Try goodrx.com - different prices at different pharmacies. Price varies but will give discounted price at most of your local pharmacies. I get anywhere from 10% to 50% of what the copay alone would be with Medicare Advantage. They have an EZ to use app for your phone. You will have to arrange with your Dr. to call in the Rx to the pharmacy you choose or get a hard copy of the Rx to go shopping with. No other Medicare or co-insurance required - it's a stand alone deal and free to use.

Just did a small curbside pickup order. VERY small- cilantro, hatch chile sauce, pickles, hamburger buns, and some toiletries. I am really craving a burger (turkey) with sliced tomato, onions (I have), and pickles. The only thing they didn't have ANY- tomatoes.....

I went out this morning...needed gas for the mower and truck washed 'cuz of all the sap falling out of the maples the other day. (N. MN) Stopped at the grocery store for some fresh veg and fruit, and to grab some of the sirloin tip roast and steaks they had this week for $4.94/lb. It isn't a super deal, but there's a lot more pork out there than beef at decent prices, and can't hurt to keep the freezer full. The store looked perfectly normal...saw they were back to ~10 different kinds of TP, lots of cleaning supplies. I didn't check the baking stuff, canned goods etc, because I didn't need it, but sure no problem keeping fed from what I could see.

Then to the meat store. They had their bacon wrapped tenderloins on sale - 4/$12.00 on the beef and 5/$10.00 on the pork. Very tasty, single serving sized, and perfect for the grill. Also got some wild rice brats and bless their hearts...had a FINE selection of their chicken summer sausage. This week, tried the BBQ PepperJack. Another winner! That little butcher shop/whistle stop grocery even had all things back in stock. They are a pre-cabin stop for the "summer people", and they were loaded up with dairy, eggs, canned goods (baked beans, soup, chili, veg), paper goods (including TP and paper towels) bread and buns, condiments, you name it.

I am about past paying attention to mask/no mask, but my general impression is that fewer people are wearing them this week. Certainly got no shade myself for not wearing one.

Made another food and beer run today. No shortages. Ground beef that was $22.00 a 3 lb pack was all stickered up with managers special and reduced in prices back to where they used to be. I bought one lb. Boneless skinless chicken breast was $2.79 a lb but I opted for Predue all natural split breast marked down to .99 a lb. I'll just cleave off the meat and freeze while using the bones for cabbage soup.

Almost all beef and pork at the Save A Lot nearest me was/is labeled Product of Mexico. We haven't bought any of it.

Not a grocery store report it called for reservations at our favorite restaurant here in the UP of. I hogan and owner told me that they can’t get prime rib or rib-eyes on their truck...if they do, those cuts of meat are over $20 per pound.

Went to local Save A Lot yesterday ( EKY ) ground beef was over $7.00 lb.

Pork Chops were $8.49 lb

Geeeeeee

Oh my! That's high for Save A Lot! Still, I wish our local Save A Lot hadn't gone out of business. It happened when Aldi's came to town. Save A Lot was a large store, neat, and clean, with lots of fresh produce and meat. Cheap prices on everything. Our Aldi's is small, and looks run down, nothing looks fresh, even though it's a newer store. I hate going there.

I didn't know where else to put this post but here. Saw it as a ray of hope...a little light at the end of the tunnel despite Covid and riots. ;)

I zipped up to the post office (N. MN) to mail some stuff. Yes..they are still open! Haha! On the way, passed the little bar/supper club that's sorta umbilically attached to the local outdoor arena/horse show grounds. Busy place, feeding people who weren't doing the BBQ/tailgate thing on their own. A big get-together playday going on with the horse people, both parking lots full with about 30 truck and trailers, and a good 50 horse and rider pairs having fun together on a beautiful sunny day, defying the virus and the crazy crap percolating down in the Twin Cities.

Contrary to popular opinion and intent, America is still breathing.

We went to Harbor Freight today. Their shelves are getting empty. I could see a lot of spaces that were empty. The failure of China to ship is beginning to show.

Good report. I'm going to check my store when I return their Chicom recalled defective jack stands.

Heads up.

Picked up some 1.5# bags of dried black beans a few weeks back. I've been picking up what was available when ever I find them. Was planning on filling up a 2/5 bucket and Mylar & O2 absorber them when I had enough. Well that was two weeks back. When I lifted the top of the bucket to add a couple of more bags the bottom of the bucket was filled with beetles!! WTF?!?!

I suspect suppliers are scrapping the bottom of the barrels and throwing anything on the trucks to keep things moving. So double check all your produce.

I've never had any problems or infestations on Mylar and O2 absorbered dry goods.....AFTER YEARS OF STORAGE. Those beans didn't last two weeks.

Neither here nor there.
We went to Hardees for lunch today, they had signs up about beef and other meat shortages, no roast beef, no chicken, and you could only purchase a single patty burger. No refills on drinks, everything was behind the counter so you have to ask for a straw, etc.

I was in Costco in Winston-Salem, NC today. There was plenty of meat in the coolers. The price has seemed to have gone up 15 or 20 percent but not horibble. There a limit of 3 packs of meat per membership.

Freeze them for 72 hours after getting them. That will solve the problem until you can bag them up properly. Same with rice.

We have been tracking price increases and have seen similar numbers 15-20% across the board.

