INSANITY Minneapolis City Council vows to 'dismantle' police department: report

Only worry about what you can control!

Members of the Minneapolis City Council pledged to “dismantle” the city’s police department in the wake of worldwide protests over the killing of George Floyd.

Council President Lisa Bender joined several other members in promises to drastically change how public safety is upheld in the city.

“We are going to dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department and replace it with a transformative new model of public safety,” Bender tweeted.

I wonder just how close the "transformative new model" will be to the Stasi of East Germany?

ETA: I ask because we already saw the Left do a trial run of neighbors snitching on each other with the China virus, so they know Americans will do it. And the Stasi relied on a small number of actual agent supported by a wide network of people ratting each other out.

I just want to see how social workers and paramedics (as replacements in the article) are going to handle a live shooter event in a Walmart, Corporate Setting, City Hall or wherever... There will be no business or good families left in that city within a year.

I am going to wait and see what comes to light on this, some of the more serious rumors I've heard about this police force (especially connection to money laundering, etc) suggest that it MAY need to be reorganized.

That isn't a "new" idea and it isn't usually the same thing as just firing everyone on the force, instead it usually means a review of most folks in the leadership positions; firing or re-assigning some of them and bringing in some outside leadership from other areas.

I can't remember which major city it was, but I know this has happened elsewhere before.

What does disturb me is the "fad" for "defunding" police departments, which strikes me as rather dangerous and simply likely to lead worse problems.

One reason in the "good" old days going back to the 1970s police in Mexico (and many other third world countries) were almost always on the take wasn't just "culture" it was also the severe underpayments so the "average" copy had to take "gifts" in order to feed their families.

That is NOT a good system and never ends well (fast forward a few decades and Mexico is now mostly in a state of anarchy with local gangs acting as warlords and some areas really no longer governered by Mexico at all).

What makes this all the more problematic, particularly in the case of Minneapolis, the same political party has been running the whole show for decades so TPTB more than just own it.

ETA: That makes this whole opera all the more disengenuous......

But snitch to who? Who’s going to come to the rescue? If you see someone getting mugged or you’re aware of drug trade going on in the house down the street, who are you going to snitch to if there’s no police? In this scenario, you’ve gotta go take care of that yourself.

Go ahead and defund the police in blue cities that need the police the most because of the level of crime

let us know how that works out for you. The Purge is right but not just for 24 hours, more let all purge all the time

Business leaves

Non criminals leave

No Tax base, no revenue

It sounds like the normal liberal problem solving infrastructure. I came up with the grand idea but it is up to someone else to figure out how to make it work.
If it fails it is because the plan was not implemented properly....

I'm in total agreement.

Defund the police. BUT only in the Twin Cities, NY, LA, and Chicago as test cases. Let us see how that works out, and then we will consider whether to implement it in the rest of the country.

I think the vast majority of the Antifa army will go back to their posh neighborhoods and life in mom’s basement to play video games.

If the dedicated true believers start community policing the courts would self destruct as they would start only jailing people for political thought crime.

Those with any means and any reasonable business would leave to spread their progressive votes to the neighboring locations and preferably states. The remaining utopian hell would destroyed by Soro’s and evil democrats would next ask for the UN to come in and ‘save this example of the evils of capitalism and the American ideal’

A brilliant coordinated plan of destruction with an entire political party as a major supporting cast member.

We better get in front of this one imho.

No police dept?.................I guess then having no more Negroes there as a better solution is out of the question?

How about a transformation of the way we deal with criminals rather than enforcing our laws?..................Anyone caught in a violent crime is sterilized..............and a 3 strike rule.............after 3 violent crimes you are castrated.........

The police have become a problem because a certain group of people have made them a problem................

Okay ........Thought experiment..........

Imagine waking up tomorrow and you and every White person is all of a sudden in Sub Saharan Africa.......just the way it is right now but with the exception that there is not one Black African of any kind there...........................and at the same time only Black people inhabit the USA with everything the way it is right now.......

Under those circumstances what do you think the USA would look like in 1 week..............1 month.............1 year.........10 years?

What do you think Sub Saharan Africa wold look like in 1 week..................1 month............1 year.............10 years?

I challenge anyone regardless of your racial, political, or religious stance..................tell me what would the answer to that thought experiment be?

when I see us discussing the "dismantling" of the police my thoughts Immediately go to Nowski's multiple previous comments on the CIVIL RIGHTS II laws where blacks will not be prosecuted - to an ever increasing extent, that's happening RIGHT NOW in many of the big blue cities where certain classes of crime are no longer prosecuted - or even responded to.

