CHAT Musings on Trump, Lee, civil war, and vax

Trump was booed for saying something like, "Take the shot. I did. "

Then he let the subject go.

Trump praised Robert E. Lee and said he would have won the war in Afghanistan.

Lincoln offered Lee command of the northern army. Lee, history says, declined in favor of leading the southern army.

Lee, the self-disciplined, brilliant West Point graduate, effed up seven major battles out of eight, eventually surrendered, and spent the rest of his life trying to heal the divide.

What's up with that? The industrialized north had advanced weaponry and unlimited capital. The agriculture-dependent south was on the defense, with outdated weapons and their families in danger.

Lee kept throwing away his finest on battle after battle without adapting to the advanced firepower and technology of the north.

I was a little kid when I raised my hand in class and asked the teacher if Lincoln and Lee had a deal to save the Union. The teacher said he wondered too.

Trump was blamed for January 6. We're about to have a repeat in DC on September 18. So what does Trump do this time? He says take the shot, I did. And nothing else.

After that - after that - the purported leader of the free world announced his unilateral decision. He used every divisive bit of psyop language to enrage the unvax and to encourage us-them antagonism in the vax.

There's more, he said, this week. Before September 18, there's more coming from him.

Civil war in this country doesn't have a handy meridian line to distinguish us from them this time. There is no safe place to hide the kids. The last announcement is a deliberate provocation, but hey! Right before September 18 we will get even more!

Media says that in spite of crop losses to drought, shortages of hard goods from overseas, and lack of manpower - if you can't find your favorite snack at the store, it's because hoarders got it all.

Trump=unvax=hoarders=enemy. Look for the connections in this week's pre-rally announcement. Trump neutered accusations that he promotes unvax before that becomes part of the September 18 rhetoric.

Don't fall for us-them thinking. It's just psyop to get everyone fighting right here while our country has awfully bad enemies outside.

Civil War is a bad, terminally bad idea. You should really be a rebel and keep that talk off the table.

If TB2K is any indication on how people are being polarized around various 'agendas' and psyop maneuvers (which are working)... We're already fooked and trying to close the barn door after all of the livestock has escaped.

People (even here) have already bitten the poisonous apple. It's just a matter of time now Helen.

Our family has been polarized and divided over this Covid crap. Never saw that coming. The division strategy is working. On the large scale, it will go where it will. The bad outcome is grisly indeed. I don’t see “them” backing down. The group in charge always doubles down on a bad hand. They need to be called.

My family got somewhat rowdy with me, but when the hammer actually fell on me, they haven't breathed a word. I think they love me, but they also know pissing off a bored psychopath is a bad idea.

Didn't watch any nine eleven stuff. What did Trump day to deliberately provoke, and whom?

Past time to get it on though.

For my grandkids the current system needs to be eliminated. Especially the current currency. All socialistic government systems need to go way of the dodo.

The only socialism that I would be in favor of is if our one true king returned.

As it is now our grandkids will not experience true freedom of any kind.

Helen, be careful. They've already proven that they will create something out of nothing. And since their examples so far aren't working, they may take it further this time.

Wow. Never thought of that possibility.
Still, gonna say that I don't see a parallel with Jan. 6th. I think the Patriots he called to DC were betrayed. This country needs an overhaul, like it or not. Nothing gentle or gradual will work. Trump has made it clear he isn't the guy to lead that.

Sorry but your Lee facts are kind of bullshit, just sayin. The US had its ass handed to them on more occasions at the hands of Lee than anyone else in history. It was a war of attrition. He was the better tactician. The north was led by the second string much like our govt today. The south captured tons of so called "advanced " weaponry and imported more of the best rilfes of the time, the Enfield rifled musket. The north had more bodies to throw into the fray, and that is exactly how they won. It wasn't because the US army was superior in any way. Period.
Had he continued to fight the war on the defensive instead of trying go offensive he would've eventually ground down the union army and they would've had their independence and we would be far better off today. But Jeff Davis pushed him to invade which led to his biggest losses.

Everything, including the kitchen sink, is being thrown at the American public in order to make them forget about the stolen 2020 election... and for this fact to fall from the national discussion and even from this place shows that they are winning in this battle.

Our dear helen, you know that I adore your incisive mind and your sharp wit; you're part of a very small group of people whose posts I always read with interest because I know there's independent thought driving their words instead of groupthink or emotional bursts (Your recent experience has gotten you closer to the latter than I've ever seen and it's completely understandable as to why).

Having the presence of mind as a schoolgirl to compare and contrast Lincoln's and Lee's motivations to discern whether or not there's an underlying linkage is a good example, actually. I said that to say this, trusting that you'll take my thoughts as they're intended and not get all huffy; I mostly agree with your summary but feel compelled to comment.

Civil war is a very bad idea indeed and no one in their right mind wants it to happen. Whether or not we want it, it's already happening in its pre-kinetic phase. It's not us who are pushing it; instead we're being inexorably pushed into it by people who either don't understand the consequences or just don't care about them.

CW1 had a certain nobility in it with calls to defend patriotic principles, massed armies, generally-well-defined fronts, coherent command structures and - at the beginning anyway - were almost societal highlights during which ladies in buckboards were escorted by gentlemen to safely observe the battles. We would most likely see something more akin to CW1 if secessionist movements would become successful, I think. But we're not headed in that direction.

CW2 Actual will have nothing to offer but butchery and misery with it happening almost randomly everywhere. Matt Bracken is correct when he says it will be Rwanda X Bosnia to the 10th power. You'll notice his choice of words "will be" vs. "could be". I believe that's correct, sadly.