I give up.
FL: Went grocery shopping yesterday at Winn-Dixie. They seemed to have everything, including paper products. We scored a 6-pack of Kleenex, which I love because each tissue pops up, and a giant pack of Scott Tissue, and believe it or not the second-last real hand sanitizer. We left one for someone else. Got home, reviewed the receipt and the freaking hand sanitizer was $5. hahaha. For a one dollar bottle. Oh well, at least we have an extra. Meat prices are steadily climbing a little higher each week. Store ground beef way up, so I got yet another pack of my local grass-fed. Chicken prices were up too. I didn't really look at pork prices, but got a small pack of 3 thick slices of pork loin for around $4. I'll sneak that in somewhere as my son isn't crazy about pork. Maybe bake it in cream of celery soup so it's nice and tender.

Needed to get to the feed store this morning before the T-storms hit, so I figured, no messing around, I'll run to the farm & fleet in Rez-town, the a quick stop at Aldi for some of the highlight stuff. Should be a safe demographic/shithead-free zone, given the times.

Instead, I actually ran into my first "dot-cop" male Karen at the feed & fleet store no less. All of about 6 people total waiting and 3 registers open. Scrawny old long-grey-haired vegan-looking dude with a woman of the same description, pointing at the 6 foot space dots on the floor and telling everybody where they should be standing. Truth be told, some folks in line were giving each other an extra dot, but this guy obviously could not stand for that. Karens really look sucked up and pissy when certain other people laugh at them. Har har.

Anyway, otherwise, the feed/fleet store was cool. The Rustoleum paint aisle was looking sparse. (One of the things I was after this morning) and a quart was up to almost $10.00/can. Aldi was looking like it had been hit by a plague of locusts over the weekend, but still not too bad for a Monday morning. The had plenty of flour and sugar, paper products of all kinds, cleaning stuff, and the produce was just fine and lovely, which was what I was after anyway. They didn't have my favorite pickled red cabbage and apple, or the jars of sliced pickled beets, but I guess I'll survive the week without them.

Oh...and the mask-wearing brigade seems to be getting more rare every week.

I made a quick run to the local small town Kroger this morning with a short list. All stock looked good - plenty of everything. The only thing noteworthy, to me, was the price of ground beef. The 1 lb roll of store brand 80/20 ground beef was up to $5.99. There was lots of it and I did grudgingly get one to add to the ones already in my freezer.

DH wanted more Sevindust, so I looked on amazon and ebay. Amazon had one seller selling three for $14, Ebay had on going for $45. Needless to say I ordered 6 from Amazon.

Judy

We've been looking for Sevin dust, too. We finally found some at our local Farm Supply store. Cary bought 4 bags, but I don't know the price he paid. It must be scarce this year.

Went to Safeway in North Denver on Friday - limits are back on TP - limit 1 per customer. Noticed that they were out of a lot of stuff that they had in their ad. Still no yeast, but was able to score 2 5 lb packages of King Arthur Bread Flour which I had been looking for as I was getting low. Had store brand Kleenex on sale - 4 for $5 so I got 4.

Went to Kroger on Friday since Safeway didn't have any egg roll skins (weird, but ok). Lots of TP, but soups, canned meat still pretty decimated. Did buy another 10-lb bag of long grain Basmati Rice since I don't feel like braving Costco just yet. No yeast and very little baking powder. Picked up some store brand Italian Sausage since that seems to agree with us and also found the Hatch Green Chili Johnsonville brats which are wonderful! Kroger is the only place I can find them.

Checker told me that although the TP was stocked it would only last for that day (they got the truck in Thursday night). Guess the TP/PT panic is still on.

What totally mystifies me is why I can't seem to get DW detergent or Rinse Aid. I've got plenty of DW detergent (use Finish tabs), and did find a bottle of some no name brand of Rinse Aid. Because people are finally having to do dishes when staying home? Beats me.

I just thought I would mention this. On our way to town shopping, I was surprised to see how many people had started little "victory gardens". Around in our area, most people haven't had gardens of any kind in years. I guess with the shortages and higher prices, people are worried, and are reverting back to how is used to be done when we were more agrarian around here. I think it's great.

Rosauers in Lewiston Idaho. Pretty unremarkable with the usual shortages of soup, yeast etc. Picked up a couple ten pound bags of flour for $2.29. Weirdly there was not one single bottle of shampoo left. They had put a few random bottles of body wash to hold the spot. Who comes in and buys ALL the shampoo? And why??

Some light at the end of the tunnel, I hope. Today we went to Sams Club in West Ky. They had a decent amount of beef, not normal levels yet, but much better than 2-3 weeks ago. The best news, 90-10 ground beef was $4.28 a pound and I did not see any signs with purchase limits. Since we’re pretty well stocked, I just got one pack of burger and a few sirloin steaks. Many people were stocking up though.

Price per ounce cat food is outrageously expensive, just saying!

This is great news that people are gardening again, it relieves stress off of the system when people can eat out of their gardens ensuring that there is more for those who cannot garden. This is what I told a liberal snowflake idiot who was pizzed off because her husband wanted to put in some raised gardens. She just couldn't phantom that the food tastes better. Don't know if she finally caved and let him put them in or not, she's one of those weird mowing nazis that gets off on mowing multiple acres. Me I'd turn those multiple acres into food plots and an orchard for our own use.

Upstate, rural NY; no pasta at Aldies' , only brand name DW soap, no paper towels, limits on canned goods and flour and sugar. Freezer section was low.

I hear ya! We don't have but 1.25 acres, but our whole back yard is in raised beds with plenty of room left for a good sized regular garden if we ever want to use it. We also have a small orchard, peach, apple, fig, and mulberry trees, plus a muscadine trellis. Even though our health isn't what it used to be, we decided it was time to do what we could this year.

Our oldest son and DIL were married 1 year in May. She had no experience with growing a garden, but they both were determined this year to start one. I'm so proud of them. Their garden looks better than ours, and we've had years of experience. They got theirs in early, and we waited almost too late.
