I just had a conversation with a good friend of mine who is aware of the virus situation. Yet when o tried to talk to her about preps, even from an economical/price perspective, she thought I was off my rocker. She came just short of suggesting therapy to get past my “fear” and “paranoia.”

Her words were literally, “But that’s in China. Not here. They have deplorable conditions there, and there’s no way something to that degree would ever happen here.

That kind of head-in-the sand mentality is going to be the downfall of our country in any pandemic, whether this one or the next.

I’m grateful to have you all as my tribe, and for the wisdom and discernment I have from the Holy Spirit.

Looks to me that she has one headphone in... See the other wire hanging down? Probably, has an MP3 player in her bag.

A nurse weighs in- when I first saw the picture I initially thought it was oxygen tubing, but taking a closer look decided it was an N-G tube (nasogastric) for either feeding or stomach decompression (probably feeding though). Since there's been so much speculation, I went back and looked again, and I'm still going with N-G tube. I don't see anything that looks like earbuds or something non medical.

Dr. Francis Boyle discusses the coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan, China and the Biosafety Level 4 laboratory (BSL-4) from which he believes the infectious disease escaped. He believes the virus is potentially lethal and an offensive biological warfare weapon or dual-use biowarfare weapons agent genetically modified with gain of function properties, which is why the Chinese government originally tried to cover it up and is now taking drastic measures to contain it. The Wuhan BSL-4 lab is also a specially designated World Health Organization (WHO) research lab and Dr. Boyle contends that the WHO knows full well what is occurring.

Pretoria - Nigerian police have arrested in five people in Abuja for causing a scare over the deadly coronavirus.

A Ghana publication reported on Monday that according to the Wuse Zone 3 Divisional Police PRO, Anjuguri Manzal, one of the suspects said that their action was merely a prank about the Coronavirus and was not intended to cause any sort of chaos.

It was said the suspects claimed to be playing out a script about the virus without the knowledge or authorisation of the relevant authorities of the Federal Capital Territory Administration.

Sahara Reports said the suspects went to the Wuse District Hospital claiming that one of them had been infected with Coronavirus.

The incident led to panic and disruption of normal health service delivery at the hospital.

The suspects were, however, apprehended by police after it was found out that their claim was false.

This will have a major impact on the oil market really fast. The oil market as as whole is running a surplus and has been for years. Production rates have been jiggled to make it seem like there is a shortfall, but in reality there is not. They are trying to hit higher price points when they jiggle the volumes produced.

If the rest of the market doesn't drop volume ASAP, there will be a crater in oil prices.

Also this shows us that China's economy is really tanking right now. They don't conserve at all. If anything they are wasteful. To cut 12% and have the independents do the same says everyone is freaking out regarding the Chinese economy.
and maybe the smog levels in China will improve /sarc

Saw this article a couple of weeks ago. Wonder if this has anything to do with the weaponized coronavirus....

Basically, idiots are guarding these BSL-4 Labs!

A researcher with ties to China was recently escorted out of the National Microbiology Lab (NML) in Winnipeg amid an RCMP investigation into what's being described as a possible "policy breach."

Dr. Xiangguo Qiu, her husband Keding Cheng and an unknown number of her students from China were removed from Canada's only level-4 lab on July 5, CBC News has learned.

A Level 4 virology facility is a lab equipped to work with the most serious and deadly human and animal diseases. That makes the Arlington Street lab one of only a handful in North America capable of handling pathogens requiring the highest level of containment, such as Ebola.

Security access for the couple and the Chinese students was revoked, according to sources who work at the lab and do not want to be identified because they fear consequences for speaking out.

Just an FYI, I'm not endorsing this. I would think the better the mask, the better the protection; But still, read the study. Surgical masks are CLEARLY NOT "USELESS"

Surgical masks as good as respirators for flu and respiratory virus protection

Date: September 3, 2019

Source: UT Southwestern Medical Center

Summary: The study reported 'no significant difference in the effectiveness' of medical masks vs. N95 respirators for prevention of influenza or other viral respiratory illness.

Researchers may finally have an answer in the long-running controversy over whether the common surgical mask is as effective as more expensive respirator-type masks in protecting health care workers from flu and other respiratory viruses.

