A Milwaukee man who fled the scene of an accident ended up freezing to death after hiding nearby in an attempt to avoid arrest.
Mark Henderson caused a four car crash on December 30 after blowing through a red light at 99th and Good Hope around 2pm, according to ABC affiliate WISN 12.
Authorities said that after causing the accident, he fled the scene and took cover near a house, lying between the property's shed and wooden fence.
He was found dead the next day by the homeowner and was later identified by his girlfriend, the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's office stated in a report.
According to meteorological website accuweather.com, sub-zero degree temperatures were recorded on the night of the incident.
Henderson, 34, was on parole after pleading guilty to a fatal hit-and-run incident nearly a decade earlier.
