Folks... for those pinching pennies, one good way to do it is to sign up on various sites and let them send you their "deals". Sure, there's a lot of temptation to resist, and you do have to be able to discern a genuine GOOD deal from something they're just trying to get you to buy!

These are craft books in various disciplines- everything from quilting to crochet to paper crafts, all for $1 each. You have to download them and print them yourself, but if you buy printer ink refills from Amazon and paper on sale (like I do), it's a really reasonable way to get some excellent craft patterns.

Wool knits- mostly jersey, but there's a couple of fine ribknits in there- for $8.99 a yard. They make fantastic underlayers for the really cold days, and you aren't going to beat that price anywhere!
These deals generally go fast, which is one reason I suggest signing up so you get notice of them as soon as they put them out.