A study published today in JAMA compared the ubiquitous surgical (or medical) mask, which costs about a dime, to a less commonly used respirator called an N95, which costs around $1. The study reported "no significant difference in the effectiveness" of medical masks vs. N95 respirators for prevention of influenza or other viral respiratory illness.
"This study showed there is no difference in incidence of viral respiratory transmission among health care workers wearing the two types of protection," said Dr. Trish Perl, Chief of UT Southwestern's Division of Infectious Diseases and Geographic Medicine and the report's senior author. "This finding is important from a public policy standpoint because it informs about what should be recommended and what kind of protective apparel should be kept available for outbreaks."

Medical personnel -- in particular nurses, doctors, and others with direct patient contact -- are at risk when treating patients with contagious diseases such as influenza (flu). A large study conducted in a New York hospital system after the 2009 outbreak of H1N1, or swine flu, found almost 30 percent of health care workers in emergency departments contracted the disease themselves, Dr. Perl said.

During that pandemic, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended using the tighter-fitting N95 respirators, designed to fit closely over the nose and mouth and filter at least 95 percent of airborne particles, rather than the looser-fitting surgical masks routinely worn by health care workers, Dr. Perl said. But some facilities had trouble replenishing N95s as supplies were used.

In addition, there are concerns health care workers might be less vigilant about wearing the N95 respirators since many perceive them to be less comfortable than medical masks, such as making it harder to breathe and being warmer on the wearer's face.

Earlier clinical studies comparing the masks and respirators yielded mixed results, said Dr. Perl, also a Professor of Internal Medicine who holds the Jay P. Sanford Professorship in Infectious Diseases.

The new study was performed at multiple medical settings in seven cities around the country, including Houston, Denver, Washington, and New York, by researchers at the University of Texas, the CDC, Johns Hopkins University, the University of Colorado, Children's Hospital Colorado, the University of Massachusetts, the University of Florida, and several Department of Veterans Affairs hospitals. Researchers collected data during four flu seasons between 2011 and 2015, examining the incidence of flu and acute respiratory illnesses in the almost 2,400 health care workers who completed the study.
The project was funded by the CDC, the Veterans Health Administration, and the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), which is part of the U.S. Health and Human Services Department and was founded in the years after Sept. 11, 2001, to help secure the nation against biological and other threats.

"It was a huge and important study -- the largest ever done on this issue in North America," Dr. Perl said.
In the end, 207 laboratory-confirmed influenza infections occurred in the N95 groups versus 193 among medical mask wearers, according to the report. In addition, there were 2,734 cases of influenza-like symptoms, laboratory-confirmed respiratory illnesses, and acute or laboratory-detected respiratory infections (where the worker may not have felt ill) in the N95 groups, compared with 3,039 such events among medical mask wearers.

"The takeaway is that this study shows one type of protective equipment is not superior to the other," she said. "Facilities have several options to provide protection to their staff -- which include surgical masks -- and can feel that staff are protected from seasonal influenza. Our study supports that in the outpatient setting there was no difference between the tested protections."

Dr. Perl said she expects more studies to arise from the data collected in this report; she now plans to investigate the dynamics of virus transmission to better understand how respiratory viruses are spread.

Yeah... I find all the recent propaganda ( that's what it is ) about how useless masks are very suspect.

If useless, why do doctors and nurses wear them? Why can you be arrested for NOT wearing one in China? Why have they always been effective up until this outbreak?

Excellent points. Reminds me of a book called, "Inside the Criminal Mind" by Stanton Samenow (1984, revised 2004).

I'll just say this: Any knowledge we have of the psychological behaviors we may face in a SHTF scenario is very valuable information indeed.

Fortunately for us, it is predictable, and we can to some extent plan for it.

I explain it similar, their morals are that if they can take it away from you that, right there,
proves their moral right to have it more than you. Survival of fittest in it's most primal form.

Apologize if already reported on - this thread is huge. Not keeping up very well. Add this to #7723 post above.

Just now found this:

Did China Steal Coronavirus From Canada And Weaponize It

Chinese Biological Espionage

In March 2019, in mysterious event a shipment of exceptionally virulent viruses from Canada’s NML ended up in China. The event caused a major scandal with Bio-warfare experts questioning why Canada was sending lethal viruses to China. Scientists from NML said the highly lethal viruses were a potential bio-weapon.

Following investigation, the incident was traced to Chinese agents working at NML. Four months later in July 2019, a group of Chinese virologists were forcibly dispatched from the Canadian National Microbiology Laboratory (NML). The NML is Canada’s only level-4 facility and one of only a few in North America equipped to handle the world’s deadliest diseases, including Ebola, SARS, Coronavirus, etc.

