There is no print story yet.

Varney & co. is talking about this and the "panic" setting in with people. The fact that this fear could close things down - one store already is due to the nurse visiting it.

This school has a PARENT that visited with the nurse and the child was kept at home by the parent, but the school decided to close down anyway.

Thank you, I think. I thought at first it meant a school nurse. I guess this nurse was really busy on her trip...Kind of reminds me of typhoid Mary....

Bear this in mind: The school nurse these days is the ONLY PERSON WHO CAN GIVE MEDS TO KIDS. Even their own meds have to be held in the nurse's office and dispensed by her.

THis is very, very bad...

Akron Schools close Resnik Elementary as Ebola precaution

AKRON -- Akron Public Schools have closed Resnik Elementary after school officials discovered one of the parents at the school was in contact with the second Dallas nurse with Ebola, who traveled to Cleveland before she was officially diagnosed.

The Summit County Health Department contacted the district Thursday morning that the parent was in contact with Amber Vinson, 29, the nurse who cared for Tom Duncan, the first Ebola patient in the U.S.

Vinson had traveled from Oct. 10 to 13 from Dallas to Cleveland on a trip to visit her family.

The school will be closed Friday and through the weekend as officials disinfect the building.

The school district posted an alert on its Facebook page:

As an extreme, precautionary measure, Akron Public Schools will dismiss Resnik CLC students at 11:45 a.m. today. The Summit County Health Department notified the district this morning that a parent at the school was in contact with Ebola patient Amber Vinson during her visit to the area.

The parent and her child (a student at Resnik), will be quarantined as a precaution for 21 days. The child did NOT have contact with Ms. Vinson but has been quarantined as a precaution. The school will undergo a thorough cleaning and reopen on Monday, October 20.

Earlier this morning, the Summit County Health Department said in a news conference that the Vinson had limited contact with the others.

Officials revealed that Vinson had contact with five people in Summit County and two in Cuyahoga County -- all of whom have been put under voluntary quarantine.
