Dry cleaning and our laundry lady.

Going to work, even in the blue collar job I do, I like to be pressed and starched and professional. Don't want to go to work looking like a rag muffin. And the missus has the iron and spray starch "somewhere". Like, at the back of the closet under 50,000 flat sheets or something. She tried it once, iron disappeared after that :)

Our laundry lady. Wife doesn't do laundry, we take it down the street, pick it up a few days later folded and ready to put away. It's a little luxury for my missus (because my mama washed for 9 of us and it damn near killed her. Don't want to see my missus slaving over laundry!) It also supports a really neat Korean couple and their small business.
We can do it; but I don't and I know for SURE she doesn't want to do laundry.

I'm mostly worried about meat, because somebody refused to do his job because he didn't want "to hoard". (Then he was surprised when he went to the grocery store on Sunday and couldn't find hot dogs...) I have other protein sources stashed, but still...grrr...

I'm "dying" for a fresh salad, but not so much that I want to risk really dying via grocery store lettuce or takeout salads. It'll be a month yet before I can start to harvest.

Canned soups and meats. Dog food.

As far as mental state, I’m quite calm and not anxious at all. (Maybe the nerves & stuff is a girl thing?)
Nope...at least not this girl.

Since I tried pushing friends and family to prep for this and they think I'm a crazy prepper lady, they all assumed I was in a sheer panic when everything I warned them about started happening. I'm not. The only time I was anxious was when I was making my wish list because I was afraid I'd forget something vital and while I was waiting for the antibiotics I ordered to get here. Once they showed up and I had my preps topped off, I've been cool as a cucumber but those I tried to warn are all having a melt down. To my credit, I've been really good about not saying I told you so.

2 oranges left that I'm rationing. That's it on fresh fruit. I have dried. Canned, and frozen. But it's not the same..

hoping to get a grocery pick up or delivery. But every store in my area is booked up for a week. No danger of running out of food. Just want fresh fruit, salad mix, more car food, and coffee creamer. Luxuries I can live without. But don't want to . I won't step foot in a grocery store. would if it was just me. But mom has a long list of health issues. I want her around for years more.

In a couple months I will have fresh fruits and veggies. But if everything collapses then cat food, dog food, and my pandemic junk food supply will be in Danger. Would have to get creative then. My mom loves her adopted feral cat herd. don't want them running away hungry and getting eaten by the neighbors.

Butter and peanut butter, I can make my own bread and have the wheat berries, grinder, yeast etc. to make whole wheat bread. I also can make Italian, plain white and sour dough but without butter and peanut butter, it's just yuck dry bread.

Butter lasts forever in the fridge or freezer. If it's salted, it lasts a long time on the counter, open or in a butter bell. I have 10 lbs sitting in the fridge. The store had a sale so I stocked up. ( I can't stand that plastic cr@p in tubs)

What do I miss? A tri-tip on the grill.

So I bought me a two pack today. I think It was 8 or 9 pounds for the two of them.
It was $30 at half price. Yum

For "stored food" winter salads, I keep jars of kraut to make a slaw-type salad, (recipes on the web) and also don't forget about 3 bean salad, cowboy caviar, and pasta salads. I've been known to use frozen veg like broccoli, peas and carrots liberally in pasta salad. Fills the fresh salad void to some degree.
