DISASTER ANOTHER VOICE OF WARNING - STOCK UP!!

OK, I'm not LDS (Mormon), but I do follow a lot of their ideas and guidance for stocking up and have utilized Bishops Warehouses. For the last several weeks I've been getting Email from the "Another Voice of Warning" advocating followers to double check their stocks and be sure that all their preps are stocked up and ready. They've upped their readiness level. Take it FWIW!

Wow. I'm buying more powdered potatoes and can beans. Got lots of stuff, but little money so can't get a lot of stuff. I have a friend who is OCD he says he has no room in his cupboards. Small house, but very clean. He has a big wooden Coffin in his front room. I told him he can put can food in there. I said he can put can goods under his bed. He has a big kitchen table against the wall he can put boxes of food under it. He believes starvation is coming, but he doesn't want "the clutter"!

I went to the AVOW website, I'd never heard of it. Looks like they have some info for download, and a forum that is private and monitored, but it costs $$ to join. That's too bad, I'd love to read what they're saying.

If there is anything they sent you via email that you would be willing to to copy and paste, it would be interesting to read. But, for OPSEC maybe it wouldn't be a good idea.

Well, he knows that if/when he gets hungry, he’ll just go on over to Mary’s house for food.

Folks, the time for warming others is over.

Theyre old enough to ‘read the signs’ out there. So if they do nothing to help themselves, then your going to have a Huge problem on your hands when the SHTF

And when their families are starving, they’ll tell them about what You have in your pantry. V

Clutter....Starvation

Hmmmm

Hard choice.
yeah what an idiot.
at least he has his coffin ready
ha ha that's funny!! He collects Egyptian stuff. It's an Egyptian wood coffin. He uses it as a coffee table. It's empty he could fit a lot of food in it.

oh luckily he has no family at all and no children,. He may have a couple friends I'm not sure.
Well, he thinks I have a little bit. He has no idea how much I have. Also he has no car, can't walk far cuz sick and no one to drive him. He doesn't know my address. He's in the village ten miles away from me. He has never been to my house. Also, he is extremely picky with food. He also has stomach problems and goes days without eating.

I went to my local bishops store house just yesterday. They were dang near out of anything, and what they did have was scarce. The lady who rang me up told me they were promised a truck delivery next week.
I got a pic of the selection, they black lined everything that was out of stock.

People need to be paying attention but alas that is not the case in the majority of households. Been adding steadily for the last few months in particular. Writing is up for everyone to see but few are paying attention. One saving grace for me is 90% of my family (who don't want to bother with prepping) live 12 hours away.

In all of our fretting and prepping, let us remember to pause...

And give thanks for what we have.

For what we know..

For his love.

That is good advice and needs to be practiced daily. The only difference between me and anyone else is the grace of God that has been warning me for 30 years now to be ready because it’s at the doorstep. Any of us could of been given the mindset of the masses with no perception of the danger they are in.

I have an old friend age 70 in buffalo who is a staunch Christian Scientist. She says God will provide. She prays over everything. She never checks her blood pressure and must have had a mini stroke cuz she said her left arm and leg is weak and she can't shovel. She prays over illness and won't take a drug. I guess she will starve.

Farmers Warn of Dire Turkey Shortage: One Operating at Only 7% Capacity Ahead of Thanksgiving

By Michael Austin October 15, 2021 at 4:31pm

If you’re excited to tear into some turkey with loved ones this Thanksgiving, it might be time to brace yourself for disappointment.

America’s go-to turkey company, Butterball, is concerned that there may be a shortage this year, WBBM-TV reported.

The problem isn’t Biden’s supply chain issues, according to one turkey farmer in Illinois.

Kyle Zimmerman, co-owner of Harrison’s Poultry Farms, told WBBM that while “national supply chain issues have increased many costs,” various small farms have managed to help fill the gap.

The potential turkey shortage is actually thanks to another Democrat-caused problem: America’s labor shortage.

Robert Kauffman, owner of Ho-Ka Turkey Farms, said “the problem isn’t the turkeys. It’s having people to dress them — take the feathers off and get them ready to cook.”

“I’ve been real worried about getting temporary help for the dressing season,” he said.

“I can dress with a skeleton crew, but I don’t like to. And I won’t get the numbers I need. If I have a nice full dressing line, we can do maybe 2,500 birds a day — the pace I like to have.”

In past years, Kauffman’s farm has brought in around 100 temporary workers to help dress the turkeys. So far this year, he’s hired a mere seven. That’s 7 percent capacity, for those keeping track at home.

All because Democrats fail to understand basic human nature.

