Report: Kamala Harris's Ancestors Owned Slaves, Too
Joel B. Pollak

3-4 minutes

The ancestors of Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) owned slaves — according to her father, Stanford University economics professor Donald Harris.

The information was reported Wednesday by the Washington Free Beacon, citing a genealogical report written by Harris’s father, Stanford University economics professor Donald Harris.

The Free Beacon noted:
Donald Harris, a Stanford University economics professor, revealed in 2018 that his grandmother was a descendant of Hamilton Brown, the namesake of Brown’s Town in northern Jamaica.
“My roots go back, within my lifetime, to my paternal grandmother Miss Chrishy (née Christiana Brown, descendant of Hamilton Brown who is on record as plantation and slave owner and founder of Brown’s Town),” he wrote in a post for Jamaica Global.

A research archive of Jamaican records indicate that at one point in 1817, Hamilton Brown owned scores of slaves. The majority were brought in from Africa, though he also owned many Creole slaves.
Harris is among the leading contenders for the Democratic Party presidential nomination. If elected next year, she would become the first black female president — and the first Asian-American president, she has claimed, based on her mother’s Indian origins.

NBC News reported Monday that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) was descended from slave owners.
In a report titled “Sen. Mitch McConnell’s great-great-grandfathers owned 14 slaves, bringing reparations issue close to home,” NBC noted:
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who said recently he opposes paying government reparations to the descendants of American slaves, has a family history deeply entwined in the issue: Two of his great-great-grandfathers were slave owners, U.S. census records show.
The two great-great-grandfathers, James McConnell and Richard Daley, owned a total of at least 14 slaves in Limestone County, Alabama — all but two of them female, according to the county “Slave Schedules” in the 1850 and 1860 censuses.
In his defense, McConnell noted that former President Barack Obama, the nation’s first black president, had ancestors on his mother’s side who were slave owners.

The New York Post reported that McConnell also noted that Obama also opposed reparations.

I’m just here for the gasoline...
Friends of mine that are democrats are pretty pleased with the pick. To me she's kind of a 'meh' running mate, but that's probably OK for Biden. She's not as polarizing as Warren would have been.

Not too long ago, I saw her pictured, threatening to get rid of all of us if they won! Does anyone else here recall that? I know I am not dreaming.

I'm still looking up her positions. Erik Erickson said something about her wanting to "lock all of us up" who wanted to go to church during Covid (and maybe even NOT during Covid, for all I know)

because she has already been deeply entrenched as part and parcel of BO's cartel

The Obama Administration knew Trump was never working for Russia, the reason they trotted out National Security Advisor Susan Rice (Benghazi Liar as UN Ambassador) to accuse Trump officials of treason against their own country was because they were more concerned about the rise of China (UN), Obama Administration's allies (9:29)

She's the candidate I would have picked for him.
Because I want him to have the absolute worst candidate available.

Cuz she laughed about putting young black men in jail for smoking pot. Her minority African DNA is not American black. no one's going to stand in line for 10 hours to vote for an Indian woman who likes to put black people in jail

Surprisingly, she expresses support for Israel and opposition to anti-semitism, BUT--"She was a co-sponsor of a Senate resolution expressing objection to the UN Security Council Resolution 2334, which condemned Israeli settlement building in the occupied Palestinian territories as a violation of international law."

"Woke" is convenient. It overlooks those truths which are inconvenient - and emphasizes those truths which are not.

"Feelz" is different than "facts."

"Harris is 'due' her vice-presidency because she looks the part."

But so many others get left out.

Hillary says "See how evenly I tan?"

Warren says "I always burn - its my native background."

And Buttigieg says "My hair smells good too!"

Better Kamala than the Wookie! I have to look at the silly face of whomever Crazy Uncle Joe picks whenever the TV isn't on a PBS station.

They are spending millions on political ads here in Iowa.

Well initially, I thought Trump would be defeated in November based on voters' perception of the pandemic response. But now with Biden picking Harris-I think Trump might very well win. Harris will be a huge drag on the ticket. She wasn't even popular among democratic primary voters.

And Gov. Kim Reynolds is handing Iowa over to them….

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds Caves to Black Lives Matter, Grants Felons Voting Rights

August 5, 2020

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds (R) caved to Black Lives Matter and signed an executive order on Wednesday granting voting rights to those who have served their felony sentences.

“When someone serves their sentence and pays the price our justice system has set for their crime, they should have their right to vote restored automatically, plain and simple,” Reynolds said during a press conference on Wednesday.

Reynolds said her executive order would restore the “voting rights of some felons.” She added that her order requires Iowans to complete their sentences, and they will still require those who committed felony homicide offenses to apply for voting rights restoration individually.

“This is a cause on which so many Iowans have worked on,” she added.

The order will allow thousands of Iowans to vote in the upcoming November elections, which has significant implications for the reelection of President Donald Trump, Sen. Joni Ernst’s (R-IA) reelection, and the swing congressional districts in the state.

The Des Moines Register wrote that Reynolds had resisted calls to sign an executive order granting voting rights to felons.

However, Reynolds reportedly promised to sign an executive order in June after meeting with activists from the Des Moines, Iowa, Black Lives Matter, the NAACP, and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).

Since that meeting, Black Lives Matter lobbied Reynolds to sign an executive order and allow potential felons to vote less than 90 days ahead of the 2020 elections.

Reynolds has called for a constitutional amendment to automatically restore voting rights to felons once they have completed their sentences; however, the majority Republican state Senate blocked her constitutional amendment. Passing an amendment would enshrine the voting rights policy in the state constitution.

Previous governors have taken opposing views on restoring voting rights. Gov. Tom Vilsack (D) signed an executive order restoring felon voting rights in 2005, but Reynolds, predecessor, Gov. Terry Brandstad (R), scrapped the Democrat executive shortly after taking office in 2011.

Aaron Klein, formerly a Breitbart News senior investigative reporter, wrote in 2019 that progressive organizations, financed by George Soros, have worked “overtime” to restore voting rights in many battleground states such as Florida.

Reynolds called her executive order a temporary solution and reiterated her call for a “permanent solution” by passing a constitutional amendment.

“Let me be clear: an executive order is, at best, a temporary solution. It can be changed with a stroke of a pen by the next governor, which is not good enough,” the Iowa Republican said. “Something that is fundamentally right should not be based on benevolence of a single elected official.”

Yep, the pundits thought she had a good track to the nomination herself, but once the primaries started, I didn't see them lining up to vote Kamala...
