Nine inmates have escaped Pennsylvania’s Abraxas Academy, a juvenile detention facility, authorities said Sunday night.
The inmates are male and wearing white and gray shirts and shorts, according to the Robeson Township Police Department in Berks County.

The escape happened following a riot at the academy, according to another local police agency in Berks County. State and local law enforcement regained control of the detention center, authorities said, but some of the offenders escaped.
Police have advised those in the vicinity of I-176 and Route 10 to be vigilant.

Berks County borders Chester County, the location where authorities searched for and captured escaped inmate Danelo Cavalcante after a 14-day manhunt.

Actually, Berks County would be a fitting place for this to be true, you know, plenty of horse and buggy traffic down that way. You might like it there, Dobbin, but be careful. They might put you to work. It is a beautiful county with green rolling hills and farms.

However, they have about 70,000 latinos in the one city in that county, Reading, PA (pronounced “redding”). Reading was a bad place long before the illegal immigrants arrived. My guess is these “youts” will be from the Philly area, not far to the East. Philly likes to export Tasty Cakes and riotous youths.

As far as the OP, the "Children's Home" in our previous home town, (since renamed the "Global Village"something) had kids there for every imaginable reason. Everything from abuse (waiting for a foster home to open up) to arson, assault and battery, attempted murder, rape...

The staff was NOT allowed to know why each kid was there! Which resulted in a girl who had been setting fires and kill8ng pets taking part in the "animal therapy" program... where she promptly strangled two rabbits! Hubby caught a kid with his pants down... literally!...trying to have sex with a horse. Yep... he was there because of "inappropriate behavior" with the family pets!

And for a short time, they tried integrating kids from there (they were their own school district, but not enough numbers for sports teams) into the local school teams. We put a stop to that when the girls pn the Cross Country team complained a boy was openly leering at them, and always made a point of running behind them. He turned out to be in for rape!!

Who in their right mind let's an accused rapist in an activity where both girls and boys run five miles or more *out of view of any adults*??

I'm sure they are all honor students and aspiring doctors and lawyers in that group. I'm glad they locked them back up. I was watching a news interview with a public information officer from that Sheriff Department and he made the statement that they were very careful in apprehending them as he was sure that they were not beyond killing a cop in the process.