Also, you're correct in saying that we should be actual rebels and keep any talk of revolution off the table. I agree that this kind of talk should only happen in meatspace without spying devices (cell phones, etc.) being handy. Of course that isn't going to happen in an online forum with a global span but the lesson is no less valid.

Keep the tone dampened down. I don't completely understand the point of why this should be, but let us be the ones who uphold civility until it can no longer be feasible.

I dont think any sane person wants a CW.
(I sure dont)

But understand that the ones pushing for a CW are insane.

And with airplanes to wisk them away to 'whereever,' no consequences to them. (or so they think)

If it were possible for the 'good' guys to take over the media and force them to tell the truth, we might could stop it all from happening.

Because its lies that are feeding peoples anger and the media is the gasoline.

THEY keep pushing for us to start a civil war so that we want start the revolution. All the distractions are to keep us at each others throats instead of taking THEM down. Quit throwing bricks through your neighbors windows and take them to your government employee. Elected down to the last dog catcher. The choice is our side or buried by the highway. As for Trump I will never follow or forgive him until he stands up and says supporting the jab was wrong.

.............so the founders told us what must be done to keep the republic, are we to ignore it? Now you know why they are demonized.

No one sane wants a CW, I sure don't, but sadly they have been bringing in their troops now since 08 to kill everyone of us including our babies and pets.

The plandemic is the final well planned kill cho t, their shock troops are here to mop up the dead and dying. I must ask, when would be a good time for good men to do the bad things required of them to save the country and their families?

It's like walking innocently down the street and a van pulls up, and someone comes after you. You are about to get kidnapped. You weren't looking for a fight, but you had better all of a sudden fight dirty with every thing you have, because what comes along with that van ride is worse than death.

Peaceful compliance is sometimes a horrible choice.

I wish I were wise enough to give you a good definitive answer but I'm not.

My best guess is that most of us will see it in hindsight instead of being able to predict the moment. Whether or not we survive that interval of time is another good question, so Faroe's thoughts about being ready - regardless of the circumstances - is excellent advice.

I have a different take: Trump was responding to the news, as usual. The statue of Robert E. Lee was being taken down, a bad thing in his opinion, so he offered up an off-the-cuff comment about Lee being able to beat the Afghans. I didn't take that comment seriously.

I always keep in mind that Trump has a businessman's perspective on most events. He gave some off-the-cuff remarks about the jabs, too, when they first came out. He didn't take time to look at the science. He has been focused on the bigger picture: the US economy. Not getting jabs would've meant long-term lock downs. That's all he needed to know.

Do I agree with these comments? Not necessarily, but I'm pointing out that some are reading more into his remarks than he probably meant.

The US has arrived at a tipping point. The CCP through Biden is trying to take down our economy and start a civil war. And against this backdrop, a number of folks are seeing that the election was stolen. Unfortunately, there is no clear Constitutional path through this quagmire, so the cavalry isn't coming to save us.

This is the current map of the 27 governors who are pushing back against the vaccine mandates. Right now, supporting them and getting others on board is among the most positive courses of action, in my opinion.

As for the Sept. 18th rally (said to be a honey pot, a trap), a potentially wide-spread truckers strike this week (maybe), and other potential events, it's a wait-and-see for me. Given all of the disinformation around, I think a wait-and-see attitude is prudent, along with not allowing one's blood pressure to boil over news stories until they are confirmed beyond a reasonable doubt. It costs enemies of the US little to spread FUD, fear uncertainty, and doubt. Solid, actionable intel is like gold right now.

With all due respect for others opinions of President Trump it was over for me 1/6.
Common sense told even me that DC was a powder keg waiting for a spark.
He has left us drowning. On our own which is not necessarily a negative.
We are strong and determined with God behind us.
Trump is not going to save us.
He hasn’t stuck up for anybody or anything that doesn’t benefit him these days.
He came to drain the swamp then surrounded himself with the swamp. Why?
Even when asked his opinion of Dr. Fauchi it was he liked him. Anything he (Fauchi) said I did the opposite. (paraphrased)
Does he not realize it’s not about the “I?”
By not perhaps firing or even telling the mad scientist to get back to his lab and keep his lying mouth shut on the news he ((IMHO)) allowed this chaos to go beyond the pale.
And so it continues…
Just sayin’

Meemur - I agree with most of your post. However, I firmly posit that we are already in that war, and the Gov (however one defines it these days) STARTED IT. The possibility that external sources are fueling or compelling (blackmail?) that "Gov" looks ever more real. The weapons being used against us don't leave physical wounds, as much as they do the internal ones.

Keeping that BP down is absolutely essential right now. So is plenty of sleep, eating right, physical strength & stamina and having trusted friends/family. Faith, if one is inclined that way is always a good thing, too. I'm learning to let a lot of things just go - because they're distracting me from what I know I need to be doing at the moment. Survival is the prime directive now -- and that covers all the bases, doesn't it?

I can see that point of view, too. The Biden Administration/CCP vaccine mandates are a threat, along with the Afghanistan
FUBAR and previous EOs, which has crossed the line in the sand for some folks.

I, personally, will remain in wait-and-see mode for the moment, but that's certainly not the only choice.

I heard Ohio lawmakers voted to end health mandates in June.
They tied his hands.
If any Ohioans can confirm or correct me if I’ve misunderstood.

Yes, the Legislature did that. I suspect the devil is in the details on that. If he has any wiggle room, he may take it. Fortunately he is being challenged in the primary and may need to reign himself in in hopes of prevailing.
