I got moving with energy and a clear brain. Got some laundry going. Prepping backup meals for son. I looked at the restaurant and there is a meal that should be safe for him but, just in case, I have an extra. Or two.
Son started the day with the shakes. And then he just didn't let go of the swimming and frustration. I was/am worried that he'll overall but he seems to be okay right now. I have his emergency meds packed as well. And the bedroom for the van if he needs it. I'm praying for a relatively calm and peaceful day.
We head out in a little while. I hope everyone has a good day.
Judy,Thanks for the proper spelling of Resurrection, my spelling is only getting worse.
Even though I'm not going to a church building today, I am reflecting on Jesus and his sacrifice for us.
Judy,
I've found some of the best places to pray are in the garden or our deck. My DH hasn't been able to attend church in a few years, so we just do Bible study and worship at home.
I'm praying for you both! It's cloudy, but another 80 degree day. Rain could move in as early as this afternoon. Rain and severe storms likely, tomorrow. I plan to finish up on things I still need to do outside, today. Today is the only day this week that we'll be home all day.
I have an appointment with my Mac Deg doctor, tomorrow. Since coming off the medication she had me on, I can tell my vision has changed for the worse just a bit. I'll probably need to go back on it for another month. I had rather take the pill than to have the eye injections.
Wednesday, Cary has an appointment at the Cardiac Clinic for an ultrasound on his carotid arteries.
Thursday is shopping day.
Friday, Cary has an appointment at the Imaging Center for a brain MRI.
We're praying that none of his test will show any signs of a stroke. Would you all please help us pray, also?
Lol, I know how to do it but doing it just doesn't seem to be in my DNA.I got what I needed to do outside done. Cary has been splitting firewood all afternoon. He's got about half of that huge pile from the tree cut, split, and stacked. The other half will be spread out to do all summer as he has time. Just a little from time to time will eventually get it done. I am concerned about snakes in the pile this summer, though. Copperheads are a big problem here.
We're both tired. I'm just going to make a quick skillet meal, tonight, along with garlic buttered toast. Cajun Dirty Rice.
Judy, I wash the dishes and clean up my kitchen after every meal. Keeps me from having a big pile to do at one time. Sometimes, I fix a sink of dishwater and wash up the dishes as I use them while cooking, too.
I spent a little time this am reading about what they ate in England during WW2 rationing. I think the old cookbooks will be most helpful. I had a pre1900 cookbook I picked up at a yard sale. It had recipes and home remedy clippings from newspapers too. I finally got rid of it because the pages crumbled as you turned them.
Sauteed turkey cutlets w/ itali an seasoning,
Warm but strong spring winds continue. Did have a brief shower. sweet potatoes and boiled cabbage wedges for our supper tonight.
Cary's mom, being German, had a cookbook from WW1 Germany. I wish I had kept it, once she passed, but I didn't. I couldn't read it, and that's why I didn't keep it, but Cary could have translated it for me. It would be amazing to know the recipes they ate back then.
