A survey conducted by risk management and advisory company Willis Towers Watson has found that more than half of U.S. companies expect to impose COVID vaccine mandates on their employees by the end of the year.

The survey of 1000 companies, employing close to 10 million people, found that 52 percent of employers are planning some form of vaccine mandate for workers.

The figure would be a massive increase on the 21 percent of employers who currently have mandates in place.

The survey also found that almost one-third of employers say they are planning to make full vaccination a requirement to enter the workplace building.

A further 21 percent said could make vaccination a requirement for any new hires, the literal enacting of a ‘no jab, no job’ policy.
The survey also noted that 59 percent of employers are already tracking workers’ vaccination status, with a further 19 percent planning to do so by the end of the year.

Of those already tracking vaccination status, 62 percent require workers to submit proof of vaccination.
The survey also found that “Eight in 10 respondents (80%) require employees to wear masks indoors at any location. Another 13% are planning or considering doing so.”


Willis Towers Watson’s population health leader Dr Jeff Levin-Sherz commented that “We expect even more employers to institute vaccine mandates in the wake of FDA approval of the Pfizer vaccine.”
“We have reached a point in the pandemic where employers that have worked hard to make it easy for employees to get vaccinated are also considering approaches to make it more difficult for employees to remain unvaccinated,” Levin-Scherz added.
As we noted last week, a Quinnipiac poll has found that almost half of Americans (48%) believe that Joe Biden’s vaccine mandates “go too far,” and that a slight majority are in opposition to it.

The latest findings, however, highlight that the government doesn’t even need to be involved for vaccine mandates to become the norm.

It remains to be seen whether resistance will form among private sector workers, as it has among first responders and the military.

I have a friend whose son is in Guard, I think, maybe reserves. He doesn't want the shot. They are "letting" him out because he used to protest at an abortion clinic. The waiting now is for honorable or dishonorable discharge. He's supposed to be out by December.

Interesting gamble from the woke folks that seem to run businesses these days. Most any company, if they lost a quarter of their workforce, probably won’t be in business for very long. But that seems to be a feature rather than a bug. This fall and winter will be interesting in so many ways. Me...I’m hoping to hide at home and watch it snow.

Of course businesses are saying jab and mask mandates are in their future. That is what Joe wants them to do, but until law makes it happen after court cases all the way to SCOTUS, saying is easy to do. When the bottom line is challenged and profits fall we will see how many go along with Joe. No one pays any attention to his executive orders on masks and the jab is not going to happen any faster than it can until the data suggests unvaxxed are wrong. How many businesses will say we are doing our part and laugh at the same time?

All who are military and refuse the jab will be. Not sure about NG, but I know AD and Reserves are facing UCMJ (article 92, failure to obey a direct order). Lawmakers are trying to pass a bill to ban dishonorable discharges for them, but that takes time. Right now, I know some have received general other than honorable.

there are several things we can say with a high degree of certainty regarding 110% of this nonsense:
  • going along to get along has FAILED MISERABLY
  • prospects for peaceful coexistence will continue to degrade as we proceed further down the time track
  • unless we stand against this onslaught - in some fashion - it will continue until we are driven into non existence
considering the above it would seem that we're being put in a NO WIN SITUATION. typically that scenario doesn't sit well with the vast majority of people. they're turning up the heat. are we entering Gerald Celente's "when people have nothing left to lose, they lose it" moment?

this will NOT end well.

The corporations are unknowingly creating a wage crisis that is going to be greatly increasing wage inflation.

Many workers have already expressed their willingness to walk. The vaccidented employment pool will be cut by maybe 30-40%. These vaccidented workers can hold the corporations up for outrageous wages because the corporations made the pool too small. On the other hand, small companies will have a hiring bonanza because their pool includes anyone.

Non-vaxxers that are looking at job losses had better start stocking up as fast as they can for as long as they can so that when this pimple starts to get hot they will be ready when it pops. If half the work force here in the US were to walk off the job for refusing the Jab that would grind this whole mess to a screaming halt.

My company is a major healthcare provider. They know and are constantly training employees on things like HIPAA and the extreme importance of PCI (Patient Confidential Information). You can be fired on the spot for violating these regulations.

I don't know how they can mandate a 'vaccine' without violating that themselves. I have no intention of volunteering my status.

At this point they are only strongly encouraging employees to get jabbed.

