Any way to de-stain light colored flip-flops?

Shoes, that is, kind of a matte rubber-like surface. Got a pair of white ones that aren't anymore.

Oh I thought this was going to be how to get the mantan off John Kerry.

For some reason I was thinking "mandrill" when I read that.

Wal mart sells their own brand of cleaner over by the 409 sprays etc. It is called "All purpose cleaner". It is mostly bleach, but I have used it on my white tenny runners and man is it good! At 97Cents a bottle, I keep a bottle of it in the kitchen, laundry room and each bathroom. I bet it would work! Good Luck!

Magic Eraser.. if that doesn't work then try OxyClean, and if that doesn't work then try bleach.

Bleach *can* yellow, so use it as a last resort - very weak strength, then set them in the sun to let the sun finish bleaching them.

Thanks all... have a Magic Eraser in the cupboard, so that gets first try. (Interesting about the 'salt and sun' - yknow... it's amazing how things bleach out - people, wood, etc. - at the beach.)

And they are the most comfortable shoes in the world, can't find any more just like 'em, so will attempt to clean. Also have them in black. :D So those are OK.

My daughter's friend washes hers in the dishwasher - because they 'float' in the washer. Haven't tried it, but have a pair with red mud on them sitting on top of my dryer waiting to be dealt with (by my daughter, the owner).

I put them in the washing machine with a load of towels.

Mr Clean erasers work too

Why is it that the cheapest shoes are the ones you never want to get rid of?
