I went to Home Depot to get yet another small paint roller (for base boards and those skinny places between a door frame and a wall)
there were NONE

Interesting. In N. Ga everything except tp and organic flour and yeast were about back to normal. Oh, and small bottles of hand soap were out of stock. But Publix and Kroger (a little pricier than WM) had full shelves of everything, and you would never know there was a meat shortage.

Talked to our little local market about case lot orders of canned goods. They were happy to oblige but could not promise what might be in stock or at what price. So we just went open ended on it. Truck will be here Wed. ...

Doing our best on a garden but gotta do something with the coronacash - just in case, it is better to have and not need than vice versa.

Hardware and garden supplies were quite depleted when I tried to order online. Paint brushes, initially successfully added to the cart were zeroed out at the pickup. Garden hose repair parts also zeroed.
I’ve since ordered these items on eBay, but I’ll bet they are all china sourced.

Same in Florida, or at least for the areas I've been shopping ... Jacksonville, US 90 corridor before the panhandle area, and the Tampa Bay region.

I wonder if this was a stocking issue, rather than a stock issue.

Nope, not stocking issue. Have to report the same thing from Colorado. YS and GK went to Wally to get the GK some new t-shirts and tennis shoes. Were able to get the shirts, but no shoes.

Last time I was there about 3 weeks ago there were huge holes in those sections because it all came from China and they aren't getting resupplied.

People will wake up and realize just how much of the goods we purchase come from china. I try to get my DH to understand this but he refuses to believe it. There was something yesterday I suggested he get extra on and he said there is plenty in the warehouses. I just shake my head. He will be upset when he can't replace things he uses in all the things he does around here, but he will not go hungry, because I've got that covered.

He took his tractor to be repaired two weeks ago but we've not heard anything from them. He bought it in October 2019.

We are going to have ups and downs, then downs and downs. Don't say I did not warn you. It is likely going to get much worse and whether it gets 'Better'? Well, that depends on if you see "Better" as a January 2019 POV or January 1890 as a POV.

Walmart and Target are the same in S. Utah. Will I was in electronics at Walmart someone was asking about televisions. The associate said they are all gone and he doesn't know when more are coming in.

The customer said he has been trying other stores and it was the same story.

I reported on another thread a week or so ago about home depot being mostly out of stoves in their appliance dept. Most items were targeting a mid to late summer delivery date. At the time the stove with the most inventory only had about 100 units in the atlanta area warehouse. Seeing as that warehouse supports about 60 stores they may be close to being out of that model by today.

Walmart in my AO is also out of or very low on TV's 65 inches or larger. And we've all heard of the issues with freezers and someone else reported supply issues with ac units

Shoes, clothes and towels doesn't surprise me anymore.

One thing on my to do list is to take an inventory of my nut-bolt supply and place an order online to reup my personal inventory levels. A lot of nuts & bolts are sourced from china.

when you go to the store look for storage bins. you know, the ones that are about the size of two folded bed spreads.

I was over at Home Depot recently in the laminate floor section. there are about 4 aisles of flooring. but right in the middle, there was half an aisle of "storage bins" just taking up space.

And by that time, Trump will have told them how we are going to fix the China problem. Landslide in Nov. I believe Trump tried to work with China and get a fair deal, thinking they would keep to the agreements. He has now turned the corner and is going to use this opportunity to break off ties and bring our people home. Or at least to somewhere else in Asia. Opinion.

In SW VA, my WM has really improved as far as foodstuffs. Clothing appears to be about normal. Paper goods and cleaning supplies are improved, but still limited. They now have camping, coolers, and things usually found over by garden section taking up some of the room. I was looking for a carpet cleaner and everywhere was sold out...Target, WM, Lowes, HD. Finally found one at Best Buy. Electronics limited. I also was looking for a bed skirt. Sheets, pillowcases, ect was wiped out.

