Erin Ward was charged with felony s*xual abuse for hooking up with a teen in her husband's car.

Her husband 'Doug' Ward is a high ranking government official who was recently appointed Deputy Director of the Commander's Action Group and Senior Nuclear Deterrence Advisor at the United States Strategic Command. (Daily Mail)

His wife was found naked at 3 am in a car with a naked teen. Erin Ward reportedly admitted to having s*x with the teen boy who was her student at Burke High School in Omaha.

Ironically, Doug Ward has 'liked' multiple posts condemning child s*xual abuse within the Catholic Church.

Maybe he should be more focused on his wife than the Catholic Church.

I find it fascinating that the headline emphasizes the husband by name. She, the criminal, is “The woman”. Two paragraphs for Doug Ward, Nuclear Deterrence. Now, if he had been in a car with a teenager, New York Times above the fold name, rank, serial number, color photo with a long tribute to the poor betrayed wife. He would be in a jail cell. She is likely in counseling.

And you have to wonder if maybe she wasn't doing it on purpose to "pay Doug back" for something or other. You have to wonder about ol' Doug's vetting for his security clearance as well. No way for someone that high they couldn't have known about the wife boinking one of her students.

We live in a culture that is filled with people who are held captive by their own passions and pleasures, people who have no boundaries. They feel no shame. Narcissists.

How will this play out? Easy to see. She will make herself into the victim. Count on it. No jail time at all. Here in 2024, she will still be prevented from returning to her teaching job, but in a few years even that won’t happen. Pedophilia will be just another letter on the LGBTQ drop-down menu of acceptable society choices.

Rome is burning, my friends.

Still beyond baffling dynamic to me- here in fly over country, weakness in a male is the ultimate anti-aphrodesiac, and a woman who would deliberately choose, or tolerate, weakness would garner some blend of contempt/scorn/pity.
(and schoolboys have no power influence)

The older male young female situation at least makes sense on a purely physical plane, but this flip doesn't even bring that.

Are the comments of coal-burner n/or frustrated cheerleader projections/guesses, or is there corroboration...?

I agree w/ the comments about that booking photo- it's almost punishment enough that such an unflattering photo is in the public square :eek:

I don't see any ages mentioned of the female and her husband. But there are serious biological differences in the ages men and women reach their peak years, in terms of sexual desire and energy. Culturally, of course, it's accepted that the late teens and early twenties are the peak years for both. But many women hit 40 and discover they have stronger desires than they've had in years, if not ever.

Meanwhile, men... especially long married men... are settling into middle age... they still, are interested, but can be content with a couple times a week.

Since these days, both are likely deep into their careers (this guy's job is likely quite demanding), she's not getting both the attention and the extra physical release her body is demanding.

When vows mattered, and sex was for expressing love, procreation and strengthening bonds, none of this was acted on. These days, with the constant drumbeat of sex, sex, sex, and the "anything goes"... the gal is able to find some young stud who is willing to overlook her aging skin in exchange for physical activities the girls in his age group aren't allowing.

And of course, vows are SO outdated!

That’s what happen to my ex. She hit 45 and midlife got her. She ended up running off with some random guy after 25 years of marriage.
