ps. Would like the option of a/c or betteries. Also a set of calibration weights.

I hope tech has improved to the point where it is pocket size with a paper print out but I doubt it. Seems a UBS connectior might work with some software though.?

Keep at it. :)

I agree. The OP is bizarre and unreadable.

Now, if you're talking about a SCALE (which is actually never mentioned in the OP), you can only get them in ounces/grams. I doubt that most people here have any experience with jeweler scales, and even those are probably in grams. And Karat is not a weight per se. It's a measure of purity of the gold. I have no idea what it even means for gemstones.

Perhaps your best bet would be to speak to a few jewelers. But I doubt you'd get such a scale for $50....

Let's see,

- Solvent abuse.

- Water boarding.

- Green latex Girl Scout uniforms.

- Making whistles out of rare smoked cheese.

- Toe, elbow and mole fetishism.

- Taiwan Baskets

Yep, that should cover it! . . . :xpmp:

Sorry for the odd post! I took a new sleeping pill the Doc said was better than sliced bread and I don't even remember posting the OP.

But I do need a scale and I should have said carats as in diamond weight. Should I repost the post in an english format? Even I could not make out what I had typed.

I want a pocket size scale I can use for gems, PMs and powder for reloading.

Anyone that wants the same Ambien I took for sleep can come dig through my trash for it. I won't comment much about the dreams I had other than to say they were Bizzare! The Doc freaked out when I told him I took diphenhydramine for sleep. He told me to stop right now and gave me some samples and phoned in a script. Seems the Benadryl antihistamine taken every night for sleep causes heart damage in the form of a A/V block problem or somesuch.

Any store that sells reloading supplies should have them. They measure in grams and grains. They are delicate things that can't weigh more than a few ounces. Check out the cheaper sporting goods stores in your area. I think they go for about $30.

There are million out there in the cheap range. Mine was maybe $15 IIRC. I use a 1 gram gold bar to calibrate mine and it's never been off. Used it quite a bit. I like mine because it also has a grain weight so I can check my powder loads.

RC...Ambien by chance?

I don't take the stuff but from experience with someone who does-if you have an SO, they need to keep an eye on you. You WILL be doing stuff you don't remember from PWI to possibly driving and killing someone, eating, sex, sticking scizzors up your nose to trim the non-existent long hairs...the trip for an outsider is bizarre. You may need to be restrained to keep you from hurting yourself which might include simply 'going to sleep and dropping like a rock' in mid-unconcious walk toclimbing up on some piece of furniture to try to grab the ghjost or spider or whatever your mind thinks it is seeing.

Seriously, whatyever you are on might have you doing some funky and potentially dangerous stuff.

We knew it was out of character. Gotta take your entertainment where you can find it.

Yes, Ambien.
I ask the doc if the stories I have heard are true of folks eating or driving or other stupid things while on the drug. He said yes but they are very very rare but if I take it 2 minutes before getting in bed then side effects are almost non existant.

How wrong he was. It is the devils candy.

I'd get another doc as yours either does not know or is full of-shit.

Ambien is a hypnotic drug and has been used for rapes and such and the evidence on video the 'rapee' looks, talks and acts pretty normal, they may seem a little stoned but they are 'lovin' it' while getting raped and performing as if they are willing tho it was someone they did not know, had never met and, once awake, had no memory of the act.

It is also known well enough that it is used as a defense in cases where someone is on it and kills someone and often succeeds.

I did a quick Google on 'Ambien' 'murder' and got this: About 373,000 results (0.20 seconds) add the word 'Defense' and it comes up with: About 157,000 results (0.30 seconds). Change 'Murder' and 'Defense' to 'Rape' and get: About 471,000 results (0.29 seconds) .

It's not a secret or new.

How can they let a drug like this slide but foam at the mouth about keeping MJ illegal.

As a responsible person and gun owner I will not ever take that nasty stuff again. There was a lady arrested here in town for going to 7-11 topless at 3am. Turns out she was taking ambien. Case dismissd.

I now know the docs definition of RARE is not the same as mine.

Because the illegal drug trade is all upside to TPTB.

- The money funds "black" government ops

- The convictions keep judges, lawyers and cops employed

- It facilitates the theft of vast amounts of money and property from law abiding citizens, which is used to directly fund various governments.

- It provides an excuse to shoot dogs and break down doors in the middle of the night

There are other reasons, but these are the main ones.

Dennis, a carat (or karat) is also a unit of weight. It is 200mg, and is used to measure gemstone weight. The carat for purity is simply 24 X the ratio of the pure metal mass to the total mass.

Dennis missed the elephant in the living room - MONEY LAUNDERING. That's what keeps the banksters in business these days.

Glad to hear you trashed the Ambien...

Here is Helen when we need her?

The harbor freight scales will be fine for most of the work you will be doing which is verification.

See my post from a long time ago on measures.

A standard ounce is called arvidopolous[sp?]= 28.x grams.
A Troy ounce is 31.1 grams.
A pennyweight is 1/20th of a troy ounce.
A troy pounds is TWELVE troy ounces which is less than a standard pound. ~14-15 ounces.

Confused yet, good you're almost there. :)

Hornady sells a very nice small scale that reads in a variety of measures, comes in a nice case that can be dropped in a coat pocket, and if I recall I paid $25 for it.

Do not use an uncertified scale to sell anything.

If you do, you are subject to a no-knock raid, your wife being tortured and your dog being shot.

Okay, the actual term is "Avoirdupois", which is a variation of the words. Literal translation appears to be "goods of weight". Although I believe my original translation to be more accurate.

"Avoir" is the infinitive of the verb "to have". "Du" is a contraction of "de le" which is "of the" and "poids" is "weight".
