At walmart yesterday in north central Louisiana I went up and down most isles. I spotted clothes pins 50/$1 and next to them were 100/$1.98, they were reduced fro 3.28 and were on clearance. I got the 100 package. We use clothes pins to close opened bags. I guess if they are closing them out that in the future they won't have any or the price will be much higher. I usually get them at DT 50/$1, but they are 1.25 now and I rarely go to DT anymore.

Hit Walgreens today - NO left over Valentine candy, and the whole seasonal aisle was empty. Lots of large empty spaces in the candy and last minute items at the checkout, supplements were so-so.

Safeway was stocked OK. Soups were spotty, no whack-and-bake biscuits or rolls, no ramen (hasn't been for months). Otherwise OK. And of course, prices are up.

Canned Tiny Shrimp, of all things, is poofed.

One of my daughters makes a dip using these. Special occasion food. Recipe handed down by her husband's grandmother.

Not a big ticket hot item, but none to be found in NCKs. Saw an Amazonian trying to pop buyers for $28? for a 4 pack. Not that desperate yet.IMG_20220216_194653.jpg

We made a Sam's Club and Kroger run last evening. Everything on the list was available except the previously mentioned tiny shrimp.

TP was plentiful in three brands and no limit was in effect that we saw.

We go to Sam's in the hour before they close for the night because we found that they take a bunch of the rotisserie chickens that sat too long throughout the day as well as the fresh ones unsold when they're ready to shut down for the night and either cut them up and build trays of cut up whole chickens. They place them in the refrigerator case at a big discount. 4 breast pack for $3.48. 8 piece chicken same price. They'll also make up take and bake dishes using the deboned rotisserie chicken. Chicken enchiladas, pot pies, shredded BBQ chicken, and chicken salad.

Interestingly, those things in the refrigerator case can be purchased using EBT card funds, while a hot chicken cannot be.

My husband went to Dollar Tree & Big Lots on the *13th* to grab a bit of Valentine candy for the grands; there was not *one* piece in either store! Usually there is plenty on clearance the day after.

Shopping was a little more interesting today.

The power went off while I was in Home Depot. After a few seconds the generator kicked on and there weren't any problems.

At Smith's the power was back on, but they could only accept cash. Every employee who wasn't cashiering was returning carts full of food to the shelves. The ramen shelves were the fullest I'd seen in months, about 75% stocked today. Next to nothing for saltine crackers. Pasta is still very thin and kinda expensive. Someone scooped up the 25 lb bags of store-brand flour. Meat is skyrocketing! Hamburger in the markdown bin was $5.99 a pound! Media crema, which I have been watching for the past year, hoping for it to go on sale, went up 40 cents per can, from $1.89 to $2.29. That was sad. I guess it's all going to be getting sadder.

I heard that table dancers were only accepting Fives getting tucked in their g-string.
[/QUOTE] speaking of dancers. When I was 35 I danced in Canada for a year. Had to have an agent. Made damn good money. Did 5 shows a day from noon to midnight. A lot of French Canadian girls too. What I noticed was that they hated Canadians and they hated Americans even more. They were very rude! I tried talking to them in the bathroom, but they totally ignored me. They were all skinny and had NO boobs yet when they table danced they made a killing and made most of the money! I didn't like them cuz they were so rude to everyone. After a year I got very sick from insecticide poisoning and had to quit. I was sick for a while year. My agent was SO pissed!! I still have my contract after all these years. I stuck it in a map book.

The carnivore diet! Too expensive! I've ordered Taste of the Wild for her to try.
Definitely gradually switch foods. Cold turkey switches from mid grade to high grade foods will GUARANTEE diarrhea. Blow out style diarrhea.

We usually recommend a 7-10 day switchover. You can even give doggie probiotics to reduce any tummy upset

For the last little while I was buying Scott 1000 Toilet Paper, 20 Regular Rolls for $14.00, I noticed last week they had gone up to almost $15. Now on walmart.com they are $36.85. This sounds more like another source than walmart. Guess walmart itself must be out right now.

I don't need any, thank God.

I got to the grocery store about 9 am this morning, a regional chain with stores in suburban Memphis.

I scored four really nice looking packages of ground chuck, one 85%/15% and the rest 80%/20% for $1.99 a pound! They needed to be sold by today, and I was glad to help...

Me and the Mrs. will be having chopped steak with fried onions and bell peppers for supper tonight, along with my homemade beef cabbage soup and a salad. (I am on a keto diet).

hmmm we use Scott 1000 and buy the 20 roll, seems that’s the last to go when there was a run on toilet paper lol very few people like it. Just looked and my Walmart is out of it all too and the prices shown are insane! Glad I don’t need any right now

When I was at Dollar General yesterday, I noticed all across the back of the store was paper products. Paper towels, plates, napkins, toilet paper etc. This is where they usually have plastic totes, boxes and bins. Not sure what they used to have in the rest of that area but it is now paper products. I've been watching for sweater boxes for over a year and have yet to see one.

This reminds me to check on the boutique butters. Kerrygold and a local dairy farm are probably pushing $10/lb.
The other day at walmart Kerrygold butter was 3.43 for half pound. I love this butter, but have also been using regular butter some too.

Kids were making a Costco run today. NO chicken breasts. I had asked them to buy a few packs for when I'm there because they usually like the thighs and I'm not a big fan. Chicken is probably my number one meat in my diet. They're going to check the commissary when they get back home.

I have friends, who when they were newly married and very poor (new military), used plastic forks and when the outside prong broke off they'd trade because one of them was lefthanded and the other right. Never figured out if that was true or just a fun story!
