He got diagnosed in January and is home recovering from surgery. In four weeks he is facing chemo. I am shocked as he is at least five years younger than me. I dont know what stage. I will admit he used to be a heavy smoker.

I had called him on christmas eve and had a good conversation before any of this happened.

Prayers... we just heard about another friend in our hometown with pancreatic cancer. That makes SEVEN men (all men, which seems interesting) in our very small circle in that town with the same cancer. Sadly, none of them survived more than a few months.

Were they related in any way... either by genetics, or worked at the same plant/factory, farmers, etc? Just asking as there have been clusters of men ending up with pancreatic cancer here in Iowa... most of them are farmers.

Several were farmers... several not. But at least the first 5 were all raised in the township. That was worrisome. But the only "industry" in the area since its settling in the early 1800s was timber and a couple small furniture factories.

And the area farms were all tiny, by modern standards, until about 15 years ago... very little chemical use.

I was diagnosed with PC 32 months ago, started with stage 3 then progressed to stage 4. Had Whipple surgery, radiation and chemo. Somewhere around 20+ different procedures and surgeries.
Only by the blood of Jesus am I still here. Lots of prayers, love, and faith is what has made me able to remain. Obviously He still has purpose for me here.

Never give up hope. Do the best you can do on a daily basis, and make the most out of each second that you have.

My father-in-law was just diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last week. I don’t know what stage he’s in. But he had spent time in the hospital a couple of weeks ago because he was in so much pain that they would not let him eat until the pain subsided. He could not even sleep without morphine in the hospital. He’s home now but still weak.

My best friend's husband died from pancan. He lived about 5 months after diagnosis. He did one round of chemo, then opted for natural treatment. It was already at stage 4 when found.

It's a very slow growing cancer, and is usually late stage when discovered.

Prayers for all suffering with this horrible disease.

Our dear friend Tim a recently retired wild land fire was diagnosed two weeks ago with the stage four pancreatic cancer. 65 years old. Please pray for he and his beloved wife and sons as well as all those in this thread of posts. May the Lord heals those afflicted and give comfort and mercy to them. Amen
