest coverage area but goes down much more frequently than AT&T. Before you switch, do a little research and find out which one is the best for your area and exactly what your priorities are. If it's cost, then most likely Sprint will be for you. If it's coverage, most likely Verizon. But if it's your only form of communication, you really don't want it going down and you might want to stick with AT&T. JMHO...YMMV

We've been AT&T since 2005 and will not switch. We have 3 phones and our bill is about $190. That includes unlimited talk, message, and 10g data per month. Luckily, my company pays a portion since I use my phone for work. When I have called to check if there are any other packages that would lower my monthly cost she says we are grandfathered in and it would be a lot more expensive now.

I've never had an issue with them as far as dropped calls or no service. They have always been helpful and friendly when I call. No changes here

DH and I have recently switched to Cellular One, including our home phone. I think its going to be about $110.00 a month. I'll save at least $60 a month on the AT&T home phone, which will just about pay for my cell phone. I like having a land line, but I need to save money. Cellular One just put up a 4G tower about a mile from my house. So it should work fine for us, hopefully anyway.

I have AT&T through work, and my wife and kids Sprint. Sprint is terrible- slow data speeds, bad coverage, but "unlimited" data, assuming you can use it.

Someone, I think at a Sprint store, told me one time that part of Sprint's data speed issues were due to Sprint selling their data network to some of the cheapo alternative phone companies - such as the Crickets, etc. Whether that is true or not I don't know.

Sprint remains the only phone company, other than Vonage, to have a representative say "F*ck you" to me, when I've called about a customer service or billing issue. In Sprint's case, I spoke with a manager who said that to me, when I objected to the fact that they had added a charge to my phone bill for nearly $10/month for a service that allowed us to select "wallpaper" for our telephone (it was some years ago, and my wife's plan.) They said that because it was an outside party/company, the issue was with the other company, not Sprint -- all Sprint does is 'collect the money.'

(As an aside, a Vonage rep said FU to me when I called complaining about the fact it had taken them a couple of months to port our number, and we hadn't had any updates as to when it would actually be finished. We don't use Vonage any more.)

In neither case was I being verbally abusive. It would sure be nice if those separate phone calls were the ones recorded for "training purposes"!!!

Best wishes, but, in my opinion, I wouldn't switch to Sprint unless you wanted "unlimited data" but crappy service.

Had Sprint till the Iphones came out however many years ago that has been. Sprint totally sucks. You can stand next to a tower and not have a signal. Never again will I use Sprint.

I wold give up my cell phone if I had to switch to Sprint.

I was an Old School Nextel user, and when Sprint bought Nextel, it ALL went down the porcelain drain. Their customer service sucked so bad, it was easier to just pick up a brick and beat yourself with it, because after all was said and done, that's pretty much what the outcome would have been.

And from what i've heard from friends, it hasn't gotten much better.

I'm with T-Mobile now, and it's got issues, but at least i've had good customer service every time i've had to call.

AT&T is too expensive and coverage is not that good.
Currently Verizon has a better deal on the 10GB plan.