I see this as PHASE TWO of that effort.

in a recent conversation with a fire lieutenant shortly after the events in Minneapolis . . . they were all in the kitchen having dinner and the discussion was POLICE and the right to defend your self . . . he was shocked to hear a couple of the people there - one a white male early 40's say that you "should not be able to shot someone breaking into your house if THEY do not have a weapon" . . . how you were supposed to know that never got answered. that's where we've landed in this upside down mess.

The police, the military, and the courts, all exist on this continent to PROTECT all enemies, foreign and domestic, from the righteous retribution that they deserve, at the hands of those who would eliminate such threats to America, with extreme prejudice.

Conduct yourselves accordingly.

this outa be causing some you all to have nightmares and some you all to be having wet dreams
No PoPo...wow
Strap on that hog leg and get ready for the ride of your life.
the implication being with no police there is no respect for law as a white culture we developed.
ergo its every man for himself and DAMN the women and kids.
yeah I can see this working
Hell just yesterday that idiot Mayor of LA said they were cutting the police budget by $150 MILLION.
Now this Nut sac in Minneapolis, pandering to the crowds but Abolish it.........sad we are living in times such as this.
Does this not remind ANYONE but me of the decline and Fall of Republic of South Africa in the 70"s

Only the "connected" get to snitch. Called by Ayn Rand "Government of Pull."

In essence a "Mob" lead by a "Mobster."

As to human rights - your rights are what the Mob tells you are your rights. No rule of law with equal application for all.

If you see drug trade down the street, you CAN'T tell anyone because that drug trade may be "connected" - and you put yourself as "outlier" to the Mob if you complain - or even point it out.

"Hump? Wot hump?"

It becomes up to you to protect yourself and your own in the best way you can - possibly at the forfeit of your own life.

they ain't gonna do squat - the police force is unionized and this would drag out for months in court

You need to study the social credit score system in China. Their systems are very effective in policing the people with no jails or police. In fact its very shocking how well it has worked in a few short months.

Right up to the moment where you or a loved one needs life-saving medical care. Then the 1850’s wouldn’t look so great.

YOU KNOW I’M RIGHT.

we all come here with an expiration date boss . . . IMHO one of the MOST IMPORTANT things to learn from life is the pleasure of . . . blessed S I M P L I C I T Y . . . we ALL had that then. harder, shorter, lives - possibly - but the trade offs were healthier, simpler and happier.

I've been blessed with Raggedyann . . . the first wife was a country club queen - I feel certain the EAGLES based the song Too Busy Being Fabulous on her . . .

Lyrics
I came home to an empty house
And I found your little note
'Don't wait up for me tonight'
And that was all she wrote

Do you think I don't know that you're out on the town
With all of your high-rollin' friends?
What do you do when you come up empty?
Where do you go when the party ends?

And you were just too busy being fabulous
Too busy to think about us
I don't know what you were dreamin’ of
Somehow you forgot about love
And you were just too busy being fabulous, uh huh

A little time in the country
A day or two to slow down
A bottle of wine and a walk in the moonlight
Maybe some foolin' around
But you think time is just a magazine
And money's just a thrill
I've waited so long for you to change your way of livin'
Now I realize that you never will

'Cause you were just too busy being fabulous
Too busy to think about us
Lookin' for somethin’ you'll never find
Never know what you left behind

'Cause you were just too busy being fabulous, uh huh
You tell a joke and everybody's laughin'
That's somethin’ you know how to do
You've always been the life of the party
But now, my baby, the joke is on you

'Cause you were just too busy being fabulous
Too busy to think about us
Runnin’ after somethin’ that never comes
What in the world are you runnin' from?

And you were just too busy being fabulous
Too busy to think about us
To drink the wine from your winner's cup
To notice the children were growin' up

And you were just too busy being fabulous
Too busy, too busy
Oh, too busy
Oh, baby

Justification for being "connected."

Make connection "attractive" because disconnection can be so much a drag.

One of Ayn Rand's earliest books is "We the Living." Describes life in Soviet Russia and their own version of a connection system - sad ending. We the Living - Wikipedia

"Closest I ever wrote to an autobiography" according to Rand.

Not going to happen. Over the years many cities have tried to close down their police
departments, Minneapolis is way too large to go without regular zoo keepers. Smaller departments
have gone to contract deputies with the county. These council members are dreaming.

also, the suburbs have their own police, why no or few problems in these places? there are only racist answers.

We have a winner.

The musloids already have their "Sharia Patrols" in some places.

Wanna bet that the Saudis would flood mosqes with money to gear up a large force.