Finally not a lurker!
Base commissary largely back to normal but tp still on very short supply along with H2O2 and disinfecting alcohol. Probably helped by base restrictions to only people living there and mission essential being allowed access.

The stock market guys say "lower highs and lower lows."

Friend works for a high end building contractor that does the gated community stuff in KC. They are having a tough time getting hardware and other building stuff to finish out their custom homes. They have resorted to buying case lots of what ever they can find instead of the more customer chosen cool stuff. Business is good and houses selling like hot cakes.

Most communities with at least a few thousand people here now have a Walmart - I think Anchorage has 3 now. It’s not a store I frequent but I will check out the one in Wasilla today and the Eagle River and Anchorage stores tomorrow. I can tell you we too do see shortages in the stores like Fred Meyer, Safeway/Carrs, Home Depot, Lowes plus the local greenhouses, even the big ones. I ask at everyone if they are just getting things out late or if they are running out - my usual shopping date for veg starts is late May. They all say they are just out of stock. Good thing I did more seed starts this year.

Also have been told that my prescription meds are out of stock at the warehouses and help myself to calling around to various pharmacies to see if anyone still has some on their shelf. Generic, different dose...doesn’t matter. This one is a bit more unsettling.

Same on painting supplies. I wanted to do some acrylics this spring and cannot get fresh paints or brushes anywhere.

I give up.
My son and I need new backup batteries for our computers (thunder and lightning here).

I hope there's some still available when he gets his check in a couple of days.

We don't really need too much else. Bought him a little tool chest last summer; has one of everything in a small-ish case with a handle to carry it. I bet those are long gone now.

Costco has the yellow and black 27 gallon totes. I have six, mostly full of food.

(snicker) No, I don’t. But I’m going to help you. I assume from your answer that you’re using a smartphone, and further, that you use it in the upright (portrait) orientation. Thus you don’t see the EDIT option.

Tap the ellipsis under your post (the three dots for you “tech challenged old people.”) The EDIT link will mysteriously appear. Tap that, edit post, and SAVE.

All done.

There, you learned something new this morning...
As did I...
I usually operate landscape, nice to know there’s a choice.

I noticed no hatchets at all at my local Lowe's. I personally have plenty of them, but noticed the empty section on the racks. It is a very useful tool. I like the 1 piece forged metal head and handle. Not sure if it's a local thing or a more widespread shortage.

I forgot to post I went out and about saturday. 5/23 I guess it would be.

I am in east tn and kinda rural but obviously walmart and krogers not so rural.

Walmart had lots of flour and gallon sizes of bleach in stock. Had to check labels cause splashless was only real difference on labels. But they did have a lot of the regular good old fashioned bleach. I even bought 1. Had a sign about limiting sales as needed. I figure I could have bought 2 but not a shopping cart full. I forgot to look for yeast. Now the canned veggies were hard hit but you could find about everything but some were not common normal brands. Soups same thing, you want campbells spiffy soup good luck. Generic of same soup was there but some were hard hit. Meat was not bad but I had plenty and did not bother checking prices and what not. No one making customers wear mask, employees had masks. Had dawn dish soap in big size, I have been running on one for over a year now and bought another monster size since I have several little pump bottles from antibacterial soap I bought. Toilet paper and paper towels and everything else in stock.

Hit krogers just cause and more signs about limiting sales of specific stuff as needed but this seemed to only be for someone trying to fill a freezer in one go. Plenty of stuff in stock that had previously been out. I mostly hit krogers cause I wanted to check it out more than I really could not find stuff in walmart.

In krogers they had some bar b que sauce for 99 cents a bottle, one guy filled the shopping cart with it but I gotta admit I did not need any and figured he was one of the pop up trailer food sales guys. Few older guys have little hot dog or bar b que stands they pull around.

Most interesting thing I noticed, blue cheese salad dressing was hard hit. Plenty of ranch but I figure the blue cheese is more for dipping things in and it was seriously hard hit. Could find it in spiffy more expensive brand but very hard hit compared to all other salad dressing.
