That being said the ex-officer will probably be charged with Murder 3 and it will be up to the prosecutors to aggravate the charge with a hate crime. That may be a bridge too far just because the 2 are of different races.

To be sure the judge will sentence the full 25 years and that probably won't be enough for the people. But nothing would be other than death.

Derek Chauvin, 44, was charged with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in the case. He was also accused of ignoring another officer at the scene who expressed concerns about the black man as he lay handcuffed on the ground, pleading that he could not breathe. Floyd had been arrested on suspicion of using a counterfeit bill at a small grocery store.

Old news related to the gangs. Gangs been in since the 70's at least. Heard the Navy relieved a carrier CO cuz he had the gangers take over one section of his ship.

When I did crowd control/ riot training in the early eighties, regular army 11B. Batons were the choice instrument for moving people, then second line with fix steel, magazine in, no ammo. Ammo stayed under the control of the armory ....