We'll see.

ARLINGTON, Va., Sept. 01, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The number of U.S. employers requiring workers to get vaccinated is expected to surge over the next several months, according to a new survey by Willis Towers Watson (NASDAQ: WLTW), a leading global advisory, broking and solutions company. The survey also found that more companies will be implementing financial incentives and expanding testing requirements as they update plans to reopen worksites.

The survey, conducted between August 18 and 25, found that by the fourth quarter of 2021, over half (52%) of employers could have one or more vaccine mandate requirements in the workplace. These range from requiring vaccination for employees to access common areas such as cafeterias to requiring vaccination for a subset of employees to requiring vaccination for all employees. This is a dramatic increase from the current 21%. Specifically, nearly a third (29%) of employers are planning or considering making vaccination a requirement to gain access to the workplace, and almost a quarter (21%) are planning or considering vaccination as a condition of employment for all employees.

Additionally, the number of employers that will track whether employees have completed their vaccination is increasing. Nearly six in 10 (59%) currently track their workers’ vaccination status, and another 19% are planning or considering doing so later this year. A majority (62%) of those require proof of vaccination, such as completed Centers for Disease Control and Prevention vaccination cards, while 36% rely on employees to self-report.
“The Delta variant has made employers take new actions to keep their workers — and workplaces — safe and healthy. We expect even more employers to institute vaccine mandates in the wake of FDA approval of the Pfizer vaccine,” said Jeff Levin-Scherz, M.D., population health leader, Willis Towers Watson. “This is not an easy situation for employers to navigate. For instance, new policies such as tracking workers’ vaccinations can improve safety but also bring additional administrative requirements. At the same time, employers will continue efforts to encourage vaccination and communicate regularly with employees.”
Nearly two in 10 organizations (17%) offer financial incentives for getting vaccinated, with another 14% planning or considering doing so. Cash payments from $100 to $199 are the most common financial incentive. Only 2% of employers currently offer a discount to vaccinated employees or impose a premium surcharge on unvaccinated employees. Another 18% are considering one or both approaches. Most employers at this point are not planning or considering either of these financial tactics.

The survey identified the following actions companies are taking or considering as they rethink their reopening plans due to the Delta variant:
  • Mask mandates: Eight in 10 respondents (80%) require employees to wear masks indoors at any location. Another 13% are planning or considering doing so.

  • Tracing: Three in four employers (75%) use workplace exposure tracing to alert employees to a potential exposure. Another 8% are planning or considering doing so.

  • Return to normal: Nearly four in 10 employers (39%) now expect their organizations won’t reach a new normal in terms of returning to the workplace and ending pandemic-related policies and programs until the second quarter of 2022. About a quarter (26%) expect a return to the new normal in the first quarter of next year.
“We have reached a point in the pandemic where employers that have worked hard to make it easy for employees to get vaccinated are also considering approaches to make it more difficult for employees to remain unvaccinated,” said Dr. Levin-Scherz. “The one certainty right now is that employers will continue to adjust their plans through the remainder of 2021. While some employers will institute more frequent testing, workplace restrictions on the unvaccinated, and vaccination mandates, all will have one common goal in mind — to keep their workforce healthy and productive by minimizing the risk of spreading COVID-19 in the workplace.”

About the survey
A total of 961 U.S. employers participated in the Summer 2021 COVID-19 Vaccination and Reopening the Workplace Survey, which was conducted between August 18 and 25, 2021. Respondents employ 9.7 million workers.

Yeah, those numbers seem more than a bit off when you consider that the number of companies with a head count of 100 to say under 500 are going to be more than those with a higher head count. Lying with statistics again perhaps?....

Same here, Frontier Communications has made it known that they're going to bend the knee. They haven't given us a timeline yet beyond "the coming weeks", but they've made their decision clear to us and we're making our own personal decisions now as well.

Just got a email at work saying ENI (oil company) will be mandating company wide and contractors to be fully vaccinated by Dec 1st unless they have a valid medical or religious exemption. Didn’t say about the last two testing.

I am wondering if Dec first or shortly after is when they expect the OSHA mandate.

I wonder this: How much of the oil production is going to be crippled when those of us who will not bend, walk away? I will not bend.
Screw them, I will wash dishes for minimum wage if it comes to that. I can job hop with the rest of them.
