A teacher has been arrested for allegedly "making out" with her 11-year-old pupil just three months before her wedding.


Madison Bergmann, 24, has been suspended from River Crest Elementary School in Hudson, Wisconsin after the victim's mum overheard the boy talking to his teacher on the phone. His parents then found alleged texts between the teacher and their son.


Print-outs of the conversations were handed over to the school and police, with texts from Bergmann allegedly detailing multiple encounters inside the classroom during lunch or after school. Bergmann, who began teaching at River Crest Elementary in 2022, is also accused of telling the child how much she enjoyed him touching her and “making out,” the charging documents state.


When Bergmann was arrested cops found a folder with the victim’s name on it containing handwritten notes talking about how much they kissed one another, the charges allege. One of the letters the teacher allegedly wrote reads: “One of my cousins is in the 5th grade and I can’t imagine a man talking to her how we talk.

"I know we have a special relationship and I do love you more than anyone in the world but I have to be the adult here and stop," According to CBS News Minnesota. When officers asked the teacher about the text exchanges, Bergmann invoked her right to an attorney, court documents show.

In her police interview, she told authorities that the victim's mother allegedly gave her the student's phone number after the family invited her to Afton Alps, a skiing resort, over winter break. According to social media posts, Bergmann became engaged to her long-time boyfriend in December and was due to marry in July this year.

Bergmann has been placed on administrative leave and barred from contacting any district students, parents or staff. “Learning about a school staff member and alleged inappropriate conduct that breaches trust is deeply troubling for all of us,” the school said in a statement.

"We understand the gravity of this situation and are committed to providing the necessary support for any child who may be impacted. We kindly request the school community to respect the privacy of Hudson students and their families and refrain from spreading rumours or speculation."

Hudson School District officials said counselling professionals will be present to help students and staff members who might be struggling with the allegations. Bergmann now faces one count of first-degree child sexual assault. She was released on a $25,000 (£19,900) signature bond and is next due in court on May 30.

Not even slightly surprised. Our school district is voting on the 3rd try for the coming years budget. Two no votes. The teachers, city officers, parets, and some students are saying horrible things about NO voters. These people are sick, psycho bullies, demanding more money and...access to the children.

I'm sitting here asking why I didn't get a 24 year old teacher when I was in 6th grade.

And the little voice in my head is saying "cause you were a fat kid, who wore husky jeans, with 2 inch rolled cuffs, in 1965 . . . in California . . . and your last name wasn't Fonzarelli or Barbarino"

I take it that it was the teacher who was engaged to marry and not the student.

Frankly I can't remember ever being attracted to anyone more than double my age.

Not going for excuses. They're going for sensationalism.

It's one thing to be playing tonsil hockey with the paperboy, it's another to cuck your fiance three months before the wedding by catching up on your "doctor" games with Timmy down the street.

She sounds like the cheese has slipped off her cracker. There is no excuse for this type of behavior by suppose adults. How she got hired is another question.
If she gets off the charge I will sue the public school system for being cheated out of extra curricular activities.

I don't think she has a clue what an "adult" would do.

Sounds like her fiance dodged a bullet.
