From what I understand, the reasoning behind this is to clarify the purpose of her legal fund. She is not being paid by POTUS, as she is not on his payroll. What she done so far has been pro bono essentially, and she has offered her time and expertise generously. Her legal fund is, therefore, a means to continue doing so with the help of those who would like to contribute.

I think she is doing this so that she can go for "Discovery" if they try to come after her or take it personal. Plus, this frees up Seculow and others to attack from a different angle. People on the defensive that have done major crimes usually mess up if two or more are offensively attacking from different angles. It becomes a two (or more) front war and you QUICKLY develop chinks in your armor for all to see and start taking advantage of.

President Donald Trump’s legal team distanced themselves from attorney Sidney Powell on Sunday evening, noting that she did not represent the president, either as part of the team or in his personal capacity.
In a statement attributed to Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani, and Trump legal adviser Jenna Ellis, the team said: “Sidney Powell is practicing law on her own. She is not a member of the Trump Legal Team. She is also not a lawyer for the President in his personal capacity.”
A source who spoke to Breitbart News on background suggested that the team had hoped to work with her, but that Powell’s public claims had gone beyond the scope of the evidence they had seen and believed they could prove in court.
Powell had pursued a theory that Dominion voting machines, operating with Smartmatic software, were manipulable and had been responsible for switching votes from Trump to Democratic challenger Joe Biden. She also alleged that Dominion had worked with foreign governments, including Venezuela, and produced an affidavit purporting to support that allegation.
She had not yet provided evidence that votes had actually been changed, however, and has faced increasing public criticism.
Powell, an outspoken conservative, gained wide acclaim for her representation of former National Security Adviser Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn (Ret.), who withdrew his guilty plea after being prosecuted for lying to the FBI.
Flynn’s previous lawyers had negotiated a plea agreement, but after new evidence emerged of conflicts of interest at the Department of Justice (DOJ), he asked Powell to take up his defense. The DOJ is trying to drop the prosecution, but the judge in the case has not agreed.

They are distancing themselves from all the claims of fraud that she made, since none have been able to be proven. She tried to push it and they are letting her sink with the entire mess.

Even in a normal time if there was not a hint of fraud, electoral votes could still be overturned on the date they are presented for official counting in the joint session of congress.
However, this is not a normal time. This is a national election that has in all probability been corrupted by foreign and domestic actors, and possibly even reaching the threshold of an act of war if it can be tied to national governmental actors.
This is all uncharted waters and the normal dates don't matter except for Jan 20. It will get quite bumpy as the traitors fight for their world view of slavery and chains, but this is something that TRUMP and team already know.
TRUMP and team are fighting for all of us, and it is a fight for the ages. It will determine whether our country can return to a republic or finally end up being a banana country ruled by the elites with their phantom vote machines not needing the actual people to vote.

Supposedly the FBI is not investigating ANY of the possible election fraud. There is so much crap floating around now that I can't remember where I read it.

However, the attorney must first apply for admission to appear before each district court. If admitted, the attorney is not required to take the state bar exam where the district court is located.