If you give someone unemployment benefits, you are incentivizing that person to stay unemployed.

At least Republicans understand what the problem is. A Bureau of Labor Statistics report from August showed that the 10 states with the lowest unemployment numbers were all Republican-run.

Make no mistake — the labor shortage is undeniably a Democratic problem.
Sure, turkeys will probably make their way into stores for Thanksgiving.
Related:

But when they do, remember that the forces of supply and demand apply to holiday staples the same as any other product.

Fewer birds on store shelves will result in higher prices as Americans scramble to buy them.

Labor shortages don’t just impact employers — they impact the entire economy and virtually every consumer.

Looks about the same as the website. They still have beans, oatmeal, rice, mashed potatoes, wheat, flour, pasta, sugar and milk.
I keep preaching meal stretchers. These are meal stretchers.

OCD people get on my last nerve. My young teen niece ruined my kitchen cabinet because she had to push it back three times every time she opened it. Sprung the hinges. I was mad and she knew it. No one else in the family ever made her feel responsible about her actions because oh my, she has OCD. She never pushed back the cabinet door again when over. She opened and closed it like normal.

Don’t let the Piss Ants get you down…
All good observations and several great recommendations. IF someone is participating in our “society” at even a minimal level, they’d realize that things are not good nor remotely “normal”.

Yet, there will still be those (in the millions) who will scream and moan, “how did this happen” and “what will I do” and the “the government will come and save us”.

Those same people and the government that they love will observe that there are many who “have” and in their infinite wisdom will declare that we all must “be in this together” and demand that those who have “share” what they have for “the common good”.

We’ll be cast as hoarders and painted as evil and the root of all the troubles. Because of “we” (they) hadn’t bought all that stuff they have, there would be plenty on the shelves of the stores.

Mark my words on this…

At my local Wal Mart this i noticed they had just received a large shipment of butterball and Jenny O turkeys. If you want one better get it now.

On the order form first put out this year they were $11.50 per can. Generally they don't change the prices during the year (I don't think they did this year, either, but I could be wrong).

Think OPSEC !!

Pass it forward...
On an OPSEC note, the online LDS canned foods ship in boxes labeled with the contents and shipper indicated in large letters--this was the case with all my orders from them, the most recent being about one year ago. It might be wise not to leave them sitting on your porch for hours, visible to passers by.

Yep, mine did, too, as always. I was going to email their customer service asking them to turn the box inside out or perhaps find another box, but the order went through so fast.....and I didn't want to cause them any difficulty (I was just thankful they were still shipping!). Fortunately, someone was home to meet the FedEx truck....but I admit I didn't really want the FedEx folks to know, either.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints plans to deliver a semi-truck full of food to the ACCESS food bank warehouse on Wednesday.

MEDFORD, Ore. — Jackson County's regional food bank says that it will receive a healthy helping of food donations this week from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints this week, as it continues to see high demand for food assistance spurred by the COVID-19 pandemic and wildfire disasters.

“We are so grateful to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for providing the ACCESS Food Bank with a significant donation that will help feed thousands of food-insecure individuals and families locally," said Marcee Champion, Food Programs Director at ACCESS.
ACCESS2.png

The LDS Church plans to deliver a semi-truck full of food to the ACCESS food bank warehouse later this week.

“We appreciate the work ACCESS does in providing food to 18 emergency pantries throughout Jackson County,” said John Clason, the LDS Medford Stake President. “To help support their effort, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is pleased to donate a full semi-truck of food from our Humanitarian Surplus that will arrive Wednesday, July 28th.”

Clason says a mission of the LDS Church is to help those in need and knows this food donation will help fulfill that mission.
ACCESS feeds one in five Jackson County residents annually, and the organization says that the impact of COVID and the wildfires have increased the threat of food insecurity throughout the local community.

Well

Well good, then he wont have any trouble getting used to it.
yeah ha ha.
Had a friend that always bought ammo in wooden crates. When he got divorced, had no furniture. He stacked it up, put cushions on some to use as a couch. Another stack for a coffee table. Other stacks for end tables, chairs, stools, TV stand, etc, etc.

He was ready for " bad guys ". He did not plan on needing a coffin. LOL
that is such a Kool idea!!
@Mary Contrary , what pepper are you wanting, ground or whole peppercorns? I’d bet you can find either really cheap at dollar tree
Just ground. I will look at the store today.

I was in Walmart earlier and the employees filling pick up orders all seem to be on the same aisle. One said pasta and chili? The others said yes! Everyone wants pasta and chili. On young female worker said I wonder why? I remembered how good it was so I bought a few more cans of chili.
