I felt the need to bump this thread today.


Reading the threads on Main today (some of which I posted, and the day is still young), all I could think of was Chuck Heston's scene in Planet of the Apes:

I gotta tell ya folks, I'm freaking out at this point. There's so much insane crap going on ALL AT ONCE that it's impossible to take in and stay calm and rational.

I wonder how much of this is intentional?

In Neuro-Lingustic Programming (NLP), there is a “confusion techique”, related to hypnosis: The Hypnotic Art of Confusion

This link may not be the best reference, but it is a commonly employed technique. Essentially, by confusing the dickens out of someone, there is a tendency to bypass the normal filtering, and “speak to the subconscious”.

Commercials do it a lot, with mind-numbing scene after scene (the confusion part), with last scene selling something: “Drink Pepsi!”

I am too dim-witted to do it myself, but I can often see when it is being done. Used to have an IT contractor that used to use a lot of manipulative NLP tactics like that: after learning a bit about NLP, it really pissed me off when he pulled it on me.

I feel like we’re just getting going boss. We still have internet outages, martial law, sporadic electric outages, weeks more of “protests”, war on numerous fronts, stock market to cash and the dreaded second round of wuflu......

I tell my group that I see us at a 3-4 on a scale of ten.

Once again, wish I was younger......

And while I’m thinking on it, thanks for this site and these people......

Look at it this way - the closer we get to November the more insane things will get.
Why? Because the Dems have no platform other than Orange Man Bad. Since of none of their attempts to remove him have worked to date... they're left with no other option except burn it all down... and blame Trump.

Yes they really think Americans are that stupid.

Something to remember, the media has a side. They have 3 desires
1. support their peeps no matter what they peeps do,
2. inflate the radicals to make some ‘whitey’ to fly off and injure or preferably (to them) to kill some ‘sainted peaceful protestor’ to attempt to recapture the high ground in their propaganda campaign.
3. Make middle America feel alone and isolated so we give in because the media is telling us its inevitable.

and 1b get rid of Trump.

I hate them so much, I refuse to wallow in their lies or allow their babbling crap to affect my attitude one little bit.