I cannot confirm but the Chinese users in Twitter are circulating a rumor that Chairman Xi Jinping had a stroke brain attack a few days ago. That explains why his photo disappear from People’s Daily and the CCTV daily news for a consecutive of days
1:12 AM - 3 Feb 2020

Again, I read many pages back that he was evacuated to an isolated island... I would say that scenario is more likely.

A little bit of good news about coronavirus: The number of new cases outside mainland China is currently declining:
Jan. 31: 28 new cases
Feb. 1: 14 new cases
Feb. 2: 11 new cases
Feb. 3: 6 new cases

I thought Korea was getting worse with more cases?

As is Germany and the US. I'm not sure where BNO got those numbers but since they said 'good news' and we can all use some (especially after the horrible news about Rush Limbaugh - unrelated but still jolting) I thought I'd post it. Agree with you it has to be off.

Yeah... I find all the recent propaganda ( that's what it is ) about how useless masks are very suspect. If useless, why do doctors and nurses wear them? Why can you be arrested for NOT wearing one in China? Why have they always been effective up until this outbreak?

Two different reasons for masks in a pandemic.

Sick people wear them so as not to infect anyone else. They breathe, cough, spray their spit, etc into the mask. That protects people around them, that's why the sick people get the masks when you're waiting at the doctor's office. I think in China they want the potentially sick to wear masks when they go out so they don't spread the disease, not so they won't catch it. Those can be the surgical masks.

The other reason is for health workers to not catch it - they wear the N95's for that. I'm guessing the gov't doesn't want the average Joe/Jane buying up all the masks because they realize there will be shortages and it's more important for doctors, nurses, first responders to have access to them as they are putting their lives on the line to provide care and should be given the best protection they can get.

Wonders how long till these two viruses mutate into one truly lethal virus?

A 'highly pathogenic strain' of H5N1 bird flu has been reported in China's Hunan province

Then there is the ferret flu in Peru, which has a case of the virus, as does Ecuador.

East TN has been hit HARD with the flu. Our district was closed Friday and today. Tomorrow my daughter goes back to school and I am worried that it’s just not over yet. They have to have a certain percentage out for them to call school off. Wish they would close for a week!

If you are worried... Keep her out for a few days.

Tell them she has the flu...

She only gets five outs and then she has to take final exams. Even if you have a doctors note it’s only five. She’s a senior if that helps as I would have to tie her up to keep her home.

One guy released after being treated for corona virus experiencing mild symptoms., temp of 102.5, recovered quickly and released, then two days later they did mouth/nasal swabs...found this virus in concentrations of some 10 to the 8th virus per ml (think I remember that quickly)......they have found this in feces...and on door knobs...

We don't know if people declared cured/recovered are going to get critically ill in the future. And they obviously still have the virus and are able to spread it. Perfect bioweapon. With Spanish Flu there were reports of people getting better and then they got slammed hard and died.

IIRC, that happened with SARS, too...

You got sick, then felt better for about 3 days and then relapsed with the symptoms twice as bad as the initial...

This city is in Zhejiang province - the BIG phramaceutical hub of China. Yikes!!!!

Home of Zhejian Pharmaceutical. Zjekoamg Warrant Pharmaceutical, Zhejiang Huahai Pharmaceutical, Zjeokoamg Zhejiang Zhenyuan Pharmaceutical, Zhejiang Tianyu Pharmaceutical, Zhejiang Hisoar Pharmaceutical, Raybow Pharmaceutical, Huahai - these are TOP China pharmaceutical companies.

These manufacture anti-microbials, antivirals, cardiovascular drugs, opthalmic drugs, NSAIDs, psychiatric drugs, conduct LOTS of R & D, manufacture ingredients that other pharmaceutical companies around the world purchase to manufacture their drugs; they manufacture nutritional supplements, anti-anaerobic drugs, peptide drugs....

Once this province shuts down like Hubei (where Wuhan is located) these drugs companies will be shuttered.

123 new confirmed cases by 1/29....
123 new coronavirus cases reported in Zhejiang - Chinadaily.com.cn

STOCK UP ON WHAT YOU NEED....REFILLS, OVER THE COUNTER MEDS, ETC. WHATEVER IS MADE IN CHINA....GET IT BEFORE THEY SHUT DOWN OR THE INFECTED STUFF GETS HERE.
