Haircuts - Aaaargh!! My hair has become 'layered' thanks to the thin elastic bands on the masks that are provided at work; they cut right through hair. I don't like getting haircuts as it then takes at least a week or two before I figure out how to manage my hair again - if I have patience enough to even try. I think back to my teen years when 'styling my hair' meant brushing my hair across the ironing board and ironing it straight with an actual iron, while trying not to singe the tips of my ears... things were easier back then
OGM, thanks for the reminder to check for on sale corned beef briskets - it cans up well and is great to have on hand for hash.
I cut some of that Creeping Charlie earlier in the week and let it dry; tried making a cup of tea out of it this morning since Hiwall and others convinced me that it was a good thing rather than the demon spawn that was trying to take over the world that I was convinced it was... Let's just say that it will likely be an acquired taste. And I'm gonna take my time acquiring it
And since it doesn't have any caffiene, I think I'm gonna stick with coffee this morning...
And speaking of coffee, I'm lollygagging over my mine while writing out a to-do list. I know - I'm getting late start on it. I took a nap after I got home from work/pool/lunch with pals yesterday, so I was up way later than I should have been, and barely woke up when Hubby came in to tell me he was leaving.
Hubby is off to his first shooting match since November, and I haven't heard from daughter - it's still too early to call her since I think the boys went to sleepovers last night. I'm not sure if the grandsons will be out today or even this weekend as yet - it does look like it would be a great weekend for riding dirt bikes; and there are even still a few muddy spots the little one can ride through, since he seems to enjoy that. Hubby swapped out the manual shift on older grandson's bike for an auto one a few weeks ago and grandson hasn't tried it out yet. I need to familiarize myself with the change, just in case it ends up being my bug-out bike. The older one has had another growth spurt and lacks just a an inch or so to match my height; Papaw might need to start looking for a deal on a larger bike for him soon...
Menards has plastic shelving units on a sale/rebate deal - I'm not much of a fan of Menards, but I'm wanting to get my pantry more organized - right now it has a mish-mash of assorted shelves. I was thinking about having the carpenter come out and build me some shelves, but I may have to turn that room back in to a bedroom some day so don't really want built-ins. I want shelves of a height that I can get things off the top shelf without a step-stool as using step stools or ladders is up near the top of the list of things that cause falls for old folks, and I have a nasty tendency to break when I fall. I may go to Rural King to look at shelves instead, and if their prices are close I will get the shelves there instead since it is Church Week March 14-27 - they will donate 10% of of the actual cost of items (sans tax) to a registered Christian organization of your choice. I like the plastic shelves as they are light enough for me to put together (love my rubber mallet!) and move on my own - and since I'm so darn short, I figure I get a bargain when I buy 4 - 5 shelf/72" tall units - I turn them in to 5 - 4 shelf units that are 60" tall instead lol!
Dollar General has a few sales I'm going to take advantage of today - I've got the usual $5 off $25 Saturday coupon, plus there are several laundry detergent coupons that I plan to take advantage of for daughter. I'll also pick up some Easter basket goodies since Easter Sunday is just a couple of weekends away.
Well, I just heard the washer kick off so it's time to take the towels out and put my work clothes in - sun is shining and there is a nice breeze so things should dry quickly on the line. I need to do some housework but it looks like the boys and dog will be here sometime this weekend, so no sense sweeping or mopping - that can wait until Monday.
You folks all take care out there - stay safe, and have a great weekend!
